Opened 4x platinum 5-crew packs and had to reboot and a few other hurdles. Basically lost out on that lovely pack opening experience and was super disappointed it wouldn't load past first crew... probably rent accounts

everything is a solana txn 0.00005, except solana token account creation, these are 0.002, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back

its one of the reasons we move to zink

There's 3 game modes.

The one in the epic game store is free to play. There's a racing mode, FPS mode and a world exploration mode.

There's Holosim, which is a 4X strategy game. Also free to play.

Then there's SAGE, where you need to purchase assets to play but you can earn $ATLAS

I would say the minimum to build a viable fleet is around $500. 16 small ships would give you a good fleet.

And then you need to buy some crew. You'll need about 40. You can buy new packs ($5) or buy them on Tensor ($2 each)

in c4, there is planets and astroids. planets can have like 10 different resources, and if you build claim stake on it you will be able to mine. mining ships are specialized for astreoids which they have different variety of resources. so having both is gud. claim stakes has build capacity called "slots".bigger the claim stake, more things you can build on it since every upgrade going to take slots. https://ses.staratlas.com/SAGE Editor Suite/index.html this is upcoming c4 editor, you can go to claim stakes and try to build different stuff to see outcome. at this point, bigger claim stake has better capacity so you can upgrade more to mine more resources on the planets, but cant talk about ROI since its NOT the FINAL version. maybe having 50 claim_stake1 is better than having 1 claim_stake4 in buy price in basic resource mining, or there will be gameplay loop where only big claim stake can mine and craft so having bigger claim stake is the real deal. its still TBA. i think there is 2 options you can do, check out the link i've sent and understand the mechanics, wait for C4 playtest and play, see which one is best fit for you. or option to buy in to different variety of claim stakes so you never be fall behind on the gameplay you will do.

to me better to create strategy from now and set your fleet in your mind with the budget you have, dont miss the playtests and upcoming features. c4 is going to be very complex, to sustain your own resources need a lot of budget. main game loop expected to be daily atlas emissions where you fight with other fleets and earn points, but having upgraded ships with "components and ship parts" will make them earn more points but if fleet is blows up on figth and loses, you also lose the upgrades you have made. to craft components and ship parts you need to mine resources with claimstakes, crews and mining ships. also need to transport them to one planet or starbase to craft the final component. and resources for your fleets and crews such as food,ammo,fuel and toolkits. it will be hard to sustain or create a loop with the small fleets and budget, so maybe better to just chill and buy it from market. if you have big budget you can go for claimstakes,crews, mining ships and transport fleets to create component crafting game loop, load the components to your fighter and bomber fleets to fight with them and earn daily points. or just go for fighter and bomber fleets. buy from another player on market. upgrade your fighter fleet and go for the war and daily points.

yeah, I imagine that smaller ships are going to be able to be rigged to be efficient enough with transport as anyone buying airbikes because they can't afford bigger ships is going to need to be able to do transport, however as things progress specilization is going to be a thing

yeah, all ships are going to be have its own value and everthing depends on their main skill, there will be boosts and decreases. like fighter ships going to have boost on fighting(currently %50 boost on data) and if you try to mine with them your mining rate will decrease(by %70 at the current data). so if you want to fight go for fighter and bounty hunter ships, if you want to craft go for claimstakes and crews, if you want to transport(there is people who does transportation and trading where one resource is cheap in station1 and buys from there to sell higher on other stations, even currently in sage there is people who does this). so think about your liking, try playtest and check out what you can do, and go for it 🔥

but if you die you lose the upgrades, and yea they will be a little expensive than just ammo and fuel resource

That's the biggest issue atm. between TX fees and the current price of atlas it can be hard to turn profits, you really have to do your research and min max. If atlas is up a bit, not so big of a deal. Hopefully zink can be the turning point that gives us profits even when atlas is low price
