minecolonies is a rough start tho, wouldn't recommend just jumping into it from the start

establish your own farms first

and get a guard tower or barracks to 4 or 5 before expanding anything

you should check out the warp plates 😉 lets you warp between them by standing on them, useful if you have a main base

I just want to share the latest of those small minecraft ironies that happen once in a while. I had a different base at the start, used it to get to nether, searched so long for fortress, couldn't find one (other structures, including a blaze spawner in a dungeon, thankfully, but no fortress). Then i travelled super far to find a stronghold, who happened to be pretty close to the place where I made my current base. Now I go in the Nether from my current base and I spawn literally less than 20 blocks away from a nether fortress 😄

in each one there is one of the two portals unlit, at random

and you will get quest rewards with enough blocks to make a portal frame wherever you wish
