Just a heads up for anyone not wanting to spend hours troubleshooting like me lol. Tags: " Spawn inside wall " " darkness"
Minecells: if you're still spawning inside walls with the newest version, the mods that were causing me issues were Structurify and YetAnotherConfigLib. Update them to their newest version and then delete the world save files for your minecells folder. Your MineCells world save files will still be corrupt so you'll have to delete them and have to repopulate them.

This used to be a bug with the Sparse Structures mod, so I recommended Structurify because that didn't modify the Mine Cells custom placement. Seems like they changed the mod so now it does.
Guess now I have to figure out a workaround for their workaround

Yeah, currently it becomes available after you obtain the Vine Rune - then you can just choose it in the Doorway GUI after you click your doorway in the overworld
There will be extra dungeons leading to it in the future, accessed from the Prison like before. Just needed a temporary option like this for now
So i see others have also had this issue, has anyone actually figured out a solution yet?

Yeah I've been trying to find a mod that could be responsible for this but no luck so far. Could be stuff like c2me, maybe. You could also try going into the Mine Cells config: there's a field called something like "force teleport server thread", try messing around with that one and then going into the dimension

is there anyway to refresh the dungeon or anything?

Just a note that this changed in 2.0.0, so there's only one dungeon per player currently if you're playing the most recent version 
There will be a way to get more dungeons in the future, but currently it's limited like this

Matter of fact, @worn cedar take this, unpack it into your world folder/datapacks so the increased_boss_hp folder is there
And you can tweak the files you find inside - by default I made them have 1000hp each
And as for the Sinytra issue, I'm completely unsure what could be going on there. Do your logs maybe show any errors?

yeah there's nothing on the logs from what i can see, i think it is just incompatible with iron's idk or something in the synitra connector since still in beta
Ive found a issue with travelers backpacks and minecells and i was told by the travelers backpacks dev to let you know aswell
It has something do with heavy nbt items and servers, lmk if you need anything else
Oh I know what happens probably, the entity inside the item doesn't have a real world assigned to it so it tries the check if the non-existent world is a Mine Cells dimension, hence the error.
Does the error just keep spamming or does it start lagging then?
it lags till the user affected is at like 10 fps
only some people seem to be affected in multiplayer and it usually includes a ender lead or a bee hive

Chests, or craft it. If you have EMI you can look up its crafting recipe and it'll also tell you what you need to do to unlock the recipe

Which item are you trying to craft?
Some items require an achievement to have their recipes unlocked. If you have EMI or REI you should see a little tooltip when looking up the recipe about which advancement is needed
Then in the Cell Crafter just find the recipe, select it, and click the craft button

Hey i need some help with the Minecells mod, im playing it on a server and i have the following issue: as soon as i teleport into the Dimension everything is full of hardstone and there is no way out of it. is there any way to fix this?
I missed this somehow 
Try removing any mods like Sparse Structures and Structurify, or try going back to their default configuration and tweak it while testing if everything works okay
Hi, I'm trying to get the Mine Cells mod to work on my neoforge 1.21.1 pack, however I'm having trouble figuring out what's causing the errors and not to load. I have sinytra connector, owo dependency (fabric version 0.12.15.4). I have forgifed fabric api, but not fabric api. My limited understanding was that I'd only need forgified fabric api. I hope some have suggestions because I really like this mod.

You're right about the Fabric API, you should only need the forgified one, as well as owo. The log should clear things up I think

Just double checking, do you mean the dimension turns into a flat world? I recently got the vine rune and wanted to go back to use it in the prison, and the world turned blank. (We haven't tried going back since, and no one else on the mod has done mine cells, so I haven't tried the trust turn-it-on-and-off-again yet.)
Hey, I'm having two issues, I'm the host of a word, but I cannot access the dimension with my portal, I can enter other players portals and it will work just fine, so I have been playing there, and I have unlocked recipes but I'm unable to see them, whenever I try to access the crafting menu it's just empty
does anyone know how to place the dungeon teleporter? i made a 3x3 wall and it wont place
Do you have a floor under it? And are you in the Overworld?
The recipes are an issue that I know of, will be looking into it. Should be a simple fix
As to why you can't access with your own portal - no idea why that could be happening. What if you right-click the portal, select the Prison again and click 'open for me only' on the bottom?
Alternatively if that doesn't work, try "open for everyone" instead and see if you can go through
Or break and replace the portal, try everything

