Well Mine Cells is based on the game Dead Cells, that's just what the boss is called there 
He's called the Concierge because lore-wise he used to guard the access to the ramparts/prison from the Black Bridge
Well not only lore-wise, he still guards the bridge and you fight him there, both in Mine Cells and Dead Cells

Heyo small question, I have a problem with actually entering the prison portal (from overworld to prison). I get teleported into the walls and the actual prison seems to be 500 blocks away (not sure if it's always the same distance, but the teleporting into walls is the same).
I'm using the Fabulously Optimized 5.4.1 modpack with a couple of mods stacked on top. Did some of you have the same experience?

It basically teleports you to the other dimension but doesn't actually change your coordinates

well what I could do is quickly test the whole thing with the basic fabulous mods + minecells and see if one of the modpack mods are the issue

It just overrides the structure spawning behavior, and Mine Cells always expects the prison to spawn in exactly the same positions

One more spawner rune customization feature for modpack devs that was surprisingly easy to implement ๐
not versed in this but that makes it so you can give an AI an nbt tag to have no ai?
This means modpack devs will be able configure the spawning mobs to have any NBT you want, the NoAI above is just a simple example 
So if you wanted to, you could make a custom Spawner Rune that spawns zombies with a custom name, or invisible ones, or configure them in any way Vanilla or mod-added nbt data allows

Not only would someone have to port owolib and the massive project Mine Cells is (seriously, it's sitting at 22k+ lines already, and the workflow is... Customized for my dev experience lmao), but also - while I'm okay with people learning and reusing parts of my code, I'm definitely not a fan of the idea of anyone reusing the artistic assets 
you should definitely state the assets as ARR and the code to a more permissive license, lots of devs do it
I'm thinking of doing something like that, actually. Or just ARRing the whole thing, and giving some specific use cases that I permit

for some reason, it seems cursed sword is putting users to half a heart and not killing them, at least in prominence 2
I'll check it out. The code puts people at half a heart and then deals a little bit of true damage, so it wouldn't absolutely destroy their armor. Maybe there's something mitigating that damage
why not just do PlayerEntity#kill? I don't think it'll destroy their armor
if its anything like the kill command it bypasses armor

also, try mixing into the totem handler method from livingentity and disable the totems when cursed, that way people won't be stacked on totems to survive from the sword ๐
I actually remember changing the mixin up to actually make the totems work, people wanted that so I listened ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ

inside the damage method, it checks the totem if the target is dead (if health is 0)
what you can do instead of using kill
is to set the health to 0
that way it won't trigger the durability changes

What would you say if it worked like this?
After you slash with it 2 times, it transforms into a gun, then you have to right click to fire it, and it turns back into the blade again

Can you add the Symmetrical Lance? The weapon from the Hand of the King?
It is my favorite weapon in the entire game, and you can add the weapon effect with on the third attack you deal a critical hit
Well, I'd probably add it once I start work on the HoTK boss... which is a loooong time away 
We'll see tho - I might add it as a creative-only weapon earlier, if I ever get the inspiration to do so 
One of the next updates will feature some bows and shields, so there will be some other new weapons soonโข๏ธ ๐
Oh, one last thing, the weapon that Ven is referring to, is a dlc weapon, it could be the Hyper Light Drifter "Hard Light Sword" or the "Machete and Pistol" from Curse of the Dead Gods

Do the Giant first, he is the best boss in the game, and has the best soundtrack, besides, any other boss gives you the middle finger while he says "You... ARE AN INCORRIGIBLE ASS" is just great

Not really a fan of structures spawning every couple blocks in the og pack
and btw, before another reupload happens, just keep in mind that if you upload a modified version of the modpack you're breaking its license because it's ARR, just saving you the trouble of a CF ban
I think it has a config where you could blacklist the minecells structures, but i'm not too sure
you can get the structure name via /structureessentials getStructuresNearby

apologies if this is not the right place to ask but I have checked the wiki and I cannot find the answer. does anyone know why on my multiplayer server only I am able to access the portal door? the other players all have iron bars crossing over the door preventing them from entering
Is it a doorway from the Overworld to the Promenade or Ramparts?

