just tried SAGE Labs. Experience is horrible with all the bugs (commands not issued, constant signatures, there were two accounts created,...). I spend cca 10$ just in transaction fees to move around a bit and to mine some Iron ore. I bought 1 XS ship 13$ and 2 crew 10$ for it and some resources 1$. All together cca 33 $. This is an amount I pay for AAA game and have some fun. This thing needs serious work...
everything is a solana txn 0.00005, except solana token account creation, these are 0.002, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back
for small players its very tough i recommend this video
We will look at all game loops in Starbased and compare them from the perspective of a small player:

The game in its current state in SAGE is not for casual gaming. Everyone participating in SAGE is doing so because of the profits, and unfortunately the entry barrier is quite high, currently sitting at around $500-$1k minimum to make it worth your while.
The backbone of the in-game economy is being built, and most participants in SAGE are the engines. And we also help with revenue stream for ATMTA through marketplace fees, and primary sales on the marketplace.
But if you are looking for a AAA experience, that is still going to be a ways out, so keep watching this space, maybe in the not too distant future there is something more to your liking to play in UE5

something seems off about the amount of my fuel consumed as well, less in CSS than i was expecting but have not investigated any further
Between Oni 5 - CSS 2packlite 1 om 1r8 goes 30k fuel, it was less before
same, i had a script hauling resources back to CSS and noticed fuel was low
true, all my fleets are stuck now with not enough fuel

A quick public service announcement: everyone using SLY for scanning, multiply your regeneration cooldown by 6x, or you'll waste SOL trying to scan while still on cooldown. 🙏

all factions had R4, essential resources in both sides, mud was extremely concentrated on left side, medium sized players couldnt be alone on right alone because of food, was not viable stay on right side without supply of food

Over the last couple months, we received multiple requests to adjust how the resources were laid out in MUD's control of Galia. We took our time to carefully assess the request, asked for direct feedback from individuals part of the MUD faction and are making a couple changes based on our findings.
• Swapped the resources found at MRZ-3 with MRZ-7
• Swapped the resources found at MRZ-4 with MRZ-6

I'm not really getting an "error" it's just not prompting me to confirm on wallet with "unrecognized format". -- Well I was able to confirm transaction to change avatar - but nothing is happening when trying to accept to airdropped silver card pack or gold card pack

Some troubleshooting steps, try a hard refresh with Ctrl + F5, if issue persists, attempt on a different browser, if issue persists, can try on a different wallet (Solflare for example), if still not resolved, probably opening a ticket would be your best option. #ticket

Hm...From what I see, I was doing an exchange of resources from previous MRZ 4 and MRZ9. Now it seems I either have to switch to 6 and 7, and the fuel cost and waiting time (X2) goes up because I'll have to make at least 2 to 3 warps between them per half trip cos the distance between them is higher than between 4 and 9. Or I'll have to content myself with movements between MRZ4, 9 and 3 which still increases the time and fuel cost I need to move my resources around. I'm not sure whom the devs got their info from but it seems obvious that those with large ships and fleets were highly likely the ones who provided the information since they have large transport ships and can move a much larger distance with warpping. Obviously this change is not friendly for those with mid sized ships and fleets.

What is a RFR?

With the new scans drops and cooldown, will we even be able to get 10% of SDU out of the total possible scans for our fleets? Since it's still possible to get 10 consecutive scans with no SDUs (and I'm taking about the probability higher than 25%), and this will be roughly 2 hours with 0 gain.
I'm already seeing 4 scans with 0 SDUs and am waiting for the 5th scan. This is a wasted 1 hour if I do not get anything in the next 10 minutes. Not to mention the food that goes into the scans
I changed my timer to 755 sec .. I normally do 2200 of SDU an HR 50K a day. and added three fleets as well .. just cleared cache/cookies on both browsers and started over. .. also burned through .03 Sol in 2.5 Hrs for some reason WTF.
Well, let me know if you still get 2200 SDU an hour, 50k a day or if you get more/less. From what I'm seeing now, I'm getting less than what I'm originally getting. I'll run for the next few days and see...

