hello! I am playing on version 48, and I have a question; how rare are illusioner towers?
i play in curseforge, where do i put more ram?

Hi :). Is there a single wiki where i can find information on BMC4 ?
I wanted to make all of the work tables
!wiki
No, we do not have any official wikis for our packs. Any wikis you come across claiming to be for one of our packs are unofficial and may contain outdated or unreliable information. Your best guide is the questbook in-game, located in the top left corner of your screen when your inventory is open.
If you have further questions, feel free to ask or search in the channel for the pack you're playing. You can also search online for information about specific mods, as many individual mods have info available online.
jei would tell you how to make the tables
is there any calmer kind of servers for the better MC modpack?
Thank you!
Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
The following advice works for both the Free and Paid methods:
Transferring Your World
If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. Rename your desired world save to world. You can then transfer this folder to your server files. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
!modified
You are using a modified version of the modpack!
Adding, removing, or updating large amounts of mods without testing any of your changes is **not **a good idea, and it is very unlikely that anyone will want to debug your issue for you. Please test the changes you make in small groups, as opposed to doing all of the changes at once.
If you want further support for your issue, someone may respond to you in the channel for the modpack you based your changes off, but please only post once. You may also have better luck in #1061339968691257466.
read the questbook ingame
Can someone explain to me why the buttons at the bottom of the waypoint menu from xaero's minimap are offset and the "toggle enable all" button is cut off? How can I change it without changing the overall gui scale?
The buttons just need to be a bit more to the left and it's all fine
try updating the XaerosPlus mod
if it persists let me know and I'll report it to the developer
it's already updated
Do you need more information from me regarding my used resolution or which gui scale I use or something?
Does anyone happen to know what the heck is going on here? after the BMC5 Neoforge update, underwater glass just, smokes?
I got it running under openJDK on arch. GraalVM on arch is a bit of a kerfuffle and I ran out of "daylight" to crawl down that rabbit hole. I know this breaks FasterRandom, but other that that I haven't seen any major issues. Radium complains a lot about "invalid dist DEDICATED_SERVER" but I suspect that has to do with stuff that only exists in Client and I am running a headless linux container.

how do i update the pack
To properly update the modpack you're playing, it depends on the launcher you are using. This video can explains it on CurseForge launcher, and the same method can be used on other launchers as well, but it's not necessary to use this method on others.
-
CurseForge - See above video
-
PrismLauncher -> Select your instance, and click "Edit" on the right. the 3rd tab down will say "CurseForge", click on it, and there will be a dropdown menu, if not already selected, the latest version of the pack will be at the top of it. click "Update Pack". Sometimes there will be new mods to manually download due to liscensing issues, click "Open Missing" and it will automatically download and checked, and copied to the instance folder. It's safe to delete these mods in your downloads folder once done. Once all are detected, the "Open Missing" will be grayed out. You can click 'Continue" at this point, and it will finish the update process and tell you when its successful.
-
ATLauncher - Under the "Instances" tab, find the pack you would like to update. there will be an "Update" button. There will be a dropdown menu, and if not already selected, the latest version of the pack will be at the top of it to select. Click "Update" once selected. Sometimes there will be new mods to manually download due to licensing issues, click "Open Missing" and it will automatically download and checked, and copied to the instance folder. It's safe to delete these mods in your downloads folder once done. Once all are detected, You can click "OK ", and it will finish the update process.

if no crash -> add another in -> repeat launch
if crash, play without mod, as it does not work with pack and is crashing you
how do i remove or diable the mods

Following mods are incompatible with all LPS modpacks: Epic Fight, Valkerian Skies, Eureka Ships, Essential (use !ea), optifine (use !optifine), clockwork, e4mc (use !ws) and on (for the moment, wait on devs to do updates to their packs, do not update it yourself)
how do u make it
I'm trying to make potion of infestation but the brewing stand isn't letting me put Stone in it
!ea
The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
they are slightly rarer
i dont think armadillos are in the pack

It seems as you are trying to use the standard Minecraft launcher!
To run our packs properly, you will need to have a modded launcher, as it will install the pack for you, making it so you don't have a ton of mods/configs removed & end up crashing due to such.
Our most recommended launcher is ATLauncher, which you can find step by step instructions on by running the command !alternates in #bots . If you prefer a more modern interface, Prism comes recommended as well. Any other launchers we can't guarantee any issues won't arise, so it's best to save the trouble and use ATL/Prism.
Offline mode tends to have random issues, just play with online (if you have internet issues - keep the game open, that should allow you to not have to login every time)
I have fixed with your video thanks!!

