#Issue with booting up?

So I've got this mod as part of a modpack for a multiplayer server. Everyone else is able to boot up the game perfectly fine with the exact same modpack/version, but whenever I try to load it, it'll get stuck on the Mojang loading screen, and then I'll have to manually quit it using taskmanager. I've even run it overnight to see if it'll actually load if given enough time and it stays completely static.

I've tested it with and without supplementaries, and it'll load without the mod added, but then obviously I can't join the server because I'm missing a mod. I've tried several times with adjusting versions and the MoonlightLib dependency version, but nothing seems to change. I've tried this using various other modloaders (modrinth, multimc, curseforge), as well as the default launcher and the issue is always the same.

I'm wondering if it's a specific issue with MacOS, because everyone else is on Windows.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

are you sure you got enough ram?

#

is it using it all

glad sparrow
#

not sure how I'd check that

zealous notch
#

that stuf there is usually the game running out of resources

glad sparrow
#

ah

#

it's weird that it only happens with supplementaries added though

zealous notch
#

its one more mod to load, if it barely can boot before adding even slightly more will max it out

glad sparrow
#

hm

#

how would I go about checking if it's got enough?

#

you'll have to forgive if that sounds super obvious

#

i dont realy know but check if that argument above is doing anything

-Xmx8G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M

#

it's this but idrk what any of it means aside from the ram portion lol

zealous notch
#

check how much memory its using when it boots

#

also obviously even tho it has that max memory limit set, if pc doenst have free one same issue will occur

i dont know

#

damn

#

it's just really weird that it's only frozen when i have supplementaries, because I've tried removing a bunch of other larger mods to see if its a memory issue just now

#

and it's not even using all of the memory as is

#

bump to this issue

#

we've been able to recreate it

#

on a specific machine in latest macos

#

without supplementaries the pack does work

#

MacOS and linux difference (where it gets stuck in linux)

#

tried to see if it was a moonlight lib issues but after playing around it wasn't (seemed to be 100% supplementaries specifically?)

zealous notch
#

does it have a crash log?

#

also cant belive such issues exist because the whole point of a java app is that it should be platform independent

#

how is the JVM even alloding whatever this is?

carmine leaf
# zealous notch I dont see it crashing here

It doesn't crash it's such a weird fucking issue (it just gets stuck after loading), we've been tracking it all week
I spent ~week trying to find what's causing it and there's no logs or crashlogs so we just tried removing and adding jars until we found what.

So far removing
https://modrinth.com/mod/yacl
And https://modrinth.com/mod/sound
OR supplementaries
Seems to fix the issue
This is only necessary on MacOS it seems
But my guess is it's something registry related, works perfectly in Windows&Linux too.

zealous notch
#

those seem totally unrelated

#

and its nothing related to registries or any of the game internals

#

it cant be if it just doesnt work on macos

#

those 2 mods are client side dont even alter the game registries
