SA is very thin in assets so this is actually good for long term gaming mechanics. Now we have passive biomass, copper etc and get plants recipes to make. For example make medicine for crew after they went to battle and injured or other kinds of plants that could buff them.
This can bring more ideas in the future for what we can do and economic loops

The gamble on any asset in here frankly... I bough ships years ago that are still underwater... I made the mistake of going big early on ships, not polis/tokens... and now realize that ships will never get back to the original value... not for a LONG time... I think Claims/mining installations might be different though... as we are trying to build a real economy..

So you wont want to dilute those to fast, as they have to pick up the slack once we are done building the basic stations...

The crying I think that will happen is when IRL players are depended upon to do all the mining from installations/claims, and you cant just go to one planet and mine at will... I also think ships mining (depending on type of course) will be seriously nerfed when we make this change...

As a base on a planet should FAR outweight the mining volume, time, cost, etc. versus a ship powered by even 20 crew...

Right now, that loop is not ready... so everyone is spoiled whether they realize it or not...

Then, I'd check out youtuber Beyond The Horizon's videos. Again, it's a little outdated since the game just recently changed but it will give you the gist of how to do things in starbased

I have made a few tests, looks like it works that way, but there are other stuff aside from crew that need more work. Example - you cannot withdraw less than 1 sol from vault wallet right now. You can deposit some as a workaround using the wallet address but the interface is locked to single digits. So you are locking your sol there unless you have 1-2 sol in your wallet to deposit enough to make the vault have 1 sol and then withdraw it ( only workaround I can think off right now ).

So I would advise to wait until there is clear docs on how to use and team looks at most critical bugs first

So for your racing ship you might want to find a subwarp engine from Rainbow T5. Something like that
