im having problems where generating new chunks slows down the game to a crawl, block updates taking up to a minute to happen until all neaby chunks are generated (and sometimes not even while generating chunks). i've already lowered nearly everything in video settings, but the problem still persist. is there a way to reduce such effect?

What are the spawn rate for special mobs? Theres alot of vanilla mobs, that skeleton from undead and some big guy with a sword but besides that theres barely any modded mob that spawns, are there special conditions? Also the enderman did the slenderman static thing but it was a normal enderman model

Luna Pixel's World Sharing

Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The "Essential" mod is therefore incompatible.

To share your world using our own world hosting, click the "Open to Lan" or "Share World" button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.

It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!

We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.

There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

  1. Download an adoptium release for Java (recommended but not required):

  1. When installing through adoptium, make sure that Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME variable are both set to be installed (please see https://imgur.com/a/jPu1h7h for how that would look)

  2. Check if java has been correctly installed by running java --version (or java -version on older versions), and seeing if the output is correct (see https://imgur.com/a/OWcoq4p for an example of the output)

  • NOTE: 64 bit versions of java ALWAYS have '64-bit Server VM' in the version output. If that is not there, you have installed a 32-BIT version!! If you're getting Out of Memory errors or any other errors, PLEASE install 64-bit
  1. If the output isn't as intended, you have 2 options.
    i) Delete ALL other java versions from your PC (ONLY recommended if you don't need them)
    ii) Redirect your launcher/server to use your new installation of Java

  1. Uninstall any other java program listed in your programs list (differs by OS, please find a guide for your own OS if you don't know)
  2. Attempt to re-use the command mentioned above (if the output is now correct, which it should be, you are ready to go)

Method ii

  1. For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"
  2. For a client, depending on whether you use CurseForge, GD, or AT, the process is slightly different. Please see a guide for each respective launcher on how to change the java version.

Yeah, with my wife, the Luna hosting works almost fine for her, but I'm getting 2000ms lag spikes on a 500ms plateau, not really feasible with the modpack content and 0.5 seconds being the difference between life and death

Gingy make sure you have a campfire under the roaster. Then try to put the carcass by right clicking it, if the carcass goes on the roaster then everything works.

The problem:
1.-Launch Fear Nightfall on FULLSCREEN
2.-After main menu loads, alt-tabbing causes the game to crash once you tab back in.
Solution:
-After the main menu loads, Press F11 to go back to windowed mode and then press it again to go back into fullscreen. This should prevent the game from crashing when alt-tabbing

Idk if there is a permanent solution, but it seems that you need to do the solution every time you open the game

Server question, I'm using the FearNightfall-v12 -Server files as-is using 1.19.2, Forge, CurseForge, (JAVA_ARGS="-Xmx5G -Xms5G"), using the default settings, default mods, and . With a fresh world. On a 8gb RAM server, with nothing else running on it, just serving this. The server is running on a Linux Alpine docker container with Eclipse Adoptium/Temurin Java 18, nothing else installed.

The server works, however, started with a few script errors from mixin, loads of parsing errors from butchers delight and biomancy.

after "Starting Minecraft server on *:25565" I got this error:
Caught previously unhandled exception : java.io.IOError: java.io.IOException: Unable to parse columns at org.jline.terminal.impl.AbstractPosixTerminal.getSize(AbstractPosixTerminal.java:62) ~[jline-terminal-3.12.1.jar%2362!/:?] {}

And, sometimes I get these messages:

None of these errors crash the server. However, what can I do to improve my error situation?

The only way i been able to deal with the caves was two ways keep 4 or 6 stacks of torches and like two or three stacks of arrows and two bows and the grave metal axe. The other was always have a escape plan aka incase the zombies try to break blocks to get to me and kill them with bamboo spikes or get the bow out when there were too many mobs.

