and checking things with JEI to make sure the item you wanted makes sense to pick. Like, the gem wasn't even that big of a deal, only +50 mana
So it's likely you wouldn't get anything special from the quest anyway. In fact, it's good you got the item for affix materials, since as a mage you wouldn't really use any of the items the quest gave out. MAAAAYbe the shield, but the affixes would make it or break it

People like swords and magic, that's how it is

So there's just very few people who can help you with ranger builds. Not because they're bad, but there's not many that care to check
But yeah, if I were you I'd go with Diamond first, then netherite into Fantasy Armors set with damage buffs (or attack speed if that increases how fast you draw the bow), then dragon scale. You have to remember about enchanting your set in an infused enchanting station, and put affixes on your stuff that didn't come pre-equipped with one

Does the magic damage from classes actually improve Iron's Spellbooks damage?? I tested it with Tempest Domain cleric and didn't see any change in damage from my lightning spells, and none of your attributes get changed when you pick any classes that increase magic damage
I've done some looking around on this discord and can't see much about it

The only class I have found that applies any attributes relating to magic is the Great Old One Warlock, which does give a 25% increase to mana regen. All the rest don't show anything in the attributes tab
