You need to install optifine. Supposedly removing drippy loading screens and fancymenu has worked for getting OF to not crash 1.18 according to others. No idea if it works personally as I don't use OF on modpacks (edited)

Whenever you transition to a different version of a modpack, ALWAYS make a backup. Updating can take a toll, deleting things and making terrain errors. Now I don't know exactly why it is crashing, however I am assuming it is because something was either removed or edited in the new modpack, but with the server stilling having that information. Basically, the server has information of items that don't exist anymore. That's my guess. Especially because your keeping the same world.

Well, I guess you learned your lesson unfortunately. It's very hard updating mods, yet alone an entire modpack to a different version, while keeping your world intact.

I would just suggest either going back to v4, or making a new world for v6.

Hi I am hoping to get some advice on lag on better minecraft 1.16.5, we have perfect frame rate normally and no visual lag when we are doing things, like animations play perfectly smoothly, but particularly when we fly on dragons, the dragon animation will play fine but it takes forever to move. Like the input is taking 3-5 seconds to go through, and it updates and you are 20 blocks forwards. It is to the point that we are having deaths because you find yourself somewhere unexpected with a creeper in front of you because you just turned up there. Using a Bisect server, was 8gb RAM but upped to 12 with no real change, only 3 players, all with the same issue. Block updates often freeze too when you're opening chests or mining etc.

But yeah, for your error there, it's purely your connection and curseforge, you can keep trying or swap launcher.

For example, GDLauncher or MultiMC, although I would suggest GDL first.

anyway what i came here for, what mods does betterminecraft contain (v50) that can do things such as land claiming, grief protection, chat ranks, etc for servers? also if /tpa, /home, etc are included can i disable them and also disable teleporting to waypoints?

I don't think it has much of those. FTB chunks can be used for land claiming and protection. And someone had mentioned another FTB gave access to those commands, and possibly the ranks. FTB essentials I think it was

oh yeah, some dungeons have powerful loot, it can be quite broken if you get lucky

if your talking about the illager mansions you should not be able to do those super early on

unless you just loot it in peaceful mode

I believe FTB ranks can be used too for the ranking purposes, and to allow access to certain FTB essentials commands. I haven't done too much research on them tho

you shouldnt need it on the server

You have to place it into the mods folder of the modpack, #faq has the ones you need to remove for the various versions, you were on 1.16.5 right?

you have to remove Magnesium and Dynamic Lights Reforged mods iirc

Also you don't need to run the optifine jar, just download it and place it in the mods folder

I don't think you can upload mods onto aternos, you need to install via their mod install menu

They've also blacklisted out packs which is probs why you are on v50 instead of 51. Essentially you won't get anymore updates for it
