you could have the server auto-restart the minecraft server jar if it crashes so you don't have to restart manually

This last bit of downtime was very odd. As far as I can tell, our MC server lost connection trying to reach the mojang authentication server which crashed the server in a way that didn't crash the service. It also happened about 20 minutes after I left to go back to work from my lunch break.

The way that I have the server set up right now enables the server to restart whenever the computer turns on. So it will come back up automatically if there are any unexpected system crashes or restarts. It is also on an APC so that power blips don't effect it, or the router/modem, significantly. Long duration power loss is a different story, though, since I don't have a generator.

This morning, I plan on setting up a remote desktop service on my computer so that I can connect to it from my phone so that I can deal with this kind of issue much more quickly regardless of where I am in the world when it happens.
