I wish that were the case.... If I look at my SOL balance before I stop mining, then after I have unloaded, I am down 0.0026 SOL. Maybe it is not releasing the rent account or something? It's burning 0.006 SOL when stop and only giving 0.002 back.

That’s actually pretty hard, practically everything that you could call an asset is tokenized 🤔

XP is probably the biggest thing. Game progress things like achievements, ship mastery, etc.

Like I can’t transfer the fact that I’ve mastered flying a Compakt Hero, or that I achieved X in an event. As such I can’t transfer anything that depends upon those things with like special access or perks tied to them unless those perks are themselves tokenized, which seems unlikely.

New player question. When I go to my local inventory on the central starbase and try to transfer food and fuel to my fleet, my wallet gives me the message "! No changes impacting asset ownership found" and no fuel or toolkits get transferred. I'm stuck here on this and really scratching my head as to what I'm doing wrong

Your last action was warp or subwarp? If it was subwarp - fuel should be charged upon exiting and it might appear that you are idle on the starbase sector, but actually be out of fuel to exit the subwarp. Assistant seems to report an error while it should report you idle, which leads me to believe that you have not exited subwarp.

yeah, sly puts just enough fuel and if you exited manually you wasted one sector worth of fuel for traveling

you can do a little trick with assistant - make sure you have cargo full and add additional fuel to transport back and forth. If cargo is full it will attempt to put the fuel in the tank for transport. Depends on the fleet but for example - you transport 1000 fuel and bring back 1000 fuel. If you are not transporting from a base that is really far you should have enough free space in fuel tank to bring some additional with you just in case

Yeah, but would be nice if small players that cannot get data runners still get a decent returns on scanning. With density in the middle of the map that can stay at less than 5% for hours and about 1% to 5% density in the safe zone and no cap on scan fleets is like telling me that I need to spent at least 1000 bucks if I want to participate in the scanning game. Not even talking about trying to optimize a fleet for it

Also it is now made in such way that you are forced to use bots. Manual scanning gave advantage before and it was possible to send an unibomba 10x fleet to the middle of the map and scan manually for an hour then go back to resupply. Now food cost per scan is decreased and cooldowns are increased. So if I decide to try and play the scanning game as a human being I will need to click 2-3 hours with the least unoptimized fleet for food consumption, cargo and cooldown.

What if I try to optimize the fleet according to the new meta? Compact hero will need to scan for about a day constantly on cooldown. And DataRunners also need a lot of clicks to fill their cargo full of sdus

I am of the opinion, that most of these activities that we are currently doing, will end up being completely outside the price range of the smaller player. That is not to say the smaller player will have nothing to do, as I am sure they will factor that in, but these activities we are doing now, are essentially the building blocks of the economy, and their complexity will become much more intricate the more the game gets developed. that is my two cents on the matter..

I know, it is just that I still think it is too early to tell small players that they don't belong in the rts as other game loops do not exists at the moment.

Also there is a chance scanning is re-balanced a few more times after we get some data so I am voicing my opinion. Currently it seems that adding toolkit consumption to scanning in addition to the food might make it interesting again. Lets say we make the following change:

1. Keep current cooldowns as they are
2. Keep food consumption linked to the crew count and use integer numbers. Add food consumption for DataRunners - all crew needs to eat this is the cost of running any operation.
3. Make scanning cost toolkits for all ships except DataRunners.
4. Keep DataRunners OP by giving them more SDU found per scan than other classes.
5. Increase SDU found for all ships.

Example ( numbers are pretty rough ):
Airbike: 10 food/scan, 3 toolkits/scan, 3 sdu/scan
Maxhog: 20 food/scan, 10 toolkits/scan, 12 sdu/scan
Tufa: 20 food/scan, 20 toolkits/scan, 25 sdu/scan
Rayfam: 20 food/scan, no toolkits, 60 sdu/scan

So now I need to make sure I send my good scanning fleet to a good sector and I can finish a scanning op in about an hour or so. Maybe 2-4 hours theoretically until I full the rayfam cargo if I fly it manually to the good sectors and jump with that warp

Ok, so current entry point for players that have interest in leveling up DataRunner xp need to have DataRunner ship. Gameplay is move the DataRunner some place near the center and let it scan using the script for a day. No need to make scanning too complicated and rewarding to players who monitor the map and want to engage in manual scanning from time to time.

My sentiment is I added another ship to the fleet and I’m not even bothering with Econ or trying to “earn” grinding SAGE right now. It’s easier and less stressful and I can just focus on UE5. There’s definitely people making money in SAGE, but I’d rather wait for the browser game to be closer to a full and more refined product with combat, missions, alternate game loops etc.

Yeah I picture just sitting in my garage and hanging out, people come in with missions and I just slap together the modules on my Hero in whatever way makes sense and off we go!

My bet is a multi role will be able to get like 80% as good as another ship of its price for like +50% of the cost. That it’s just about flexibility.

Like equipping your multi role to be a good fighter might cost 250 USDC in todays market and it still won’t beat an F4. But you didn’t have to buy an F4 etc.

Cheaper than buying multiple ships, but also never quite as good when it specializes as a dedicated one.

But I think it’ll be loads of fun.

It’ll be the most customizable class in the game and will really feel like you can make it your own.

Druid can be Tank, or DPS, can do some stuff rogues can do, spell cast / heal, can fly… They aren’t the best at any of those but being able to pick and choose and do all of them is super cool.

I think will be what multi-role is like.

For people who want to sample everything and don’t care if their random cargo / transport build is the best in the game as long as it’s good etc.

I loved playing Druid for those reasons. Whatever folks needed you could be an okay version of it.

I actually want the hero BECAUSE it has one of each module type. Once ships are "traded in", having these options for one's own ships will be nice.

However, it is likely that, a multirole ship won't perform as well in the counterpart's respective areas due to the hull and characteristics of the individual ship itself.

Think of it like "aerodynamics" in space, but there isn't any air. 😂

There is no drag Coefficient, however, there is mass and other characteristics that should play it's part for physics in space, in game, making ships "specialized" or "fit for purpose".

If you check the hero components, it has alot of different hardpoints of different sizes, so to be sure it is highly customizable. But what it gains in being customizable, it loses no doubt in not being able to use those hardpoints for other things. eg: maybe you can customize the ship to be a great fighter ship, but it might not be using all the hardpoints it has available to do so, meaning you are losing out on something.

It changes all the time. Which size / price range?

Like for medium the Hero wins for me right now but my thoughts on it are based around totally different values and priorities than most.

For small I really like the X6.

For large I love the Greenader. Thripid maybe number 2?
