Heya, it's been quite a while (~2 years) since I've really looked at Star Atlas. Just bag holding some downbad (but still cool looking) capital ships with a periodic glance from time to time at the project. I also stopped managing my fleet around that long ago.

Wondering if someone could please point me toward a resource or two that can best provide an overview (and understanding) of the current state of play.
I invested with the view this would be a decent long-game before it matures, but while I'm time-poor atm I'd like to update my view and see if its time to revisit and enjoy, divest (unlikely), or park to revisit down the line.

Really just looking for some stuff I can get up to speed on that covers the current scope of the gaming side, ecosystem as a whole and focus items for roadmap etc, if that makes sense 🙏 Thanks

In general it is said that mining requires a decent fleet to be profitable (investment of 1000$+), while crafting can be done at the CSS and you can leave it running for days even with a smaller crew.

Regarding LP, thats subject to change on a daily basis. Depends on how many others are upgrading starbases at the same day, how are the current cost of resources, transportation costs depending of your fleet size and type,...

end of last year, i moved 2 ships of mine (2 pearce x5) to sage labs. so I havent been able to "stake" them anymore on the website faction fleet. As I have been clueless about what to do on SAGE, i just did nothing.
As time went forward and I wanted to give it a 2nd try, I today opened SAGE again, but I cant see my ships at the starbase or hanger or elsewhere. can somebody tell me where I can search for my ships? I also want to transfer my other ships now and as I removed them from faction fleet, I can now add them to star base over the "port of entry". But I would like to know where my other 2 ships are that i left in the dark for almost a year 🙂
Also, i opened 20 crew packs today. I set the mark for direct transfer to SAGE. as i am lookin on the starbase now, i can't see them anywhere for further usage. is this normal?

I found the problem!!! In the base inventory menu an option appeared to claim tokens. I clicked on this option and all resources returned to normal inventory levels.

For the crafting workshop in SAGE, can you assign multiple crew to build the Fimbul Mamba Ex? and how long would crafting it usually.. and will it be the actual NFT minted? cheers..

I dont think it makes a difference how much crew you assign to building a ship. If I remember correctly it always takes the same amount of time, so 1 crew is enough. Cant speak on the amount of time needed for the mamba though.
The ship nft will be in your local starbase wallet, you can export it to your wallet in one transaction

1. Will UE5-based "Fleet command" be available via web browser or mobile like SAGE?

2. I guess SCORE will be affected when the "fleet rental" system is released. If "Fleet Command" is released, will there be a change in the amount of ATLAS emitted from SAGE? For example, SCORE systems that have been deprecated since Starbased was released.

3. I was wondering if the Fleet Rental system could include a crew as well as a ship.

4. Is a approximately release date expected for the fleet command or fleet rental system?

For the UE5 gameplay, should it be one crew per person or a player can manage all of their assets?

Both. You will play as one avatar of your choice in UE5, the crews act as skins. You will also be able to switch to "fleet Command" mode and handle your fleets as you do in the web browser game currently

At first I don't think the fleet command ships will be simulated in UE5 full scale but that's the long term plan

Well, I imagined it like this, you are in fleet command and steer your fleet, then in combat, you could zoom in to any of your ships, and take over any crewmember you want; the rest are controlled by AI, so guilds or entirely player run fleets probably have an advantage if you are alone commanding a 100 ships you won't last long in the high-risk zone, that's just theory crafting, we have to see where this goes.

A player can always manage all of their assets. However, you can choose to “descend” and take over a single ship and command that individually. You will remain control of your fleet as well, though you would (likely, at first) have to zoom back out again to assign commands.

In the future, you will be able to zoom further in on your ship and control one crew member. However, you will always have the option to zoom back out to control your fleet.

I would imagine there will be shortcuts to do some of that without the need to zoom out.

A lot of the UE5 stuff is still pretty vague, we have a better idea of how the SAGE game will work out now that we have the basics with mining, crafting and Starbase upgrading

It would make sense to offer PvE experience unique to the UE5 Game, so basically the game will be divided between the producers making fuel, ammo, components, etc. And consumers buying all this stuff to go raiding and obtain more rare items and ressources that might be needed to craft high end gear/ships. With pvp thrown in the mix.

Theres also the whole racing angle, if you are a good racing pilot you will still need to refuel and repair your ship, etc

Eventually both games will be integrated together

Well, you definitely should check Sage. You're losing out. Faction fleet rewards have been reduced a few times, and I don't know if it's worth it. Also, it will be closed down at some point. Simple staking was nice while it lasted, but eventually, we will have a full game.

If you play the Browsergame SAGE this is the option to send all of your crew directly to the game.
If you don't do that you have to send your crew there manually, you will need to do way more Solana transactions.
With the option enabled it's just one transaction for all of your crew

This is only theory crafting, but I assume you can choose yourself what kind of gun you mount on the hardpoints (If its energetic, kinetic or ballistic).
Missiles are usually explosive damage.
