Just got Netherite Battlemage and noticing that I'm just hard lagging behind my friend. I have the Amethyst Rapier too, but it's like I'm tickling them, especially with so much fire immunity. The attack % charms don't really seem to do much for it either.
I just got the cane too, but I can't put anything on the cane enchantment wise which is bleak for looting

Firebreath and Fireball a lot against mobs, Chain Lighting + the uhh palpatine lightning spell when they're immune to fire. Black Hole included when it's a lot. Also the Draugr summoning spell when there's a lot + bosses
For bosses I do Draugr summon, Solar Storm, Meteor Storm (just got the ring that buffs it), and then spam the above spells where possible

yall how do you beat the nether gauntlet boss? i've got full cobalt armor which from my understanding is one of the better sets for my point in the game, but the hand instantly breaks ALL of my armor from a single attack and kills me in one hit. If i somehow manage to dodge all the hand strikes, then it just uses a red beam attack that ALSO takes you out in one hit, so like... idk what im doing wrong here lol

Also, i noticed that it also apparently out regens everything that i hit it with, assuming i even manage to get a hit in the first place

well i've got nothing related to create set up since it diddnt really feel necessary for this pack considering its meant to be D&D inspired, and you arent exactly setting up factories often. Pretty much the only thing i have "set up" is toms simple storage and the beginnings of a minecolonies base since i saw there was quarries and i wanted to automate mining, but quickly fell out of it since it seems really janky
but from how yall are talking, it sounds to me like im way behind where im "supposed to be" in terms of mods at this point

Well im playing with friends and I chose half-elf drow for access to ancient reforging later, and artificer alchemist subclass since doubling potion effects seemed good. Alchemist artificer seemed pretty good at both self suffeciency and supporting when needed so i picked it since i usually go support

anyway i think summoner is just bad cuz bosses either ignore your summons or onetap them so you don't do damage and they don't help you tank either

i don't know if straight diamond is better or not since the vanilla armor formula is kinda complicated, i just assumed that if its only obtainable with diamond, it must be better than diamond, which i feel like is a fair assumption

you can simply take it as
1 armor = 4% damage reduction
and before you complain about big hits doing more damage cuz armor toughness yada yada
iirc you need to be taking upwards of 50 damage before reduction for diamond armor to reduce less than 25% of the damage taken
25% flat resistance with no armor is worse than leather providing 28% on its own
granted leather reduces less at much lower damage thresholds but that's the max damage reduction you're taking

i have 6 rows of hearts and with the 25% resistance its still one shotting me, so i assume its doing high enough damage to just outright ignore armor even if i use full diamond. I could be wrong tho

sometimes it's formed as a cave on the side of a wyndcap biome
you'll see the dungeon blocks partially sticking out so it might not be directly on top of the biome

Depending on what you use to make it charged you might kill it. I had to wait for a thunder storm and use channeling trident with lightning rod