This resource swap for MUD at the MRZ is a farce, you've basically moved the honeypot base (hydrogen and copper and whale food supply) from the left of the map to the right of the map. Players building economy, mining, crafting around mrz4 rekt as it takes time to move all of that to a station where whales are supplying food. I suspect this supply of food will now move to MRZ6. This only suits whales who can now upgrade those right side bases and everyone left behind because they've had time to prepare and everyone given 1hour notice and mid crafting which takes Weeks. Didn't even ask the community for opinion. Honestly what a poor decision and essentially manipulation of the game to serve the benefit of a handful of whales with clout asking to make this change
So where is oni' and usters' honeypot base and are they going to conveniently have it moved to the side of the map that hasn't been developed yet? Or are they going to have to fly there and develop organically
That creates massive imbalance in the game and MUD is now going to advance so much quicker than the other factions

RFR stands for "Request for Resources", and is represented by a recipe that you will craft in one starbase and deliver to another starbase to get a fixed payment (in ATLAS) for the RFR. We don't know yet how much RFRs will be worth, as that has not been announced yet.

I DON'T. The cooldown time is 6x, which goes by calculation is supposed to be the same. However in reality, when one gets to scan more times, there's more of a chance to get something. Now it's cut by 6 times. I mean yes if one lucky, every 10 minutes the person gets something, then that'll be really cool. However reality ain't so nice. One will probably call it lucky to get 1 out of 5 or 6 scans and that's 1 hour's work of scanning.

probabilities average out with volume, so while it might take longer to average out, the longer cooldown's positives far outweigh the negatives. Yes, it will take 6x longer for your average success chances to average out (con), but you are also spending 6x less in tx fees (pro)
the end result, over a large sample size, is exactly the same as before in terms of the odds of success, and your farmed SDUs. Whereas the impact on transactions, making them cheaper (because you are doing 6x less tx), is actually a pretty significant difference, for the better
I think you are forgetting to take into account the fuel cost that that goes into the equation when you have a longer cooldown time. Because a longer cooldown time will mean you have to move about more frequently to get a good probability square, equating to more txs, more sols/atlas needed, more fuel for the movement.
Unless you are saying you are just going to park the fleet there and not move, then there won't be that additional fuel cost.
I would argue that longer cooldowns mean less movement, not sure how you are calculating that you need to move more often, considering the cooldown timer is 6 times longer, doesn't really make sense.
I mean, yes, if you are trying to farm sectors that are 50% + probability, you will move alot, but you shouldn't be doing that in the first place
especially if you have a small fleet
you should gauge what percentage success chance is ideal based on your fleet size, and your fleet size should not be too big
I move my fleets to other squares when I get near or below 20%. I don't specifically aim for 50% (that's pretty hard to do in the first place). In the old config, my fleet's fuel will last for the whole journey and back (with spare sometimes) after all the food is delepted. Now, that's not happening for me. And my movements are the same as previous frequency.
as an example, with the previous SDU mechanics, if your fleet had a cap of 50 SDUs per successful scan, you could technically farm a sector that is 5% success chance, and you would cap your fleet scan stat. 5% is a low number, but in theory, as long as you were in a sector that had a 5% chance, you would be maxxing your successes, meaning no real point to move unless succes chance went lower than that. Obviously, you would probably look for higher probability sectors anyway, but trying to chase 50%+ sectors with a fleet that has a 50 SDU cap, is really not ideal at all.
I dunno if you use automation, but 20% is still quite high, unless you are doing it manually.

there are lots of factors to consider, it is most certainly not a one size fits all thing
fleet size, and SDU capacity per fleet is the most important stats to take into account
I have done 12 consecutive scans without any drops previously, and that's with a 2+ minute cooldown. Now I see 8 consecutive with no drops and the cooldown is 10+minutes.
end result is the same
because even though it takes 6x longer, when you get a successful hit, you will get 6x more SDUs
The only con I can see with this change is that it takes 6x longer for your probabilities to average out, but aside from that, over thousands of attempts, the end result is the same as before. So as long as you are patient, and don't mind that you will sometimes get 12 fails in a row (quite normal), and just let it keep going, you'll be fine.
That's if you get 1 out of 6 hits that will be the same as previous. if you don't average out at 1/6 or above, you're at a loss

