what actions incur a fix fee/cost btw? like, which actions would be detrimental if you do a lot of those? i know forming fleets incur some fixed sol cost. also in this context, would it cost me more to craft multiple batches rather than in bulk? eg. crafting 300k food vs crafting 100k food 3x

everything is a solana txn 0.00005, except solana token account creation, these are 0.002, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back

also some wallets have priority fees enabled phantom for example

i use solflare for sage

its always good to try to minimize txn i think especially for small players

Ship component bundles will be sfts (like ships) and tradable on the SA marketplace.
Once the bundle gets split into their single components they will be cnfts (just like crew). The marketplace doesn’t support cnft trading in its current state (will be possible soon with marketplace V3). After this point you can trade all the single components to your liking.

As to the second part of your question: again no real news at this point. Would make sense to only make components available once they can be used in game to prevent this problem from occurring

For the second part, that sounds correct and logic.
As for the ships in the 2nd market, the owners of these ships will receive the component bundles, so there should be some for sale on the marketplace once they are dropped, and it will be possible to buy them alongside the bare ships. But I don't know what will happen with the ships sold by SA on the primary market.

As there will be less component bundle than ships available on the market (primary + secondary market) if SA does not sell some component bundles for the ships in the primary market.

We will see. Also if I'm available this evening, I will ask the team during the brew if they have some news regarding this topic.

All ships will have tier 0 components. You wont need to buy/craft any components to use your ships.
The components we get airdropped are just an upgrade for the ship. They are not necessary.

And also, the snapshot for the components happened with the crew snapshot. Even if you sell your ship now, you will still get the components airdropped

Glad you asked! After the airdrop, ships become hulls. Think of this like the base model of a car with no modifications added. A few key facts:
Instead of higher tiered components, ships will now come with tier 0 components only. Tier 0 components are non-tradable and are there to make sure your ship can function. You'll simply overwrite them when you equip a higher-tier item over them in the future.
1 - After this airdrop, ships will no longer come with combat oriented ship parts by default like laser beams, missile bays and turret hardpoints.
2 - After this airdrop, ships will not come with modules. Examples are cargo, fuel and ammo modules.
3 - After this airdrop, ships will not come with Crew.

So no module nor combat oriented ship parts

I just did a test batch of crafting 58k Energy Substrate, which is probably worth around $1 USD or so. The transaction fee from Solana shows .01 Solana, which is worth about the same.

Am I misunderstanding this? . (this is not even including the $ATLAS fee of 7% or so

everything is a solana txn 0.00005, except solana token account creation, these are 0.002, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back

Hi everybody, as i checked unused SAGE account (i have three of them but one that i really use), just in case, i found 15 crew members sitting in the CSS. Problem is : i can't withdraw them to my wallet, in order to import them to my main account. Is this an error? Or a phantom crew part of a ghost ship (which would be very cool indeed) ?

And another question : i've just bought one platinum crew (because i like to gamble), choose the option "transfer directly to starbase" and pulled out a human / rare (bad luck again). Problem : the guy never appeared in my port of entry

I did another crafting test batch for the same amount of 58k Energy Substrate. (The exact same amount that I crafted last night). This time the transaction fee to craft this, cost .254 cents. Considering that this amount of Energy Substrate is only worth around $1 and there is also a crafting ATLAS fee of 7%; 25 cents to craft does not seem right.

Additionally, to claim the Energy Substrate from last night, it cost another 14 cents in Solana transaction fees.

The xp you earn right now can later be invested into your player profile to gain certain benefits.
At some point you'll be limited in the amount of ships you can put in one fleet and the amount of parallel fleets you can create (as an example). With leveling the right skill you'll be able to create more of each.

Sorry i was unclear. I wanted to withdraw a bunch of Maxhog from my wallet to sell them and i noticed that it was not possible when all my crew was idle crafting or mining. Indeed, it requires crew (at least 1) to be idle to transfer asset from CSS to wallet but crew doesnt depart from base. It was rather obvious but the fact that it's needed to have free crew to withdraw the ships gave me some doubt. Thanks for the answer.

Yeah, but raw mats that you mine are always weight 1. The problem has to do with calculations. If you put just enough food to mine full cargo it might not fill it exactly to full unless it is super precise calc when you burn that last 1 food remaining. Can't tell just looking at the screenshot, need more info like fleet comp, what resource is mined and how much it was loaded when started mining.

I feel like I'm missing something here, should Data Scanning have its own automatic function like mining, crafting and piloting? My data scanning level is low as I don't have time to spam SCAN every 2 minutes and I'm not able to level it up compared to everything else. The gameplay loop should be similar to that of what is already being used in SAGE where you load up resources, have a burn mechanism like toolkits and food when scanning, come back a few hours later and claim. It could even have multiple scan setpoints pre-plotted so the fleet keeps moving. Does anyone's else feel like this loop could be improved inline with keeping the mechanics of the game similar to each other?

Automatic, as in, fill the cargo hold of our fleets with burn items (food and toolkits) and send them out to scan until they exhaust their supplies. Scanned sections should yield SDUs on an RNG basis, where data miners ships have an increased chance of success, etc.

Automatic, as in, when the fleet sub warps or mines materials, I dont have to stay logged in and watch every second of that game loop. With data scanning, it's labour intensive and players surely don't have time to spam a button every few seconds of the day.

If you look at the levelling data, I'm pretty certain the data scanning level of players accounts are not levelling proportionally with Piloting, Mining and Crafting.

It needs to be made easier to complete the gaming loop is all.

You may, however, want to consider looking into Starbased. Arguably, it is not (very) profitable if you have only a small portfolio of ships at this moment, but the team is working on that as we speak 👍
