Yes, open the mods folder and insert the optifine mod. However you must remove the magnesium mod, I dont suggest you use optifine. The game devs havent build a program for it to fit in the modpack and it just makes the game break

Yes, on 1.16.5 remove magnesium from the mods folder, and stick the optifine.jar in there, if on 1.17, you have to remove Twilight Forest it seems then place the optifine.jar

@weary sonnet been trying to get them to work for 2 days now in 1.17 with better minecraft with no success. Magnesium doesn't exist in the newer version of better minecraft. I found that the twilight forest mod was incompatible also. Even after removing it I was able to get in game at first but then when I tried restarting and booting back up I keep getting a error which only occurs when I have optifine installed.

even with the removal of twilight i still cant launch the game. I reinstalled the modpack and everything. When i do a fresh install with optifine before i apply the shaders it works while in game but i once apply the shaders ingame and i exit the game and try to launch it again i get this error: The game crashed whilst registering texture