Another issue, I tried to get Fear Nightfall v12 (no changes to it, all default) working on a Macbook using the CurseForge launcher, but it crashes with a stack dump every time after the red Mojaang logo, I saw in the error message it was referencing Java 17, so I installed Java 18. I checked in terminal that Java 18 was active, it was. But still, curseforge when it installs Fear Nightfall on my Mac I see it's installing Java 8 automatically, and the stack dump references Java 17. But here is the deal, I never installed any Java on this Mac at all. Every Java that has been installed was related to CurseForge installer and the installation of Fear Nightfall, and I was focused on having it use Java 18 all the way. But it looks like Curseforge wants to default to something else. Windows works great, with the same procedure and steps though. So I have no idea whats going on with the Mac version. I tried deleting the profiles, and having Curseforge reinstall Minecraft and Forge from scratch, it did, but same issue persists. Also tried to look for other Java versions, but I have no idea where to look really, it's a freshly installed Mac. Anyone else tried on a Mac? what was your steps?

Oh thats great, want to reduce creeper spawn rates since honestly they kinda just make enemy hoards lamer. Having a shield basically just turns them into hoard clearing. And very annoyingly mob drop deleters. I'd rather have to fight my way through everything myself than deal with that

Moon For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs

There is an issue with Java 17.0.8 and newer where you may experience "A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment", which can cause the Java runtime to crash under a variety of circumstances. To resolve this:

  1. Install the Zulu JDK 17.0.1+12 arm64 build of Java:

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

Thanks for that, I tried on another Macbook, a Pro with Intel based chip and Radeon GPU. I installed the Intel version of this JDK and the shaders worked like a charm. Not sure if it would work with the regular JDKs. In a while I will try this JDK on the Macbook Air again, and see how it goes. Just used the Curseforge launcher.

Luna Pixel's World Sharing

Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The "Essential" mod is therefore incompatible.

To share your world using our own world hosting, click the "Open to Lan" or "Share World" button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.

It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!

We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.

There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

The term 'CMD' is not recognized errors indicate you are missing critical values in your PATH for your system. This is preventing command prompt from being used correctly, follow the steps below to fix it:

  • Open your start menu
  • Type "Edit the system environment variables" and open the app
  • Press "Environment Variables" in the bottom right
  • In this dialog box, look under the "System variables" box (it will be the lower box), and find an entry called "Path". Click on it then press Edit
  • In this box, press "New" then type %SystemRoot%\system32. Finally, move it to the very top by selecting it and pressing "Move Up"

  1. Download an adoptium release for Java (recommended but not required):

  1. When installing through adoptium, make sure that Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME variable are both set to be installed (please see https://imgur.com/a/jPu1h7h for how that would look)

  • NOTE: 64 bit versions of java ALWAYS have '64-bit Server VM' in the version output. If that is not there, you have installed a 32-BIT version!! If you're getting Out of Memory errors or any other errors, PLEASE install 64-bit
  1. If the output isn't as intended, you have 2 options.

  1. For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"
  2. For a client, depending on whether you use CurseForge, GD, or AT, the process is slightly different. Please see a guide for each respective launcher on how to change the java version.

You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!

  • For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically

It seems something to do with the ATLauncher, I swapped to Prism Launcher instead as it has been reported that ppl got Iris shaders working with Mac M1 using it as it fixes some of the core issues. However, I was back to exit code 6. Then I disabled the Oculus mod, and it started up. But then there was no shader active in the game... so I tried to install the Iris mod (Oculus is a fork of Iris). It didnt crash with Iris.. however, still no shader showing ingame... any ideas on how to get Fear Nightfall working with Iris instead of Oculus?

so then I need to get Oculus to work, only chance... Fear Nightfall doesnt look very fearful without shaders.. any ideas? or maybe its the shaderpack together with Oculus ... since when I take out either one of them, it boots up..... I noticed that the Insanity-Shader is actually based on BSL shaders, which works on Mac M1 silicon using Iris... so technically, it should work..
