Hey, is the spawn rate from the Spore infected mobs modified? I've never seen any of the evolved ones spawn and I need their drops for the armor set

I read they are supposed to evolve after killing so I tried making a sort of villager farm for them to kill but all they aggro is me and if I get too far away they disappear, am I doing something wrong?

Basically, I need the infection to "spread" like it's supposed to but it just doesn't so I never get higher tier materials

You can either force them to evolve by feeding them kills - yourself, snowmen, or if you have an infected pillager trapped, getting them to shoot other mobs / tnt with fire arrows

Or you can change the config to allow them to target mobs, which is the default setting that Fear nightfall disables

I have some very basic farm designs here for them. Managed to get all the parts, though took a while.

Turning on mob targeting would definitely make it easier, but you risk having your base overrun in the long term

Also... it took me 450 suicides to feed enough mobs kills to evolve to get the set... so if you want the shorter grind, turning it on is better

There is no guide on it, though the developer is working on a wiki
To find skulk heart, search around any deep dark area and listen for heart beats, which sound the same as a wardens.
Turning on subtitles can also help.
Just remember you need a netherite hoe to mine them

Also, if you're wondering how to get the deep dark mods corrupted set, its unobtainable as the Observer/Abomination are bugged and do not spawn - the biome where they are supposed to spawn is the Rotten Caverns

Dark metal can take a whilel to get, but aside from night spawns (thrashers, bruisers, chaos knights) look for Dark Towers and Dark Wells
Alternatively, if you have enough resources to make Transmutation elixirs you can right click those on iron blocks to make blocks of dark metal

Dark metal does generate as an ore in dark argilite but its so rare to find any while mining that its better just to look for dungeons

I tried to run the .ps1 script to start the newest fear nightfall server, but upon downloading the forge-installer.jar, it says that the term 'CMD' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. it is the server pack in minecraft 1.19.2, and the v12 one, fyi. It does not give me a crash report, but just that 'CMD' didn't respond correctly. Any ideas on why i cannot start the server?

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

i updated my profile for the v13 and i cannot remove the immersion from "ImmersiveMC"
if i try to place an hopper facing a chest or an hopper facing another hopper i get the storage interface instead.
i created a new v13 profile and i picked the setting in the screenshot and i still have the issue.
i downgraded the old profile to v12, i removed the config, i restored the default and i did setup again all to Off.
i cannot remove it. i'm testing the configuration on local creative.

Hi, i have a problem with starting the server pack. After i run the start.ps1 for the first time, it downloads something and then it is saying : Error could not find or load main class @user_jvm_args.txt . I will add that i was running server packs many times and it never happened

1. Download an adoptium release for Java (recommended but not required):

To install ATLauncher, do the following:

3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there.

I came here searching for this because it feels like the functionality changed between V12 and V13 and found your post and didn't see any replies. apologies if there was one.

When upgrading to V13, I copied the configs over, but I could no longer place hoppers. Maybe my config just got reset.

Setting this "Bypass Immersion While Crouching" to OFF allows me to place hoppers. I thought it was the opposite, but IDK now.

The settings you turned off disable the on the surface interfaces. They aren't my favorite but I like to play without changing configs too much because I make videos. (I turned off the barrel one though because that one is insufferable. )

A possible solution is removing your playerdata, which is what generally breaks first and causes this ticking problem. The playerdata contains mostly all player information, removing this will essentially remove his inventory and make him join as a new player.

So save ur inventory first

yeah we ran in to that problem pretty early on

i ended up dialing down some of the enhancedAI mod settings to be a bit less ruthless

we also nuked the insanity mod on our server as it just wasn't fun for us

like it's cool, but wasn't what we wanted

those two changes have made the server we're running still very dangerous to be on, but not insanely so

the only real issue we see now is that creepers can sometimes chew up too much of the mob cap, but plan to just keep an eye on that before we go to any particular lengths to control it using other mods

but since i started paying attention to it recently, i've seen instances where creepers make up easily a third of the mob cap

we'd just get mobs endlessly pathfinding up the stairs from the mine

just dialed back the chances for the mobs to be "enhanced variants" or dialing back the capabilities a bit so that they were still "tougher" but not to as much of a degree

nuked the xray pathfinding as that was just awful

and tweaked the despawn ranges as well

as the way it's set by default, you could basically guarantee that if not all mobs spawning then most mobs will be close enough to pathfind to you no matter where you are

which in turn would bring them inside the much lower effective spawn ranges

as with the default hard despawn range being so low, there can't be any mobs that are "very far away" from you ever

so no mobs more than 96 blocks away ever, no random despawns under 48 blocks away, mobs will follow you from up to 64 blocks away, and then xray you within 32 blocks

so yeah, if you're after insanely difficult, then sure

just wasn't for me : )

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. I don't know if it's new in V13 or I'm just using it more (which I am), but I'm getting kicked from the game and cannot rejoin without restarting the server, or full on server crashes when using the atlas. I've been forced to stop using it. I expect the atlas mod is buggy, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone has a workaround.

I watch the server logs when I get kicked because I always have that visible, and generally nothing there it's hardly ever a server crash, but I can't get in again without restarting. I haven't looked at my client logs when it happens because that's work :). I'll cause it again and watch.

So ive been playing fear nightfall for a few days now but im noticing that alot of the enemies arent spawning like theres no slenderman or anything like that. only the big bone guys and wendigos and enemies of that sort spawn, other than that its just really vanilla mob ( It is a server if that changes anything although i doubt it should (?))

not a new issue, but was becoming frequent enough to be annoying

every now and then (30m-45m) everything in the world will freeze, mobs inventories etc. all i can do in this state is open my inventory and walk around. time still passes, effects will wear off but nothing else changes. breaking blocks doesnt work- just drops nothing-, however i can still place them.

there have been a few times where the freezing was caused by loading chunks, so i installed Chunky and preloaded some.

If I try to re-open the world (singleplayer) i get stuck on the "Saving world..." screen. Only way to close is with task manager. this often ends up with the past 5ish minutes being lost, (oh well) but it's annoying to go through this process every little bit.
I have tried to leave it for extended periods of time in both of these states, (frozen world, save screen) and they dont work.

The only extra modifications I have are Physics mods (everything disabled except for mob ragdolls) and Chunky, and this 'freeze state' was happening before either was installed.

-10gb of allocated ram (32gb pc limit)
-Curseforge Launcher
-mc v1.19.2, pack v13
-no way to really replicate this- it just happens randomly.

anyone knows whats wrong with the Spore mod in this modpack?
Wanted to experiment around and learned that they have a "kill count", yet they seem to only be attacking players and nothing else, although they are supposed to be a own faction and murder everyone to evolve.
Any way to Fix that, as it seems to make it impossible to get the later Spore ressources needed for armors and the like