Hey! I am trying to force some Minecells mobs to spawn naturally in the world/in the nether using mods such as Custom Mob Spawns by Azylooper and Spawn Balance Utility by MacTso for my modpack. But it doesn't seem like these work with Minecells mobs, I assume its due to how Minecells mobs are programmed to spawn.
Is there a way I can work around this and get the mobs to naturally spawn in the overworld/nether? or maybe make spawner runes spawn? Thank you for your time!
Sorry for the late response, I'm quite busy with some MineCells-unrelated stuff 
You can make your own spawner runes, and I even made a little piece of documentation on how to do that:

When editing the example files, make sure to remove any comments (any parts starting with //), cause Minecraft's JSON format doesn't support them - they're only there for some clarification
As for why the mobs don't spawn naturally with that mod - I made it so they can only spawn within 64 blocks of a nearby player, have to spawn on solid blocks aaaand near the surface of the world - maybe this last one is what causes the issue here

Hey there, thanks for making this mod, really impressive. I ran into a strange issue recently where, after an unrelated server crash, clients are seeing the "cell hud" count increase by 1 every tick. It only resets when the player sleeps.
Using the cells get command I can confirm that no players actually have any cells, and inspecting NBT confirms this. I've looked at https://github.com/mim1q/MineCells/blob/1.19.2/src/main/java/com/github/mim1q/minecells/client/gui/CellAmountHud.java but it looks like it's simply rendering from NBT, so I'm at a loss. Any idea what could be happening?

That's weird? Maybe something with the crash could provide context as to what might be happening? Like idk, some mod included a Mine Cells entity with the player data and is making it die every second lol
The HUD is actually unused, so it is removed from 1.20.1+ releases of the mod 
Thanks for getting back! I ended up compiling a version with the HUD removed (tyvm for providing source code), but it looks like the crash gigafried some other stuff too so I'm just going to rollback the world lol

lol looks to be a mixin conflict between ChargedMobs and something else that touches the wither class -- spawning the wither caused it. May or may not have been exacerbated by using openJDK 25 I built from source with -ofast for the server 🥴

1.19.2 was on Java 17, even. Never had any issues when using a newer Java version than specified though, is it common for that to cause issues on modded mc? 🤔
iirc anything newer than 22 just doesnt work w mc currently but idk anything abt the like

25 works perfectly fine, I was half joking about the --ffast-math compiler flag maybe breaking some logic, but that has nothing to do with the JDK version itself. Turns out that had nothing to do with it and the problem stemmed from a mod screwing up the datatracker

That's not what the config option is for 
If you have any mods like Sparse Structures or Structurify, they can cause issues with Mine Cells structures spawning - check in Spectator mode if the structure even generated at all
If it didn't, remove those mods and delete the dimensions/minecells folder in your world folder, and see again
If it is there, C2ME sometimes causes teleporting issues like that, try removing it and see if it works again. Again, you'll have to go into spectator and put yourself in the correct spot manually
it does generate; but I spawn above it, or I get teleported to the equivalante of the overworld portal in there above the hardstone

There is a little underground room with the Vine Rune somewhere, but that only takes you to the Conjunctivius boss back in the Prison

If you want just a mod that adds Dead Cells content into Minecraft, then Mine Cells is just that
If you want a whole modpack centered around Mine Cells, we don't really have one - the closest that I know is Dungeon Heroes by Daedalus, but it also has more content than just that

hi! I'm hosting a 1.20.1 server with minecells 2.0.0 for my friends and I, is this expected? We've been walking for hours and couldn't find a way do descend further, so when they left, i thought that this might need a check, and endeed, there's no connection between levels
As you can see by chests being untouched, I've already tried regenerating the whole minecells dim

its not no as its included with mine cells for fabric, sinytra connector just doesnt load it automatically, which is what ports fabric to forge
I was having trouble with the mod earlier, I saw an issue on the github page of the mod that someone else was having the same issue, it's conflicting with the Trinket mod, removing Mine Cells fixed my crash on startup.
Now, I've added back Mine Cells + Cardinal comp' and it's working.

Yeah it's supposed to be embedded always in the mod - but installing it separately should work exactly the same
Hi is there any updated wiki for this mod? I think things have changed from the past. In the past we used the vine rune to get to the boss Conjunctivius, but it seems we have to collect the different runes now? I'm confused. If it's still the vine, we had an prison quarters that did not have a location to put a vine down to get to the portal for Conjunctivius.

