There could be multiple reasons for that, are you using mouse scroll to adjust the maximum speed of your ship? You can also improve your average speed by using strafes but thats more of an unintended consequence of gameplay mechanics.

Best advice I can give is try to make the best of it while its being developed. It's early, while I agree with your comment about matchmaking, doing this with cause the top players(the majority of our Ue5 gamers) to constantly fight the same top end players all of the time. We dont really have the player base atm to force any kind of match making.

Ive been on both sides of this. Ive been a top end player in games, and a lower end. A match making system is needed 100%. First you need enough players for it to make sense. Don't doubt this is coming. We want the game to be fair for all players.

Many things will come for our Ue5 game, this is just the groundwork

ie the phantom base is just to create a burn mechanisim till c4 is out
