In order to use OptiFine, follow the steps below:
For 1.16.5 Forge: Remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged, add OptiFine HD U G8 to the mods folder.
For 1.18.2 Forge: 1.18.2 comes with Oculus that gives you Shaders with 90% less load times. If you want to use Optifine then remove the Oculus, Rubidium and Dynamic Lights Mods then add Latest 1.18.2 OptiFine to the mods folder.

Optifine Issues are not Supported in the Github however it shouldn't be an issue asking in the Discord for help.

so sadly I will have to set up the farms there :S i had set up a pretty nice simple storage system that throws stuff in trash can that is unnecesary ( installed a trash cans mod for it ) and directs netherite and gold stuff into a chest to be smelted, exports coal from the system to fuel blast furnaces that smelt stuff.

1.16.5 is more complete, 1.18.2 is still developed actively with the new vanilla features (many are backported with extra mods in 1.16) and is missing some mods that haven't been moved forward yet. But 1.18.2 is the one that will keep getting updated and developed more I think.

Not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this, but, I just downloaded the server pack for v7 BMC Forge 1.18.2. I installed Java 17 as required, but the server crashes mid-load.. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Or did I do something wrong? O.o Quite confused to have a server pack not work out of the box before making any changes to it..

Not the same installation of it; When I set up the server the first time, I had removed some mods and ran into the crash. Confused, I re-extracted the files to a new folder to try again before any modifications. So, I have two installs that both failed on their first 'run'.

Didn't think to try running either a second time whiich apparently lets it run..for some reason(When you asked that I launched it again.). Man minecraft is the dorkiest and most finicky game I've ever had to mod sometimes.

i would recommend to throw stuff into chests and when you get some resources - look up simple storage system components ( if you search in JEI with @modname it will bring all the blocks that mod has added, so in this case search with @simple and it will bring up those)