So my friend needs to take the world out of the folder, rename it and send it to me?
Am i right?
yes

If you want further support for your issue, someone may respond to you in the channel for the modpack you based your changes off, but please only post once. You may also have better luck in #1061339968691257466.
I only added one mod and it worked yesterday. Now, during this outage it doesnt work anymore and crashes.

You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

hello
I am trying to allocate more ram to my server and I am not sure how
I have bmc
its otherwise running
also I love the modpack
in the variables.txt, it'll be your -Xmx and -Xms values. just set it to how much ram you want (make sure to leave room for the computer to run itself. So if you want 8 gigs to the server you'll just do -Xmx8G -Xms8G
totally fine, most wouldn't have guessed it was that as it doesn't say out right unless you know about it from another source already. Not common sense when learning things
does it have to have increments of a certain amounr ie 4 8 12
Nah, how many players you plan to have?
Oh you're solid them, you could do like 6 gigs if you want. At 8 gigs you can do up to 8 players
and I have 64gb
Once you hit that 8 player mark you can use the rule of 1 gig per player
ok cool thank you
np
are the copper golems in bmc?
i noticed that the copper weapons and such are not
and some of the other copper thing
d
s
yes from the friend and foes mod. It's not the ones from the new update coming out as that's a much later version of mc currently
BMC5 is only up to 1.21.1
There's always room for learning, Even experts in the modding world still are learning things all the time
coming across some weird mobs
like this little hunchback girl thing
that teleports
is she friend? foe? I dunno 😄
She plays hide and seek with you! Just find her 3 times and she gives you a lil prize
Getting this message, i have it in the mods pack already for joining a server
wait
disreguard
reading is hard
I downloaded the mod pack on CF and it opens the launcher then when the launcher tries to launch the game it opens the window to start the mod then crashes immediatly. I changed ram allocation and unistalled the game and reintalled it but idk what the issue is. any reqs?

cant start up the game any idea?
is anyone else having a problem when they update all the mods in the modpack your game crashes?
!updatemods
Do NOT Update Mods Manually!
Modpacks use specific versions of certain mods to prevent various issues, such as crashes or major game-breaking bugs. Mods will be updated by the modpack developer when they see fit. Please do not update the mods in a modpack manually, unless specifically told to do so. This includes hitting the "update all" feature on CurseForge launcher it likes to bother users with.
To be clear; this is separate from updating the modpack (such as Better MC / Medieval MC) itself. You should always stay up to date with the latest version of the modpack. To update the pack correctly, you can follow the command!updatemodpack
The easiest way to downgrade mod versions to their original versions in the pack, is to reinstall the pack itself. Before you uninstall, back up both any singleplayer world files you have, and your map folder. LPS packs usually use JourneyMap or Xareos, the map folder will be named accordingly.
- Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> „Open Folder”.
- ATLauncher -> Click „Open Folder” on the modpack instance.
- PrismLauncher -> Select your instance and click „Folder” on the right.
Navigate to the "minecraft" folder, and within that will be "saves" and "journeymap"/"xareos" depending on which the pack has. Copy/Move these folders to a safe location, and you can move them right back to the fresh copy of the pack when reinstalled.
oh so i messed up 😭. i’m just a girl 🤦🏻♀️😂

assuming no or you would probably have done it yourself

hello!, uh I have a problem with the modpack and idk if that problem is valid here, so... Ok, the problem is, I added the modpack to version 51, two texture packs, the fresh animations and the player animations, everything was fine, no problems, but the thing is that when I ventured into the end and killed the dragon and traveled to one of the rings of the end. The game tells me that textures are missing, and those fuchsia and black squares appear. I already removed the 2 modpacks, but it keeps happening. I don't know what the problem could be.
what launcher you using?
curseforge, minecraft 1.20.1
it's possible that one of the missing textures are due to curse being a dingus and didn't install it properly.

