I have compiled a list of mods that Every Comp has outdated Modules, figured out this is the problem that causes slow loading for modpacks with EC in. While this might not be all of them, these are just the ones we use in our modpack.

interesting. The older version shouldn't have affected the performance of loading.

#

unless the newer version of Macaw's mods has a major changes in the code, then the modules will need to be updated and also the version mod to be updated in EC

#

The only things that can affect the loading is the amount of wood mods (biomes o' plenty and others)

and also how many supported mods you have installed in the modpack

I've only noticed the load time change when the modules are out of date, if they're on the correct version, pack loads in a decent amount of time. (Could very well be Regions Unexplored? That was the only addition we had recently that changed the supported mods number, but when I removed it the load time was still outragous.)

The supported mods are

  • Another Furniture
  • Dramatic Doors
  • Decoration Delight: Refurbished
  • Storage Drawers
  • Macaws (All of them xD)
  • Furnish
  • Regions Unexplored
  • Missing Wilds|
  • Quark

FYI, these supported mods that were "imported" is because EC need to access to their libraries. be it textures or others.

often, the mod will be updated to a newer version with only bug-fixes, no changes in the code. EC will use that newer version to access the library, too.

#

tbh, i am curious what was the load time?

#

I'll speak with Meh to see if the older version of mod in EC's library could impact the performance of load time.

#

I'll let u know what's Meh' thought on this.

It takes 800-1700s depending on the PC.
Previously it was 400s-700s

#

Thank you, I've been going back on forth about reporting this issue because i wasn't exactly sure if it was, but I did narrowed down to this.

you have 9 supported mods not counting all of Macaw's mods.

#

FYI, Dramatic Doors can support a mod, Macaw's Door (so you get tall doors using Dramatic Doors & Macaw's Door)

Once a jar file it's compiles the only thing fro those mods that remain is the method and clas names from those which it uses which for most of the times remains the same. If it were to change the mod would simply crash on boot

Mod load time depend on your pc spec and for EC specially depends on other installed mods

#

Instal with with no other mod on and it will be like you don't even have EC on

worthy matrix
#

That's what I've tried to explain to other players but they SWEAR up and down that it takes 10 extra minutes, when we updated mods.

Also depends on all the things that normal MC loading depends on or any other program for that mater

#

Allocate 0 ram and your pc will take ages

What you are experiencing is I'm assuming is having installed a butt load of wood and furniture mod so adding EC is 100% doubling your modpack in size

#

Of course it would take more on slow pc or not load at all

#

Especially if it's on the out of ram edge

worthy matrix
#

And of course they keep asking for more
That's what I assumed, but testing the versions seemed like a weird coincidence that the main owner of the modpack wanted me to report.

#

If you downgrade EC it will take less resources just because older version supported less furniture mods

#

Thanks for the assistance, I'll report back to the owner what you said. I really appreciate it.

#

No problem

#

Oh to add on to this, updating mod versions that EC depends on would actually increase load times, not by mere updating them but by us noticing a new block they might have added in the mean time which would then have new EC stuff generated for it

alright, i've caught up to here. so RileyCasper, you should be good.

#

there are some people that you can't even "reason" with. just let them be and ignore them if they are complaining. of course u know what to do.
