That looks very cool tho I am not sure if I can accept it, I see there are additions but the base main animation does look very much like that gif you sent which you said somebody else made

When you said remake I thought you said you were going to make your own dolphin that does a similar motion and such. All the additions are nice but if the main animation is basically somebody else's work I think it would be fair for other participants

Hmm I’ll give the dolphin some retextures then in the morning to make it more unique and more in my own vision if that’s ok

That being said I did do this from scratch and just took the same color palette from the original. So In that case I’ll change up the palette a decent bit for the dolphin. Would it then be considered a valid entry in that case?

Because other entries did everything themselves, except from the inspiration part.

I’m gonna be straight up for the money part I totally understand. I already think there’s ones way better and more original than mine lol. The main goal of mine was to just get one of them into the mod

So if I guess if anything is there a shot at all for it to just make it in the mod for fun? Or are you strictly doing only competition ones now?

I will also ping once more to ask if I should even try to change it up a bit more or if it’s wraps and I should just forget about it. If it has no shot whatsoever even with changes I won’t bother. No hard feelings either I just wanna know so I don’t waste my time haha

If that’s the case I’ll close this post and remove it from submissions and repost tomorrow with hopefully a better more original submission

Ahhhhh yeah, I can see what you changed here. The background details of the turtle, trident, and fish are made by you, but the base animation of the dolphin is the same, right?

Yah the pallet and everything is the same

The actual pixel placements are different but the overall design is similar if not the same in a lot of aspects

The overall animation of the dolphin is pretty much as similar to the og as I could

Unfortunately I would say that this doesnt qualify bc the main animation shown in the gif isn't original. Your time in submitting and all is appreciated nevertheless, as i can see you did put a lot of work into it!

To make it qualify the main things would be to change the color pallet and the animation a good amount then right?

Or overall is it just off the table?

It's a bit iffy, because you're using someone else's animation work as a base. There's a gif here that uses a hand-drawn version of a popular image in their gif that did qualify (adventure), but the gif itself is completely original. A palette change wouldn't change the fact that it was animated by someone else for the most part unfortunately

Understandable, additionally then final question I have is if there’s any shot of it being included outside of this competition as just like a normal cassette? Bold question and don’t expect it too if not but figured I’d ask as my goal was just having some sort of contribution to the mod!

I appreciate you and your goal here, and it's not impossible that you couldn't contribute in the future in some way. But I think it would be unfair to the other entries to make an exception case in the contest rn. Also, it's worth stating that im not just saying that, i appreciate greatly the passion you have for this mod, as we feel the same way!

Thanks for the feedback and responses! I completely understand. I’ll brainstorm a fresh idea and come up with something fresh then in the near future!