jsut ran into this? any ideas? i have 4 friends in the end with my on my personal server and we just tried a bunch of random shit; nothing. should i delete the end file and regen it?
same
bmc5 v41, ubuntu server lts
Will bmc5 eventually get betterend, betternether, and all the other major mods or should I switch to bmc4?
betterend and nether dont work thru connector on neoforge so it never will get those 2 no
if theres other "major" mods missing from bmc5 they either a. dont work within the pack or b. arent updated for 1.21
if someone can answer this please feel free to dm me / @ me... a mod or a dev. i'd really appreciate it! ❤️
also to add (mb for spam) this world is a port from a vanilla world (same version) and we had killed the dragon, got achievements and stuff. I'm going to try generating a new portal in new modded chunks (it was already lit when we came up to it from the og vanilla world) and ill keep this channel updated. lol
thank you, also will bmc4 ever be updated to 1.21?
no thats what bmc5s purpose it
is*
each bmc is for its own dedicated major ver
bmc4 on 1.21 is quite literally just bmc5
run the /yungsbetterendisland reset command
you dont need to reply to a bunch of people lol
just be patient and let us help you
it happened bc it used to be a vanilla world
you need to regenerate the end island via the command i sent above
I've fiddled with all of the Steaming/Boiling options that exist and none of them effected the smoking/steaming windows, so I'm at a loss
It was the "Waterfalls" setting! Dont know why the glass is causing the water next to it to register as a waterfall though
I'm running BMC5, and my waystones arent working
at least not over long distance
actually its broken no matter where i try to warp
what version of bmc5 are you on v40,v41, etc
42
it was working all day, then it just stopped
nvm i fixed it
I have a question
Is aternos capable of containing better mc
Or it will crash or lag?
!aternos
We don't support Aternos nor can we assist you with using it for reasons listed below;
- You are unable to add / edit the mods to implement a fix that can be game changing at times.
- We are unable to control the updates of our packs on Aternos, nor ever will.
- The hosting is not strong enough to host our packs on there without it crashing every so often.
- We have other free methods that work much better than Aternos does. Run the !ws command and the !server command in #bots for more information on how to host a server for free.
There are other ways than Aternos
And Aternos can struggle even in vanilla
!ws
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
!server
But isn't it the only way i can play without waiting for my friend to join the server?
You know, like a realm
One of you can try to self-host (so to have a server running on one of your PCs in the background)
Our internet is limited :-:
Can we at least host whenever we want?
Aternos, me or my friend can host
Both of us can
Can we do the same on those alternative?
All i want is a server that can start whenever any of us want
Without needing to wait for the one who created it to join
So, World Share needs someone to be the host (so doesn't meet your requirement)
Bruh...
The Self Host does, but someone would have to keep the server running
Not sure what kind of limit you have on the internet
Can we change who can host?
Not easily
On aternos, my friend can give me permission to host too
I guess the only option is having a paid server (that will run 24/7)
Can we do the same on those alternative?
:-:
You can try using Aternos, but we will not be able to assist you in case of any issues (and it tends to have random issues due to Aternos just not being great)
pls guys

hey I have a quick question, when my gf tries to join my self hosted BMC4 server, she gets the infamous connection reset error. All my other friends have no issues and she is able to join other BMC4 servers just fine
I've tried every single trick in the book to no avail
Firstly: ive already tried the steps in the performance guide, my mc is using the correct gpu, has a good bit of ram, and ive tried multiple javas on this, including graalvm.
My issue is that when i am in any menu that shows the player's character, such as f5, inventory, or etc, my game goes from 100+ fps to really low fps making the ui unnavigatable, and causing issues since alot of animations play in first person that show the character, it also causes huge lag spikes near corpses. after waiting a while it stays on that fps and never goes back up. the game works fine with all the mods, except when i add cursed fate it starts to give me these huge lag problems when seeing my own character
it is worth mentioning that this lag occurs only when using bmc, and not when using only the cursed fate mod and dependencies alone.
1 - 1.20.1 bmc4
2 - prism launcher
3 - added photon, kleiders custom renderer, player animator, cursed fate
4 - v52
5 and 6: game doesnt crash
Understood.
what causes this error code
already tried : restarting pc, reinstaling the modpack, deactivating all fire walls, re log in into mojang acount
- 1.21.1 2. curse forge 3.didnt change anything 4. v52 5. just cant join the server
Put the below in this Currseforge field you can find in the Settings:
-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
can you also help me 💔
I keep on getting this error when trying to start the forge server pack for better minecraft
Install and use Java 21 (instead of Java 8 you're using currently)
The issue is only after you added a mod that's not in the modpack by default?
do i need to uninstall java 8
💔
You don't have to - you can adjust variables.txt to have a path to a Java 21 installation
would it be to here? C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-21
and what do I adjust in variables.txt
I cannot tell where you installed that Java - but here's how my setup is for Compression modpack server
And before you ask, yesm the \\ is needed
how can i fix the game

