Idk how to explain it but if a ceramic slab is surrounded on more than two sides by another slab then it won't place

the interaction you described (slab, air, slab, then clicking on the side of one slab) doesnt work for me too

but clicking on another block works

For me it works if you place it on top or underneath another block but not on the side