That messed up Mine Cells for sure, check if you can blacklist structures from Mine Cells in the config
I just did a test on Fabric with Sparse Structures, found a Portal quickly, everything was working fine.
I'm asking if it can cause issue because I'm gonna switch to NeoForge with Syntra
Yeah if it works fine on Fabric then it should work fine with Sinytra - although the system in of itself is, of course, often quite buggy. So there may be other issues, but let's hope not
where do i find the way to conjunctivius in 1.21.1 ?
I had this same problem. Went through two separate prisons and never found the room to go to conjunctivius. Even went into spectator mode and still couldn’t find it. It was odd and we haven’t went again. So I hope 🤞 someone figures it out.

Once you got the Vine Rune, go back to the overworld, click on the portal, and Insufferable Crypt will be an option. I temporarily removed the portal to prepare for some new dungeons between the Prison and the Conju boss fight, but I unfortunately didn't have the time to add them yet 
Hi, Im currently using minecells and a player on my server went to prison dimension, but a promenade portal never generate, so he get stuck at level 1. I want to reset the prison dimension for that player only, but cant find any command to do it, find this on the wiki, but seems to not be working anymore "/minecells:clear_data <player>", do you know if I can delete some file to reset it maybe? or some other command? please
I don't think I do 
clear_data only clears the player's data, that is the player "forgets" what portals they already entered etc
You can't really reset a single generated dungeon without the use of some external tool. Could you show me a spectator view of this happening, btw? Not sure why the portal wouldn't generate. And did all other structures than this one player's have the portal correctly generated?
Hey. I'm working on a little modpack for myself. I was looking at using the minecells mod. But the overworld is inaccessible in this pack, is there a way to redirect where the portals will take you
(admittedly, I haven't checked the config yet, I won't be back at my computer for the foreseeable future. I'm just gathering information)

I took a modpack from a youtubers series i was watching and tried adding a few mods and not that ive added minecells it cant even load into the part where you choose what world to joinj it just crashes without explination
hello, i just wanted to tell you that it seems the issue was found and it was not even a minecells issue per say, from what i was told it was a legendary tooltips issue, tiviacz was so nice as to help fix it with a mod
incase you get this question again or from another pack thats using minecells

- Mobs inside of a mob containing item, bee nests or ender leads as an example, somehow cause issues display wise because of legendary tooltips

im pretty sure this is a legendary tooltips issue but the dev of that mod quit modding due to a burnout , because when testing, your mod didnt throw issues but bumblezone did lol

Sparse Structures and Structurify can also mess with it - although apparently there's a fix coming in Structurify (or already released, unsure)
Also remember that after changing the mods you will have to delete the dimension folder so it can actually regenerate

Hello! I have a question regarding Minecells. I just released a mod called "Wings of Fire", which, adds a new item which, when right clicked, makes the player mount a phoenix.

My question is, why does Minecells seem to have a "cancelStartRiding" mixin? What purpose does it serve? It crashes the game when used alongside my mod, when a player tries to ride a phoenix, and was curious if theres any way to fix this

Yeah, I know - Mine Cells does this thing where it creates a world border for each dungeon, so players can't actually go between different instances of dungeons.
And this makes it so you can't cheese it with, let's say, a boat placed right at the border

Hey so I found the culprit, and I believe it may be in your mod 
Now, I downloaded the jar and used IntelliJ to look at the code, and I know you're using MCreator so this won't be fully accurate, but:
Somewhere in your XXXPhoenixLanternRightclickedProcedures, you're using startRiding or similar, and passing in some sort of "nearest entity of type" into that
You're gonna need to store that in a variable and check if that entity exists before doing that, because now you're sometimes telling some entity to start riding null, which leads to the crash (this should crash with vanilla too from what I'm cheking right now? hm)
There's a chance that Mine Cells only appeared in the crash log on accident, when the phoenix wasn't nearby for the procedure to grab 
Again, I only see the decompiled Java code which is sort of a mess to look at, since it's not translated to actual names and MCreator's generated code quality is not great, so I may miss some details
The error has never occurred unless alongside minecells, but I’m positive you’re right in saying the MCreator code could be improved
I’ll have to see if I can store that variable
The person who experienced the crash said removing minecells ended up fixing the crash and they were able to ride the Phoenix

If the entity really gets passed as null, this vanilla line should theoretically also crash 
I don’t think the entity ever could pass as null because it’s spawned beforehand, but I am suspicious of that “nearest entity” block
This could also be some sort of Sinytra Connector shenanigans not remapping something correctly, but that's out of my reach to diagnose
There’s no a way to natively reference a mob after using a code block to spawn it (insane imo), so I might have to lock the code and see what I can do in intillij
I didnt rule out sunitra as a possibility, maybe I’ll have them use both of the mods without synitra and see if it works

