Right now it's literally a scrapyard of thousands of assets, useless for most players, except for some required to move crew, and that will soon end with proper transporting.

Well, if you think that there is no way that we can make xxs useful in SAGE ever again, and there are more than enough for racing that never gonna be used, then we might as well destroy them.

but I think that currently the problem is that we have bad game design that makes them useless and we should rather fix it then trying to get rid of the ships

like for example we have the unibomba and x4 ships that are supposed to be focused on combat - maybe they can become usefull again at some point

racing ships might also find a purpose, although it is contra intuitive to have a whole fleet with racing ships from a lore point of view

still we have a problem with the way players can enter the game for a initial low cost

right now ( according to my research ) it is possible to enter and start playing Star Citizen for about 45usd

if Star Atlas wants to compete with SC then there should be a similar cost to enter and start grinding your way up

1. You can mine at space stations? I thought you mine asteroids.

2. I start mining and it instantly says “This fleet has stopped mining (cargo is full).” Sure enough the cargo hold shows full. So I stop mining and it shows like 24 hydrogen in my cargo hold. Huh?

1. You're mining in a sector. The space stations are the sectors' central hubs. It may seem like you're staying at the station when you look at the grid, but when you undock you actually spend some fuel to mine at said sector. You're, in fact, mining the asteroids there - though on-chain it doesn't make a difference, coordinate-wise.

2. that's just the UI not updating properly. If you go watch your fleet on eveeye, you'll see it's actually operational on-chain. Or just refresh the page and it should update.

1, at the moment you can mine on any station of your faction, just undock and start mining (think of it as some asteroid belt is discovered at that sector you find info in the details menu of any station
2 you need ammo (except for mining ships) and food to mine

If SDU miners are supposed to be the little guys, like me and my friends. I have no incentive to even try to craft golden tickets since the market for SDU's is so low right now. All these mats are already stored by whales. So instead of 600k tickets being put into each raffle there will be a million or more this time. The SDU's acted as a bottle neck against the whales to make it closer to fair than it is now.