They'll need to access these dimensions the normal route, then the Doorway will open up for them 
ooh, is it that they also need to go through the prisoners quarters first to get to the promenade before that will work? is that also the case for the prisoner's quarters door in the promenade too?

Yeah, kinda! If you somehow got teleported to Promenade without going the normal route, the doorway back will be closed (because there's no data on how you entered the dimension, so it wouldn't even know where to tp you back), and you'll have to relog to get unstuck 
we'll just have to hunt for a second portal, there is no way to turn it back from a promenade to a prisoners quarters?

Found something funny - Grenadiers' bombs don't explode until they hit the ground... Which means if they're caught in a cobweb they'll just wait nicely until they get to the very bottom

You can only break ones in the Overworld. Breaking them inside Mine Cells dimensions would screw up the progression
One of the recent Create updates made elevators super fun and easy to make, tbh. I remember doing multi-floor elevators with convoluted awful logic circuits, can't recommend

You should be able to repair, let's say a Blood Sword, using another Blood Sword
Pretty sure some also work with Iron, but that isn't really fully intended, so don't tell the mod creator ๐คซ

Oh yep, that's an exception to the Iron thing, cause it isn't a "sword" in-code

solo weapon, i have the zenith mod so i added multiple gems to it and now it does 16 damage, 2 fire damage, and has life steal
Gotta try it with any of those two, the Nutcracker crits mobs that are frozen with the Frost Blast or stunned with Phaser 
hello! Is it possible to adjust the HP of all mobs in MineCells, including those that do not spawn using the spawner? I'm trying to balance the mod to match the current progression of my modpack, but I'm having trouble figuring out how...
recently i've been running countless tests with mine cells to see what was causing that annoying bug. The bug in question occurs only after exiting the mine cells dimension, after leaving it the lift from the mod would not work right, the player character just won't get on it the lift would just move on its own accord. I tried to trouble shoot the issue but i had no success.
I'm also trying to get that fixed! No idea yet what is causing that, but I have a potential fix for the next release ๐
You mean the ones that spawn "naturally" in Promenade? You'd need some mod that lets you edit default attributes of mods.... Good thing you're talking about this, I might try doing something to make these "naturally" spawning mobs also spawn from some spawner rune definition, so you can configure them exactly how you want using the same system as the runes
I honestly don't have a recommendation for a mod like that right now. Found something that looks promising, callled "attributizer", but unfortunately it's forge-only, so it won't work in this scenario (unless you're already running Mine Cells on a Forge modpack with Sinytra
)

not by default, nope - that's why the mod would be needed. I'll see if something can be done in the near-ish future ๐

another quick question regarding minecells
in the wiki i read that you can modify the attributes of mobs that spawn from the spawners through datapacks but whenever i tried it myself, the datapack would instead crash the world... is there something im doing wrong...?
A crash log would be helpful, along the Spawner Rune definition ๐

Minecells has built in settings for RPG Difficulty (fabric mod), if theyโre still too weak you could use a datapack to override the default per dimension

When I moved a MineCells portal and placed it down, it spawned me in a wall when I went through it. When I investigated in Creative, it teleported me into a wall a bit off from where it was supposed to spawn me. Any way to bypass this?

This weirdly happened for every MineCells portal I went through
Try removing C2ME and see if it fixes it (backup please!), it can mess up the teleportation for some reason. I have a possible fix for the next release but I'm still not sure if it'll work (I cannot reproduce the issue myself, no matter what I try ๐คจ)

Additionally, if you hold a Prisoners' Quarters Doorway in your hand, it'll tell whether if it'd teleport you to an already explored or new area if you placed it at your position
i think i'm starting to see a bit of pattern when it comes to the lifts in mine cells, normally when you re-enter the overworld like from the nether or the end: lifts you create will often make that clanking sound when rendered. but when you exit from the mine cells dimension the lifts you create don't do that. It's almost like there's something missing.
Hmmm, that ties into my theory about client server desync ๐ค
We'll see if next update fixes it, hope so

