#Can't pour liquids from fluid tanks into jars using faucets while on a server.

I did a simple setup in single-player to easily fill jars with milk by right-clicking with buckets or bottles for cooking. Using faucets to pour milk from a fluid tank into jars worked perfectly.

#

However, on my server, I found that faucets won't pour liquids from fluid tanks into jars, though cauldrons with water work fine for example.

#

Is there a server setting I might be missing? I retested going to singleplayer and it still works fine so it's definitely something with the server but the modpack is the same and all configs are the same so I'm lost.

#

Versions:

  • Forge 1.20.1 47.3.0
  • create-1.20.1-0.5.1.i
  • supplementaries-1.20-2.8.17
  • moonlight-1.20-2.13.10-forge

Sorry, reposting this from #questions-ΒΏ in hopes of getting some help πŸ™

Odd

#

Any other mods in that server?

#

Can they add it if there's already some fluid in that jar?

Yeah, I have all of these server-side mods installed in addition to the ones I use in single-player:

  • terralith
  • netherportalfix
  • clumps
  • async-locator
  • snow-under-trees
  • dimensional-threads
  • noisium
  • fast-async-world-save-forge-fabric
  • canary
  • alternate-current
  • better-chunk-loading-forge-fabric
  • chunk-sending-forge-fabric
  • dynamic-view
  • Let Me Despawn
  • recipe-essentials-forge-fabric
  • smooth-chunk-save
  • structure-essentials-forge-fabric
  • observable
  • allay_upgrades
  • immersive-snow
  • waystones-teleport-pets
  • towers-of-the-wild-modded
  • all of yung's structure mods

Do you think one of them could be causing the issue?

Try on a server with jus that mod

peak goblet
#

yeah im running a server now with just create, supplementaries and moonlight and it works, ill slowly add back in all those server side mods to see whats causing it

hexed bronze
#

Very likely it's none of the content mods

peak goblet
#

i put all of those mods in the list i mentioned above and it no longer works so its def one of these

#

ill do a binary search and remove one by one

#

very specific and unique issue though haha

peak goblet
#

found it

#

for some reason, this makes it so the liquid does not pour via the faucet from create's fluid tanks

#

works fine without it

hexed bronze
#

Ah yeah that will fuck up my thread locals

peak goblet
#

so would a compatibility fix be unrealistic?

hexed bronze
#

Issue is deeper than than

peak goblet
#

(im just glad i actually found the issue, was driving me crazy)

hexed bronze
#

I'll see if I can think of a better way to do what in doing.why is it always datapack registry pain

peak goblet
#

im sorry to give u more trouble

hexed bronze
#

Tho tbh I think that mod will inevitably have these kind of issues

#

With all mods that use thread locals

peak goblet
#

do you know of any similar modsl ike this for multi dimension performance optimisation?

#

I'll open a ticket with that mod with my issue and have this disabled for now

#

thanks for the help bowing

#

if it's not too easy to fix then it is what it is

hexed bronze
#

I'll see what I can do, issue could be considered on my side but adding threads like that is expected to have these sorts of issues

#

Because it breaks mods that rely on a server and client thread or thread locals around

peak goblet
#

bowing thank you

#

is there a place you want me to drop a ticket in or something like on github?

#

and btw thank you for all your work, supplementaries is amazing

hexed bronze
#

No problem!

hexed bronze
#

try this

peak goblet
#

i didnt expect u to work on this already

#

ill go test right away

peak goblet
hexed bronze
#

didnt check if it was on server thread to see if it was on server side but check if it was NOT on cient thread insteaed

#

works on a server right?

peak goblet
#

yeah im testing on the server

#

jars are filling up nicely

#

what a thing of beaut, really simplifies create's systems

hexed bronze
#

damn kind of dont like how people spam those to bypass create stuff

peak goblet
#

im gonna actually do a resourcepack to make all teh create stuff be more wooden based so for the few things I use it wont break immersion xd

#

so like a wooden container + faucet works nicely

hexed bronze
#

oh would be cool to see

#

wooden create 0.0

peak goblet
#

lmao tbh it already fits nicely, like waterwheels instead of motors

#

or windmills etc, i actually disable most of create stuff

#

either way thank u for the fast fix what the heck

hexed bronze
#

better than wolves

peak goblet
hexed bronze
#

lol

peak goblet
#

lmao

# hexed bronze

oki so this is very weird, but for some reason, with this version it works, but with the latest version of 2.13.13, the problem is still there kanna_shock kanna_shock kanna_shock kanna_shock kanna_shock kanna_shock

#

on the server

#

but i can toggle /gamerule dimthread_active on and off so its not such a big issue

#

just think its weird that it was working before and not anymore

hexed bronze
#

You sure? I didn't change that stuff in new versions

peak goblet
#

ill let u know when I do that test c:

hexed bronze
#

does jar to jar work?

peak goblet
#

yeah

#

just tested and it does, its just the create tanks

#

but maybe i did update something else and messed something up, ill do a test later tonight again with ur current version of moonlight, supp and create to see again

@hexed bronze

  • 2.13.11 - Worked
  • 2.13.13 - No longer worked
  • 2.13.14 - Works again
#

just tested on the server again, both 2.13.13 and now 2.13.14
