So Onyx is removed, netherite is bugged, and I can't upgrade the abyss armor due to spawning issues with the spiders. 😦 This end game is rough.

basically getting the best enchants you want, at the most xp efficient way

Yeah, so once you max out the book, you can apply it

some people mix the books too

so that way on the gear itself the overall level of the gear is lower

so if you have to do an intermediate repair it's not as expensive

basically you manage the books instead of the gear until you're ready to put it on the gear itself.

It's almost always better to enchant level 30 on the item first @sinful carbon

This mod allows you to reroll enchantments so just ensure the most important enchant is showing when you enchant it

(for example it would show protection 4, efficiency 4 for picks, sharpness 4 for swords, etc etc)

Then use books or grindstones to farm the extra enchants to place on It

By not level 30 enchanting a item first your wasting a lot of XP and time

so stupid question time, but I've googled and read the FAQ, can't find it - the modpack for Better Minecraft says "go below Y0" how do I enable this? Or is the "deep Dark" dimention, another dimension I need to access (similar to the nether) to get the greater depth?

That's how it is listed in the "Features" list that it contains 1.17 cave and cliff update including negative y level. Deep dark dimension sounds like something else to me.

its not literally below Y 0 but it has the terrain generation for a theorized "deep dark" which hasn't been included in any snapshot by mojang. it has lots of ores and i recommend mining for diamonds early game in the deep dark.

In one instance I found a whole city. And I st up a loot processing area so I could throw away loot I didn't want. Like taking the xp off of armor and smelting it to nuggets so I didn't waste trips taking it back to my base.

Personally while some of the structures were cool, they suffer the way most mod pack giant structures do, where the rending will be really awkward and bad looking. Like half a base sticking out of a mountain and such.

i tried it earlier witout optine and it looked fine on the modpack, on my other save i have optifine and it works fine so idk anymore for now im gonna try to delete the optifine settings on the modded folder

There was a mod that added more path blocks or something. I can't remember the name. And this mod broke mipmapping

Also, Jaden's Nether Expansion resourcepack breaks mipmapping for me
