Depends on your specs and the configuration of the shaders
I used Tea shaders myself
No fancy shadows etc. but it gave the waving effect to foliage and added a nice tint to the game.

The user might have something installed that's sending a lot of packets to the server that it doesn't need which, in turn, might cause issues for the server. But that's just a wild guess.
Can't really think of anything else that would cause lag just because that specific user is on the server.

You need to run the Forge installer, install a server to an empty folder, copy over the run.bat and other things into that folder where the server was installed and from there you can start importing stuff into the Linux server

Did you add Optifine? If so, the game goes unresponsive during loading, you just have to be patient and not click things. It'll come back
Exit code: 0 is just Minecraft closing.

Just thought I'd mention this somewhere, I've been running a server for better minecraft with no alterations but illagers+ has an entity called enchanter that causes entity ticking and I had to remove the mod entirely to stop all the crashing