If the issue you're experiencing is serverside, then follow the Java section of our server installation guide.
I have gone ahead and deleted all of the older java versions and have changed properties.txt but I am still getting the same error
Hmm, try installing GraalVM 21 manually
https://www.graalvm.org/downloads/
And see if that fixes it
hello i need help how do i fix this

You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

theres not really anything we can do if cursed fate lags when in the pack as its something you added
!drivers
You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!
1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step
- Open task manager
- Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
- Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right
Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.
2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA
AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html
NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Note:
- For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
- For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
- For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.
3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again
- At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.
lowkey i thought this was the reason that this support existed, i used bmc as like a base for any mod i used because it was just a good base, ty tho
it exists for help with the pack itself we cant do much about modifications you make to the pack
Forceloading seems to not be forceloading (farms arent working if people arent near even though theyre forceloaded server is on and people are on but not near) bmc4 forge 1.20.1
i mean yeah thats fair enough but ive seen alot of ppl get support for making modifications to the pack, and the question of "what did you add to the pack" when asking for support, along with myself getting support for adding extra things to the pack before made me think i probably could get support, thanks tho
we can give support if its modified generally just in some cases theres not a whole lot for us to do ie if you followed the performance guide, and you know its happening from a mod you added, its not really something we can accommodate for

if you're on a prev ver of bmc4 you should be on the latest no matter what and it likely would apply either way
if you mean like bmc1-3, it would only apply if they have the simple storage mod in them

Rename your desired world save to world. You can then transfer this folder to your server files. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
it literally says "luna pixel error". It wasnt happening when we first started playing on the world, but rather now a day later just randomly crashing the game. First it freezes and I cant pick up blocks or open chests and then my game just crashes.
there is nothing that would say "luna pixel error"
please send a screenshot or logs or anything
if your game is crashing then a screen would pop up
!ca
should we update the modpack, or could the issue be that the modpack is outdated??
ill try to get a screenshot when it happens again
yes you need to stay on the latest
how do we update it?

!betterendforge
if you are experiencing an error with the "betterendforge" mod requiring a game version lower than 1.17, then you have likely hit "update" on individual mods, and/or the "update all" button. this only happens if you updated the betterend mod in one of those ways, & you should NOT update mods, reasoning to why you shouldn't and how to fix it can be found by running the!updatemods command in #bots.
this error happens as CurseForge mistakes an old forge port of betterend as the one in the pack, and tries updating to the forge version. the forge version of the mod has not been a thing since 1.16, which is why it throws this error.
no, we have no control over it doing that, no we cannot fix that. your most likely option for it being fixed in the future to bring it up to CurseForge support.

can u learn what patience is
sorry im just scared i will lose my5 years of the game ..
but i did it without the app
i have no idea what you mean without the app but you need a modded launcher for the modpack to work properly either way
both iron/iron golem farm and normal wheat farm not automatic (for wheat farm it was over 15hrs didnt do anything same for golem) I dont think it was due to seasons becuase once I got on and was near it it started growing immediately
i watched a video from tutorialy there he installed rlcraft without the app on curse forge he just went to the website where he clicked on the version and at the bottom there would be [changelog] , [aditional files ] and related products he clicked on the additional files and downloaded the server pack and he then just put it into his .minecraft folder and just started playing i did the same thing and choped down one tree and then it crashed and said i need more then 15 gigs into minecraft [i had 15 ] and i just uninstalled all the mods from better minecraft but then i put all my mods that i installed and it said again [BETTER MINECRAFT]
i just cant find a way to delete this problem even chat gpt gave up on me
so
a. a server pack for making a dedicated sever on your pc, not for installing a modpack
b. thats not how you install a modpack properly
c. 15gb is way too much
d. chatgpt knows nothing
you would need a modded launcher such as the curseforge app or atl that i ran the command for earlier to run the pack properly
whatever tutorial you followed is the worst tutorial i've ever heard of

