trust me, its not worth it

just get steel stuff from IE till you get further in. you wont be able to fight advanced spore till you get an upgraded IE shield at least

skybases will keep you safe from most things, it is not worth to go out at night for almost anything. A bucket of lava helps with exploring caves since you are most likely at some point going to be overwhelmed

I think most of the scp mobs are designed to be completely broken. For example, if you put on the mask it's a guaranteed death, and getting too close to it forces you to put it on. And quite frankly that's probably the most balanced of them

The lag issues I've had since v16 was related to the Spore mod. There's a decent chance that the lag is because of a GIGANTIC nest of Infected and Evolved monsters underground. The devs of Fear Nightfall increased the spawn rates of modded monsters, and the Spore guys can infest caves REALLY easy now. So if there's a large cave under your house, there's a decent chance it's filled to the brim with Spore monsters

strip mining is super viable, you just gotta know where to look

it can be pretty confusing at first if youre not used to automation games at all. but the big idea is, collect tons of iron and coal (among other things), make things until you can efficiently make excavators (super expensive but worth), then use those excavators to build whatever you want

on our server, almost every machine we use is hand-fed, so you dont have to worry about using belts and whatnot for everything. and theres some jank related to that. but automation can be super worth it if you figure out how you like it
