Is the scale right in UE5? C9 seems just as big as the C11. On marketplace almost all the stats (height, length, and width) are about doubled

I read yesterday's discussion with great interest and would like to contribute my thoughts. I believe that the main problem with Starbase is rooted in a flawed architecture, at the level of principles rather than methods.

Let me explain. Currently, Food and Toolkits can be seen as a form of taxation, while the individual factions are comparable to states. In the real world, how are taxes handled? Fundamentally, they are based on two principles:

1. Proportionality and progressivity: For taxes to be "accepted" without generating discontent, they must be proportional to the services offered and progressive based on income. This is the principle that guides developed economies.
2. Governance: States have a clear system of governance (republics, monarchies, even dictatorships have one). This allows them to impose taxes and collect them. Currently, in Starbase, we lack a system of governance and also a system of proportional and progressive taxation. We only have taxes that are perceived as unfair and disproportionate.

I agree with the proposals already put forward by many of you, namely:

1. Make crafting in CSS almost free: Tier 6 could be considered the level of self-sufficiency.
2. Review the balances on the consumption of food and toolkits in Starbases: For example, consumption could decrease progressively as you move away from CSS, incentivizing space exploration.
3. Do not change the LP distribution methods for now: This will allow us to assess the impact of the previous changes on game dynamics, avoiding the introduction of too many variables at the same time.

I am convinced that these actions could resolve 90% of the current complaints. I do not believe, in fact, that it is fair to blame individual players for poor cooperation, when in reality the system itself does not incentivize cooperation and does not even create the conditions for fair cooperation.

The same proportion of food and tool boxes should be added to MRZ-36 and MRZ-2. This game doesn't currently have a player base that can do this.

You can imagine how irritating it is as extra time is spent on (what I see as) unnecessary transport of resources just to get the products I need so that subsequent actions (like mining) can continue. I mean currently CSS is the only place where tier 2 and above products can be produced (unless a fraction got a tier 2 base that's not CSS, and even then, one likely still needs to do transportation).

In the MUD discord server we are co-ordinating our efforts including upkeep times for crafting and upgrading starbases. This is the most guild collaboration seen so far in the game and it is what the devs were hoping for. The tasks are too tough at the moment and the rewards need tweaking but the team is already rebalancing things and likely will for the next few months.

Taking part in an pre-alpha early access game like this requires faith and patience. There will be a lot of highs and lows.

The food consumption could be two-sided: a „ground-consumption“ wich reflects, how many crew is actually crafting + your own consumtion over the period you are actively crafting your recipe. So if the station is less populated, your food-costs are lower but rise as soon as more crew is crafting.

When under attack, food, tool and ammo consumption rise by X.

Now we don't. But the alternative wasn't fixed with shutting it down.

Labs made things worse, but shutting it down before rebalancing made it worser.

I think the V0 thoughts didn’t have SB consumption. But of course that doesn’t make sense and it’s much more logical that they would have essentially resting and combat / siege metabolisms.

Allows for more realistic considerations in terms of logistics and operations and allows more involved war and siege tactics.

Like starving out a system.

Instead of having to directly fight it etc.

Also prevents a universe full of max tiered bases.

Upgrading becomes a real conversation and thought process.

Value provided vs work and time and effort to sustain.

And of course again, this makes all of it much more real.

but frameworks is a ratio of: frameworks 1:48 LP
Just calculate your food contributions as cost in your loops (caveat, the current model doesn't really support small players trying to make their own loops, they will have to piggy back off bigger players and guilds)

Sincerely, when food still being necessary to craft and mantain everything, but costing 6x more than it should cost, I think I prefer to keep my fleets waiting, than spending money.

Food is not supposed to be a profit making endeavor, it should be calculated as a cost in your loops. food is 1:1 for LP, but not everything is, you need to just inform yourself, do some research, and see what is possible. With your fleet size, you can definitely be making some healthy profits, just takes some organization and planning.