It seems as you are trying to use the standard Minecraft launcher!
To run our packs properly, you will need to have a modded launcher, as it will install the pack for you, making it so you don't have a ton of mods/configs removed & end up crashing due to such.
Our most recommended launcher is ATLauncher, which you can find step by step instructions on by running the command !alternates in #bots . If you prefer a more modern interface, Prism comes recommended as well. Any other launchers we can't guarantee any issues won't arise, so it's best to save the trouble and use ATL/Prism.
same goes for anything modded
actually you can install mods by single but still thanks for the support keep treating ppl like this 🙂
it doesnt work properly lol
we've told you 5 times
still thanks for the support

Hello wonderful dev and community. I have two armadillo in my world but can't for the life of me get the little buggers to breed. Tried spider eyes and they just curl up and do nothing.
Any idea what I'm missing?
iron golem farms are not intended to work, and the wheat farm was likely bc of seasons
armadillos from what mod
What are you voting for 2023. Are their other kinds in the game?

Is there a way to get any version at all of Create and Steam and Rails to work on Better MC Forge?
Ive been troubleshooting for over and hour, maybe two at this point
Im at a point where I guess Better End is caushing crahses now?
youd need a version lower than 6.0 for create for steam n rails or the alpha version of steam n rails for 6.0 and thats pretty much where my knwoeldge ends at that
im not sure what betterend would have to do with it though
Yeah, Im running Create5 which required Supplementaries to have to go to basically the oldest version, and I had to remove all delight mods as delightful was causing crashes on any version
Now Better end, if im reading the crash right
you can post the crash info in #1061339968691257466 to see if someone can disect it i guess
Thank you!

hey guys question i noticed i cant remove enchantments frome equipment and put them on books anymore anyone know why i could before ?
hey can someone tell me how to update the mod pack? im new to pc and mods and stuff its telling me theres an update but i cant figure out how to do it for the life of me, im playing it on modrinth
i noticed some stuff seems to be missing too like i have quest to craft a backpack but it cant click to see recipe it just shows a ?
!modrinth
Currently LPS packs are not being updated on the Modrinth site, and as such are outdated. This is while the devs figure out a way to automate uploads of the pack properly.
Until the packs can be properly updated, we recommend using ATL (use !alternates in #bots for further info on the installation process ) or Prism launcher. You can download the CurseForge version of our packs on these launchers while still being able to make instances from Modrinth versions of other packs not owned by us.
Please note this does not apply to individual mod projects of developers at LPS.
so if im understanding right i need to get a different thing that isnt modrinth and re get the modpack there?
sorry im pretty bad at this whole deal lol
yes
dang, is there a way to bring my world with me? or will i have to start over?

here is a clip. i dont understand how it could possibly have 100% gpu utilization. I have a 4080. Also there is often a memory leak but not in this clip. i followed every instruction on the performance guide and it only helped very slightly. this is with medium shaders on atlauncher with graal and all that.
i mean
its shaders
and your cpu is pretty beefy
so your gpu is gonna try and max itself out
your fps does look kinda low tho
maybe i just had lower shader settings
can u tell me how it has 100% utilization but 3.5/12 dedicated gpu memory
do i have to increase the dedicated gpu memory or sm?
no not rly
ig shaders dont require as much vram as most other gpu intensive tasks
and you cant increase vram
so any advice?
yeah
i feel like it should be able to handle that tho
another clip. i have a memory leak now too
another question. is distant horizons compatible with this modpack? will it help fps if i tune the settings right

