That's not how it works. Interoperability and composability means anyone can build on the game or interact with it. It gives enormous opporunties to builders and the community to build WITH the team. So they can focus on their objectives. They are not going to write a guide for every community driven project. The community has already done this.

Eveeye has no access to your passwords. SLY can have access to your passwords. It’s very very dangerous.

while we wait for devs to fix, and you'd like to try to get installs done via SLY/EVE, here is a short tutorial for the workaround

0 - check your desired install details via EVE, for example it tells me upgrading/install 1M EMAG will take 1000 cerw 4hr 26min

1 - use EVE to check if your crew are really free, for example i have 1 crew available in MRZ1 confirmed to install

2 - go to SLY and scroll to the bottom and manually input the craft, for example 1M EMAG UPGRADE

3 - after 1 minute refresh and open status update. if you see UPGRADING or CRAFTING then you are good, if its starting, something is wrong and need to restart process

4 - after your upgrade is completed, both SLY (as well as the lagging BASED UI) should say its completed, and i find the best way is >> go to BASED >> SB >> Operations >> "staff efforts" > "install" button is the best way to complete the cycle

If SLY became completely malicious tomorrow all it could do is move my ships around. Couldn’t withdraw them or any resource and has no access to my broader wallet.

If you put all your stuff on a hot wallet, don’t use player profile to air gap yourself, and then just automate using automatically updating scripts off the internet…

SLY isn’t your vulnerability.

Nope. The team got caught off guard with the current issues. They were deep into preparing for Star Comm V2, and the original team from V1 isn’t around anymore. So with this issue you have a team that didn’t build this current setup, trying to troubleshoot and fix it despite it being very different from what they’ve been building. The heart of it is translating and representing data on the UI fast enough. All we know is that literally the entire blockchain staff other than those preparing for the crew release, are currently full time on fixing it.

this is my honest reasoning: if the SLY tool either stops working or turns out to be exploitable/bad, then we go to 0 in less than a week because there is no working alternative from the team. So, given this, is it really risky to use it? 0=0

I played labs manually for a long time until there was clearly no problem with automation. Then I setup an automation to gather resources and bring them to the CSS.

I stopped automations when starbased was released because overhauling my automations was too difficult.

I put a lot of energy into getting hot wallet support working perfectly. Getting all the bugs ironed out.

Now that hot wallets work I've been playing manually the last two months using a Keystone wallet. My main goal is to understand the COST of playing based, and if it's possible for players to be profitable without automations.

But seriously there’s lots of great deals out there. Hero has some cool stuff going for it. Upgraded components, very small supply for a medium, was the first medium ship offered with the Opod on day one, can swap to different roles and functions, further along in UE5 than most other ships.

But if you were to get one right now, it wouldn’t be the most discounted medium.

Packlite is also really good at warping. There are very few scenarios where the extra range on the Om makes a difference. It's a little bit more fuel efficient, but Packlite has bigger cargo. I personally prefer the Packlite.

There's a lot of SBs with 10.44 AU distances. OM is good for those. Warp 10.2 and then subwarp the rest. The subwarp time burns the cooldown clock.
