I switched to the app when the mod pack just wouldn’t load so maybe it’ll solve your issue

For the most part, I believe optifine is your only option for those, they intended them to be used with optifine and I don't believe there is any replacement considering how optifine is a closed source mod, unlike most mods. Owner doesn't want people to have the code.
It's why on fabric you'll find a more wide array of stuff that does what Optifine does, pretty much open source on that side

Hey, Dino. Took a nap and revisited this. So, what I was getting at earlier was that the server wasn't generating using the level-type=cavesandcliffs.caves_and_cliffs but instead it's using level-type=default. I'm not sure if there is a mistype in the original server.properties provided by the modpack, so I wanted to see if there was any fix for this. The world I was using prior to this was imported from my clientside generation, so it should have been set to the appropriate level-type, but the server refuses to generate it as anything but default.

What is the difference between 1.17 and 1.16 versions of this modpack?
I have mainly installed 1.16 because of the 1.18 mod, but turns out it is straight up garbage. Now I am thinking about 1.17 because of the worldgen and height increase, but I can't seem to find what mods I will lose and whether I can carry my world/character over.

1.17 has less mods than 1.16 due to not all forge mods being updated to the new version yet
Best way to see is just compare the direct list of them
As for the 1.16 world, it would not be able to be used on the 1.17, and if it could, there would be some major issues

Yeah, that's normal, if it runs just fine then don't worry about the magnesium part, you put optifine in the mods folder right? If so, on the first startup of the pack with it, it will create a folder called shaderpacks in which you can put your shader folders in and select them in game, they will show up on a tab called shaders in the options menu

Once you find it, delete it
Then in that same mods folder, put in the optifine jar file that you downloaded from their website

Sweet, you should be able to launch it now and optifine should work, once it loads, you should have a tab that says shaders in the same spot on my screenshot, left side of it

Once you got that page there, you can click on shaders, then it should have an option saying open shaderpack folder and you can go directly to the folder that way, place the shader you wish to use in there and it will show up on the in game menu in the shaders tab

If there is anyone wondering why Haunted spellblade deals a half a heart less damage than its un-upgraded counterpart.
It is a bug in the omnis mod that the mod maker overlooked. I looked myself and if it bothers you, you can replace the Omnis mod version with version 1.0.1 where the Haunted spellblade has damage as intended.

It’s likely that you’re in spawn, a lot of servers have a “spawn safe” area where only the owner can place things but other players aren’t able to. Most servers let you turn that off, idk about free server providers like aternos
