Be able to craft a bunch of FIC doesn't necessarily mean it's more profitable. You have to take into account the mining power needed and in fine the total asset value needed versus the return. If that make sense.

theres no refresh button anymore for the fleet status so now I have fleets that i have executed a transaction to "stop mining" the fleet, but since I cant refresh the fleet status it wont update to the proper status on the sage UI, and unfortunately F5 doesn't work nor is it working on Eve eye... for the life of me I can understand why every time Sage Labs is updated, things begin to back track to older issues that were once resolved.

My fleet in eve eye was showing the right status but it still errored out on every transaction attempt. but I took my wallet address out of eve eye and then added it back again and now the transactions are going through on eve eye, so maybe it had something to do with my ledger in eve eye but i finally got it

Hey, I've been away from the game for a while. Is Faction Fleet active again? I thought they ended that when they started Sage Labs? Can you still enlist your fleet to earn Atlas?

@daring plover for those who are interested this is final numbers on FICs. Ive added cargo cost, i used barge on all 3 factions, there were cases when ark was not enough dew to warp range so i made everyone equal on it. I counted range to "main" base on every faction (base with highest amount of crew on it) it was always carbon/hydro base, except Ustur FIC2 (hydro 2x base cos the recipe is heavily loaded with hydrogen), also frameworks was crafted on iron base and then moved (x2 less cargo) for all factions (not sure who does this way, but its optimal if you have food on that base) i also added average value for fic1+fic2, new shop refresh mechanics make it necessary. Oni has best FIC2 and worst FIC1, Ustur in the middle, they have lowest spread between FIC1 and FIC2, MUD have worst receipt overall, mostly coz they have worst base layout (diamond 3 warps away from main base) but they dont need lumanite at all (ONI/USTUR need it at 1 contract each), it can be a leveler, you need 1 less transport ship/less switching your SLY between different bases. Overall difference between worst and best faction ~6%, keeping in mind we had no changes in base layout with contract release this is phenomenal eco team job @regal kindle @gusty ridge ❤️

Well, I try to maximize profits and compound, but i have to admit i now went the lazy route and just rent out my fleets and do a bit of crafting on the side, to accumulate resources for the time claim stakes start and we can craft modules.

How did you get started? Did you get larger ships right away?

Well, crafting is everything you can craft in Sage at the moment, like frameworks and so on, and the claimstakes are gonna be the main source of extracting resources in the game later on, should be released later this year, right now you use these claimstakes on the main site to get resources, later on you deploy them in sage and build on them and expand and so on. there is an old manual which gives some hints, https://staratlas.com/newsroom/game-manuals its probably somewhat outdated now

well most of us started in the faction fleet, stake ships and earn atlas, then when sage started we deployed the ships there and started extracting and crafting resources

over time more and more things get added to sage

crew was added and next will be "C4"

Also, soon the Unreal Engine 5 version might get some resources for players in there, which then can be used in Sage to craft more things.

So all the gameplay loops intertwine with each other more and more till we get a full-blown MMO with a crazy on-chain economy

yeah it always depends on the current market and what people do, the main issue for small players was the fleet must be big enough to outperform the solana txn costs

so there is a treshold for a certain size of fleet after that its profitable

the fleet needs a certain amount of ships in it to be profitable

To play the UE5 game you need a PC.
If you want to play sage (the browsergame) thats a different topic, you wont need the epic launcher for that. You’ll need assets though (ships and crew) and a proper strategy.

My ledgers just sit there till I manually tell it to update. Not sure if there is a way to automate it but I wouldn't in case there is a bug in the update so I normally wait at least a month to do the updates for the ledgers that I use weekly. I have some old ledgers that have never been updated since I set them up but those are my deep cold wallets as I like to call them.

anyone else notice that raw materials cost more than the already crafted items in marketplace? for instance aerogel cost .0067 atlas and uses 4 nitrogen and 2 silica to craft... both resources sell for .001089 and .001398, that comes out to .007152.... after crafting fees and time spent crafting youd think aerogel would sell for more right? and its not like silca and nitrogen are used in any other crafting recipes right? ive noticed this for just about all the items in marketplace, the raw materials typically sell for more.... is there a reason for this?

Market does not have a ton of liquidity so things like this can happen. Take advantage if you notice it.

Raw mats are easier to use anywhere (future crafting, building, missions).
Crafted goods are stuck being "end products" without enough players needing them yet.
No dismantling system = no arbitrage pressure to fix the imbalance.

i guess when we get more things to craft in sage, these things get balanced much faster on the market

I found the solution.
Create the fleet with 1 capital ship.
Then add the other 3 one by one.

It’s not a points issue, it’s a crew issue.
I don’t know why.
But adding them one by one works

Yeah, thanks! I can confirm it. I fixed it by playing around with the crew like you said… I made a smaller fleet, noticed the partial one had more crew than needed, so I removed the extras and finished the fleet.
