I fell in love with the lore and canon here about a year ago. I started writing about a month after a got here once I was finding my way around. I'm playing as the Praetor of Progress in sage and have pretty decent fleets and a good balance of other SA assets just to give my character credibility. I'm long S.A. and plan on building a business in Galia. Chet Roberts is a Pen name I used to write under a long time ago, writing a novel was on my bucket list and the Galia back drop is perfect for the story I wanted to write. It became a trilogy. The first book is finished, and I had an agent and publishing company ready to move it ahead but they had no vision for what web 3 gaming is or how we will be living in the metaverse so I decided to self-publish which in today's world is not that difficult. I am well into the second book and I am just waiting to see how the game progresses once C4 and UE5 are well under way. I'm using existing characters from SA in the story. It's a fiction book but the old saying "The truth is stranger than fiction" is defiantly true around here. I have the theme for the final book but have not really started writing it yet.

I just started an X account to start my marketing for the book It will help Star Atlas as well I hope. I'm afraid this community is not big enough to really help launch a book in any real significant way so I decided to use my real name as the author and work it in my existing social media platforms and just blend both worlds for max exposure. I stay in the fringes of human territory, mapping unclaimed asteroids, tagging derelict wrecks for later salvage claims, avoiding anything with a faction tag. Food is simple: bulk R4 crates stacked in the cargo hold, enough for months if I ration. I donā€™t get hungry the way crews do. I manage.
Three cycles ago, deep in the MUD Phantom driftā€”an old battle scar from the Convergence where signals go strange and charts lieā€”my food stock finally flashed critical. Not zero yet, but close enough that efficiency debuffs were starting to creep in. I was debating a long burn back to a safe-zone depot when the beacon appeared.
No name. No hail. Just a single, steady pulse on an old MUD relief frequency. Coordinates only.
I didnā€™t dock. Not at first.
Instead, I parked the Lone Resolve at extreme sensor range, cloaked the signature, and watched.
The station was small, a single rotating module, lights warm and steady. Over the next 48 hours I logged twelve separate dockings. All human pilots. Mostly solo scouts like me, a few two-man haulers. None broadcast distress. None left.
I watched their ships clamp on. I watched life signs hold steady for hoursā€”sometimes days. Then, one by one, the ships went dark. Not destroyed. Justā€¦ powered down. Docked and silent. No departure burns.
I pulled fragments from open channels and dark relays.