Reach out to the Survive mod author, see if they know what's going on here
i switched up which versions of the two mods i was using and that seems to have worked for now, found the mod author for survives discord but not where to actually report errors, thanks for telling me which mods were causing trouble
I don't know anything about mods, please help me out 🙏

how long has it been stuck for
until it crashes
!openjdk try this
If the issue you're experiencing is clientside, and is not related to a server, then follow the "Java" section in our performance guide for how to switch to a newer, more stable version of Java.
If the issue you're experiencing is serverside, then follow the Java section of our server installation guide.
when it crashes does a white screen with text pop up
yeah the not responding one
and when minecraft closes does another one pop up
yeah about a crash one
I thought that was a RAM problem so I upped it to 16 GB
that one yeah
put it still does it
will do wait
It stopped crashing now but it's stuck on preparing world and bla bla
is it normal to be this laggy?
After installing OpenJDK, do I need to restart my system? Or is it just fine? Because I changed my variables etc so openJDK is running. Now it's all setup and I can try to use bettermc again?
For some reason, no matter what type of Axe I use, it doesn't work here.
i reinstalled drivers and nothing change 🙁 any other advice?
guys did they change how is activated the beacon in this modpack?
it wont let me select and activate an effect
Try a Blue Skies axe.
Literally cannot.
Alright fine use status effects
It's unable to see the sky from here.
Dude, if I wanted to cheat I wouldn't ask, but it is a bit unfair that you can't leave and also get stuck there if you can't warp out. xD
oh ty
Shouldn't it have been telling you that your normal tools are weaker here?
After all, a beacon shoots into the sky.
What's a beacon gonna do, deep underground?
"It seems this tool doesn't work as well here."? That is a new thing.
mb forgot thath ahahah
Yeah, Blue Skies tools (and weapons?) are more useful here because Blue Skies needed to do that too.
I might be able to save myself, though.
Would logging on the same save with my alt account make spawn with the same items and location, or make me spawn like a new player but the same seed and changes?
you were supposed to install graalvm
Because my storage system does work and all
graalvm?
I followed the guide to install openjdk
Do you still get the same crash? If so - can I get a report to confirm the same?
did you also install atlauncher
if so then go into settings->java/minecraft and find graalvm21 in the dropdown menu right next to java path
I guess imma install atlauncher now
So in the dropdown menu "Java Path" I should look for graalvm21?
i havent gotten the same crash (though it might happen idk) but the game is still eating my entire gpu
i have a pretty simple question, am i able to add any mods to the better mc mod pack? one i was wanting to add (that i think may exist on a specific version of better mc) is enchanting infuser
or will it tell me that i’ve modified the mod pack and won’t let me play?
While it's untested and not recommended, you'll be able to use any mod as long as your playing single player
Otherwise you'll need a server with equivalent sever side mods if the mod isn't client only like player animations
So basically if it adds blocks items etc single player, if it's just 3rd person animations or similar depending on the exact mod it can be used on servers too
@rough zenith
okay sweet, good to know
thank you!
I have another question - do you know what the recommended ram usage for better mc is? (both allocated ram for my system and the server itself) I have a server setup on my pc at home that me and my girlfriend play on and it’s currently using almost all of my 32gb of ram when we play
A while ago I was asking how to get my controller to work in BMC java. I figured it out and would just like to confirm for the lunapixel devs/staff that Controllable v0.21.7 (beta) works flawlessly with the bmc modpack. Hopefully this info helps you help other users who may have similar issues in the future
Im playing BMC5 V42 on neoforge from the curseforge app on 1.21.1 and whenever i go inside a building or underground everything lags a lot for a few seconds then goes back to working normally. (havent changed anything in the modpack)
will i have to re-add my mods if i update my neoforge from v39 to v42? (the ones i added myself)
im Playing BMC4 V52 is it normal that in the overworld i rarely find any structure and only vanilla hostile mobs?
guys how can I play with my friend better minecraft forge 1.20.1. were not in the same network. essentials or e4mc dont work. How can I play with him without having to pay?
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
is there like a wiki or something i can see all the items and info and stuff
bump
You can also search online for information about specific mods, as many individual mods have info available online.
jei will show you all items
jei is a mod and its included in the pack
its the big thing on the right of your inv when open you can search items in
thanks
Also
Is there a reason why my game experiences like short frame drops or freezes when i move things in the crafting menu?
it does this when the recipes gui is open on the left
but it doesnt when the gui is not open
I don't experience this
Does it occur on multiple installs or have you not tried reinstalling the pack.
Using Better MC 4 for Forge 1.20.1, is there any resource packs already in the modpack for changing rain? I want to add Angel's Weather but I don't want it to mess with the current setup
check jei
i'd recommend following the windows optimization guide linked in the performance guide
try it and see
have you tried a normal diamond axe
try it and see
if they do in vanilla then yeah
Yeah, didn't work lol
its activated the same way as vanilla, you just dont have a complete beacon
send logs please
is there any mod in the mod pack that can interfere with xp resource packs? i cant change the color of the xp orbs only shape
probably not
the stay true resourcepack might affect the xp orb texture
and the Forgery mod might change something too, you can search experience in its config
the Clumps mod may also affect it
!tps
Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.