From what I'm seeing now from the scan data, the probability of the squares is not 6x. What I mean is the last time lets say a square at 50% will take maybe 1-2 or so hours to go down to less than 20%. Now it's still the same taking 1-2 hours to get from 50% to 20%. This is the point where additional fuel cost comes in because one has to move. I'm not getting roughly the same amt of SDU when I get back to SB even after all the fuel is spent.
on the flip side, because the cooldown is 6x longer, there would be less scans required between when the "cosmic waves" will circle back to your area. It balances out in the end.
That's if I'm still at the square. The higher likelihood is I'm back at the SB refilling and misses out on the re-circled "cosmic wave"

With the increased cooldown you can now move to a better area before trying to scan again.
It will average out. remember, if you are in a sector that has 20% success chance, that means that technically, out of 11 attempts, only 2.2 should hit. You will get a run where you hit 4 successes, it will happen, guaranteed.

Id say the biggest change with SDU scanning is law of averages. You can go on hot/cold streaks now.
The other big change is you can now afford to use more time looking for a better location.
If you used 30 seconds to find a good location before but scam time was 100 seconds, that's big downtime. But now searching for 30 seconds out of 600 seconds isn't too bad.

One of my complaints with the old system was that I was that I have to spend such a long time moving to a new location after a successful scan. (I'm manually scanning not using automations). This helps with that a bit.
I think filling your entire cargo hold after a successful scan could work better for both fees and actual people vs bots. Could increase the weight of SDUs to balance it if needed.
That's a good question. I'm not sure what the break even cost is on a scanning fleet, but it's heavily dependant on the probability of success where you scan.

the real issue here is changing peoples mindset. Even if someone put in $100 bucks and had 100% APR, making $100 bucks total. (+100 capital). thats only 27 cents per day. no one is going to play a game for 27 cents per day if there goal is to make money. gameplay needs to be engaging and fun. I'm honestly not sure how anyone is supposed to make money at the lower end unless its skill based. e.g. UE5.

I think there is something wrong with crafting speeds.. A craft that should take 16min if there is food, at a tier 2 starbase when there is no food should craft at 27,5% speed, that being 1hr crafint time.. but it takes 3hrs 40 min wich is 27,5% of the already slowed time.. the 0,275 factor is applied twice.. ending at a 7,5% speed...

Why is it taking 12 minutes between scans?
your going to want more then 1 tip in a fleet for mining as the sol fees tend to add up
Anyone else facing issues with cargo? Sometimes the cargo is full but it shows as empty when docking. Even after refreshing, hard refresh, close and reopen browser or restarting PC the issue persists. And only hours later the cargo suddenly shows.
use the refresh buttion before you dock, undock etc to make sure things are correct ie the in app buttion not a global refresh

ie its a ui thing not an on chain thing
Not sure about that because I mined the resource, 100% sure, got to the SB and couldn't unload because it shows 0. And could do a full load with other resources. Strange
Haven't disbanded this fleet in a like a month. Could that also cause issues? Maybe a self destruct could help. Clean slate and build a fresh fleet

the tulle ai starter pack website is also just black when i go to it.
if your looking to get into sage odds are a starter pack is not exactly a good deal due to the sol fees, scanning is slightly better now with the recent changes though
your going to need to calc out what you need to get per pull to mitigate fees

Depends how many ships you have , but you can definitely try Starbased , it has much higher earning potential ! https://based.staratlas.com/
Have 1 pierce 4 and 6 Opal Jet, just small and common ships

We have Starbased live where the utility is higher, but it requires you to strategize and manage the fleets, so recommend investigating a bit first
probably can't be super profitable with that fleet on starbased for now
Ok, Im while to buy some more ships, but cant be nothing to much expensive at the moment, any advice on what worth to buy?
You should first try the game loops and see what you like more , because there are different type of ships to chose from .
