Hello! I downloaded the version 1.18.1 (Forge) of the modpack and now I can't play on the lan with my brother (he also got the modpack in the same version). We both get the same error. If so, LAN stability is not guaranteed, mods aren't made for 'Open to LAN' and nor are they ever really tested on it. The modpacks aren't tested on them really either. Your best bet would be to host a local server on one of the PCs

Right click on the modpack in my modpacks screen, click on change version, set the version to what you want, make sure 'update to new profile' stays unchecked, click continue. Make sure to backup the saves folder first before loading the world on the new version, that way you have a safe one to use on the old version

It's the clients that are suggested to have a hard limit

As for the server ram count, I believe it's generally 5gb is for 1 - 5 people with adding on one gb more per player after. I could be wrong tho on the specifics but it's a good start

I can't remember specifically which option it was but I can have a look soon but I can remember there was a conflict with one of magnesium's optimisations and the nether for me. Disabling it gave me around a 40% performance increase in the nether

Sadly this is probably a LAN issue we can't do anything about. LAN is not stable for mods as most are not tested or made with LAN in mind. This goes for modpacks too. Your safest way of playing would be making a local server if your pc is decent enough. At least 16gb of ram and what not

Well overall for the client, 6gb should be good. Server I would say start with 5gb, should be plenty enough to begin with. As long as you don't go above 14gb total allocation of both, your computer should be good. That is to leave at least 2gb of ram for the OS and other applications you have running, though I would suggest closing what you can to free up resources.

If there's some lag, you can look at pregenning the server's world or increasing its ram.

whenever I play on survival or creative, no matter what dimension I'm in there will randomly be dubstep music playing in the background. I tried going to settings and lowering the music but nothing changes. I know it sounds weird but it's true.

I forget what it is, but the big temples in that dimension are basically ranked locked

you have to do something else before you can go inside

similar to Twilight forest (if you've ever used that)

I dont know if extras is causing it, but I'm assuming it is because its the same issue I had yesterday which was fixed by removing the extras mod (pre the new est update)

turning off chunk-multi-draw fixed it this time without needing any mod removals