Thank you very much.

you're still on openjdk java 17
please follow the guide
and please do not use Lunar Client for mods, ever, lol
it will not work ever
Yeah figured 🤣
Do quark oddities work in this pack?
Ohhh, I know why I'm still on openjdk java 17... I had for the rest of the day windows problems and reinstalled windows... I don't know how, but the folder and the file got deleted??? I guess I'll get install another openjdk
my game doesnt lag, even on the highest shader quality and 32 render distance i average 150+ fps
but whenever i move stuff around in the crafting table i just experience severe frame drops
It just occurs on better mc
If i try it and its not good is my world gg
try it and see
please follow the performance guide
DH is fully clientside its not going to affect your world at all
hey theres not a solution to my specific problem
thats why im asking
Any particular reason its not been added in the modpack in the first place? Surely it might have been considered. Just trying to be careful lol
terrible for low end pcs
there isnt going to be big red flashing text saying "do this to fix crafting lag"
you are supposed to follow the entire guide
thats why i said "follow the performance guide" and not "look in the performance guide for what will specifically fix your issue"
its not a very stable mod overall and isnt good for low end pcs
Ive scrolled through everything
Nothing
you arent supposed to scroll through it
you are supposed to read what the text says and follow the steps
yes, you just said you are having performance issues
the guide is to fix performance issues
Everything else is perfectly okay
crafting table lag is a performance issue
I installed openJDK now correctly, and is it right that I should change the java directory on ATLauncher etc?
yeah
Okay, let's see if it works 🙏
Loading into my world rn
Works perfectly fine for now, we'll see how it goes
Thank you very much for your help 😅

Hello, is there a guide on how to set up a BetterMC5 server on a VPS ??
!server
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
thanks

You are using a modified version of the modpack!
Adding, removing, or updating large amounts of mods without testing any of your changes is **not **a good idea, and it is very unlikely that anyone will want to debug your issue for you. Please test the changes you make in small groups, as opposed to doing all of the changes at once.
If you want further support for your issue, someone may respond to you in the channel for the modpack you based your changes off, but please only post once. You may also have better luck in #1061339968691257466.
fixed👍 ^^
Looks really nice ngl i was thinking about trying to make something like this for yall but if this is official its unneeded i just figured it would be on official domain
no
Thank you, assuming it was a fan made site as well
From how it looked, they are attempting to make htemselves look as if they are the official team
they gotta update the site though bro its like at least 6 months outdated
16.0 GB - i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz (2.90 GHz) - nvidia rtx 3060 - why is my game running so slow?
16gb ram
I have a problem with the server host. When I transfer my world to the server, my character and entities remain, but the world (including my base) disappears/changes completely.
Please follow the performance guide to improve your game performance, as this is likely to resolve your issue. If your lag is unresolved, send a screenshot with F3 open ingame.
heyy does anyone know how to fix this?
no one knows why?
ill say one thing... thats creepy
i would honestly try reimporting the entire world folder agian
and annoying, I don't know what to do 😣
i tried that
just to confirm, but should i upload it as a rar or zip?
if you mean for like importing which i havent really used bisect cause screw that pricing but probably zip. what i meant is directly open the sftp/ftp connection and drop the world folder in that way or just a zip of the world folder by itself and unzip it
I do believe i had this issue once where when server was started for first time it regenerated the world
id probably contact the hosts support about it
My curseforge Minecraft won’t launch and keeps crashing even tho I have it up to date can someone please help