Is it possible to alter the loot tables for Mine Cells? Im making a modpack and the chests give out way too much valuable loot too early

This wasn’t dropped in 3 fights is it a chance drop?
It always drops from that "enhanced" Undead Archer, but the issue is that it sometimes doesn't want to drop if the kill method is indirect (arrow, effect, etc). Try killing him with some regular sword and see if that fixes it 
You can change them with a datapack, the same way you would change vanilla loot tables 
is it possible to increase the health (and other stats) of the mobs in minecells? i don't see anything in the configs
There is a way to do it with just Mine Cells through Datapacks, but it'd require copying over lots of files, adding lines to every entry inside etc etc, so a big hassle
You may look around for a mod that would let you increase mob stats with a config instead
There's two of these that I know of. First one is simpler, with only a config file, the second one gives you more control and has a GUI:

Hi, im currently on NeoForge 1.21.1 with Sinytra Connector and the Mine Cells mod but when i found a portal for the dimension, i had to place the portal and once i did it crashed the game, i got back in and clicked on the portal that i somehow placed even though the world crashed, same thing happened, is there any bug currently perhaps?
can you send the crash report
and ideally report it to the github page for sinytra connector
as they will probably be the ones that can fix it if there needs to be something fixed

Uh, weird, i've never seen this mod and im pretty sure that i also never used it, well it's fixed now, thank you so much!
It's more of a library that mod developers use, it's pretty popular but most probably include it directly in their mod. That's supposed to happen in Mine Cells too, but for some reason Sinytra doesn't want to load it like that, so some people have to download it separately like this 
I encountered an issue where, upon entering the first dimension of MineCells, the rooms are not connected to each other and are very sparse. As a result, it is impossible to progress to the next dimension in survival mode.

Hey hey, someone else had this issue before, they removed this mod from the screenshot and it seems to have fixed it.
If that doesn't work, other potential candidates could be Sparse Structures, Structurify, C2ME or Distant Horizons, from most to least probable 
Does anyone know what could be causing hattori's katana's right click effect to not be procing? ive disabled all the obvious causes i could think of but nothing worked :(

I think it was Spell Engine's server config, try setting add_spell_casting_to_swords to false

I've been searching around on Github and in here, about an issue I've encountered on version 1.9.2 for 1.20.1 of the Mine Cells mod.
For some unknown reason, when exiting the Prison through the entry portal, it teleports you a hundred or so blocks underground, to below the void. You immediately start taking damage, and die.
While in Creative, flying up seems to.. resync the world and it updates your position a second or two after exiting the portal, to the appropriate location where you would have entered from.
Does this sound familiar in any way?

Also, the issue does not occur with custom-built portals. Only those that generate naturally.
There's 2.0.3 already, does it happen there as well?
The portal system changed entirely, so it's not something I can come back to and fix for 1.9.2 specifically

The classic case of a mod being updated to a newer version. Unfortunately I cannot utilize 1.21.1, but thank you for the attention nonetheless!
I might just try sneaking in the version used in Prominence, as it was quite stable in that modpack!
Oh! Sorry, I completely forgot that 2.0.x isn't for 1.20.1 
If you do have that modlist, maybe there is something that I could figure out. Maybe the logs say something, too? If you could send latest.log, there might be some warning information as to why this could have happened?
I narrowed it down to when the event takes place.
But I can also send the latest.log if need be.
yeah, send the whole thing, the mod list will be there which I think will help a bit more, I can't see anything meaningful here

Chunk Sending is a bit suspicious, that'd be my first guess. Could cause some sort of weird desync, which would explain the world rematerializing when you fly up 
Same deal with Better Chunk Loading
Hmm, I will try removing those and see if anything does change
Alright, Better Chunk Loading was disabled, and it also seems like for some reason Better End Island was also eating up TPS
With those gone, it has now improved.
Generally, I think I understand that it's just due to TPS issue, where you don't get loaded back into your entry position fast enough, so I'll work on that!

I hope you're doing well! We are currently playing with your Minecraft mods, but we've run into a bit of a problem.
We’ve searched through three floors of the dungeon, but we just can't seem to find the room with the portal to reach the next world. We even went out of our way to look for a second portal, but we haven't had any luck either. We haven't been able to find a tutorial or a video explaining how to find it.
Could you please give us a hint or explain how we can find the portal? We would really appreciate your help!