Yep that's it, it'd be open if you went throught... and you're not supposed to break the doorway, ||it's supposed to be unbreakable and doesn't drop anything how did you do that|| 
if you somehow broke the portal to the promenade then your progression might be uhhh... messed up and you might want to delete the Mine Cells dimensions and let them regenerate
Yep, cause it wants to grab the data that's created when you go through the original, "naturally" spawned portal, which didn't happen 
You could change the NBT data of the BlockEntity to have upstream set to 0b, but that might get even messier and corrupt more stuff in the process if not placed in the Prisoners' Quarters
nah its fine, i went back to the rampart and took the portal back, i then went back again into the prison where it reloaded a new doorway which works

Yep! Not as randomly as the Dead Cells one, at least yet, but yep, it's a bit different each time
each time? so everything resets as soon i take the overworld portal or resets after i kill the black bridge boss or teh conjuctivictus idk his name

You can go back to the overworld and then back to the prison if you use the same portal, and it's still the same place
And you can respawn bosses with special runes multiple times in the same place, so no need to look for new ones either
so by each time u mean, i have to find another overworld portal
Ah, yeah, if you find a different portal that's a differently generated structure inside, yes
But keep in mind that if portals have the same coordinates when you hover on them, they're "the same" portal
So they'll take you to the same place

Haven't played Dead Cells much recently honestly
Got Astral Ascent which has a similar-ish feel, and it's even more addictive for me
But I prefer the overall design and Lore of Dead Cells, just the gameplay part of Astral Ascent is more quick and satisfying

I'm only doing 4bc so I can get 5bc and unlock the king outfit, WHY THEY MADE IT SO HARD TO GET?!!!
The funny thing is that, when I came back to play again, I destroyed on the first try, 2bc was easy, 3bc ok, 4bc... Don't end well
There's been lots of balancing changes since I started, but I got hyperstuck at 2BC back then lol. Everything else went smoothly, up to 5BC, that was the hardest for... obvious reasons...
You might want to play a bit more on lower difficulties and unlock some stuff! Having the legendary forge as maxxed as possible is pretty useful, and maybe you could find some cool combos (I absolutely love playing with the Gilded Yumi + Marksman Bow)

i know you're not gonna like this but: the desync bug still lingers but not in the traditional sense. it only occurs when you exit through the overworld portals that're found in the minecells dimension. if you exit through the long way without taking said portal, you're fine

Hello! I am having some trouble with the Mine Cells mod (as part of the Dreamcraft modpack). My friend and I are playing it on an externally hosted server and shortly after we entered level 2 of the dungeon we were unable to continue playing the game as it crashed and continues to crash upon starting the world. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is it just the mod conflicting with other existing ones in the pack?

To better assist with fixing an issue, we will need some logs: Curseforge/GDLauncher-> Right click the modpack instance -> Open Folder. For MultiMC -> Click 'Instance Folder' on the right.
Find the file 'Latest' in the 'Logs' folder. If there is a folder called 'Crash Reports' then find the newest file from today. Upload these as requested.
I need to see the logs to be sure, but I suspect you're using an old version of Mine Cells
What version is installed in that modpack?
There was a bug with some mobs crashing the game because of some changes in Fabric Loader and my definitely not perfect code lol

Buuuut it's been fixed since then, so I believe updating the mod should fix the crash (again, I'd need to see the logs to be 100% sure what the issue here is, but that sounds exactly like the bug I just described)

Okay, once you're able to create a datapack and have a basic file structure, create a file called conjunctivius.json in the <datapack folder>/data/minecells/spawner_runes/boss/ folder. Paste this in:

You could make it twice as wide as I made it, but:
- You'd have to have chains in the middle
- Mirror all the redstone
or can it just only come out of the water
yeah it requires the top part to call the elevator up
just a quick suggesstion, you could make it so that the elevator blocks are all one floor / multiple pairs (whatever way you make it)
so you wouldnt need chains in the middle
they can just be connected from the sides
and it'll work properly
