I've played EVE Frontier during most of the tests and even more with their Founder Pack. The game is terrible. It has 20k copy-pasted empty star systems, boring casual combat, bad economy, and terrible concept about the fuel availability. Also, they spread lies about the game being fully on-chain - they have centralized account system tied to your e-mail and can restrict your access to the game any time, so all your game assets don't actually belong to you, everything in the game belongs to them. Also they have zero-tolerance refund policy. I would suggest to stay as far from the EVE Frontier as possible.

Doesn't Star Atlas escrow our assets into SAGE program? Which ATMTA has full authority over? That's why you have to deposit your NFTs from your wallet into the CSS.

Star Atlas doesn't have centralized authentication, only your wallet is used for that purpose, so you can move your assets however you like. EVE Frontier not just has classic MMO centralized authentication with e-mail and password, your game assets are stored on your account, not on your wallet - you cant simply withdraw all of them and sell if you whish to. You literally give everything you have in the game to CCP forever. They can easily add a paid subscription like in WoW any time, and if you disagree, you'll lose all "your" staff there. EVE Frontier is not fully on-chain game, and you don't own anything there.

Well if you keep your assets in your wallet sure. Once you put them in game the program owns them. So technically in game you don't. Not saying they will but it's possible for that program to be updated to do whatever they want having that authority. In reality it's all smoke and mirrors and depends on who you trust and how much you know. I've yet to see a game implement assets directly from ones wallet due to the fact you can move those assets around all willy nilly. (to be clear it's possible but the UI/UX is probably not the best and you still lock yourself to one entity who can freeze/unfreeze "your" assets)

It isn't required for playing the games, and even if it will be, I can withdraw the assets and sell them. In EVE Frontier you can't withdraw anything. And by the way they've already announced paid subscription, just for the cosmetics for now, but I'm sure they will change that in time. We are talking about EVE Online developers, remember? 🙂

They sell early access and cosmetic things for now (you can buy few small ships in Star Atlas for that amount by the way). But they need profits while there are too few payers in the game, so I'm 100% sure they will start much more aggressive monetization at some point. I think this will be paid subscription like in WoW. They don't have much options with such small fan base. You need millions of players in order to have good profits with optional cosmetics.

Funny, but they can't do anything except an EVE game, and with the Frontier they simply made a competitor to their own product 🙂 Also, do you now that you need to be a web3 programmer in order to play EVE Frontier? They are very proud of their so called smart structures (extremally important in the end-game) but in order to make them work, you actually need to program them in Solidity language. They "love" their fans so much and just said "hey, we give you the tools, so build our game for us please, and we will give you our thanks for our profits" 🙂

Right now you can earn in Sage, but this will require considerable investment in ships, while Sage itself is not as advanced as Holosim in terms of the gameplay yet. Upcoming C4 update for Sage will improve the game a lot, but don't expect its release earlier than in the end of this year. What nobody knows is what will happen with the ships' prices once C4 is out. If you want to buy the ships in advance, I would strongly recommend learning ses databases (https://ses.staratlas.com/SAGE Editor Suite/index.html).
