Depends why it fails. If it times out, you don't get charged. If it hits the chain and the instruction errors, you get charged.

Now if you spam click and they all go through, the follow on transactions will most likely result in an instruction error because the state after the first one is changed. And those would all result in tx fees.

As long I saw people saying, the main problem is that bots can know the perfect fee to put their transactions on, because solana process like X numbers of transactions per block, so if it process 1000, the bots know the perfect fee to be in that 1000, that´s why we keep having failed transactions. This is a huge problem to solana, because it shows it still not prepared for a huge mass adoption.

Okay so in the beginning, there was rent. At the end of each Solana epoch, a small amount of sol was subtracted from every account UNLESS it stored 2 years worth of that rent cost. The rent cost is directly proportional to how large that account account is (how many bytes it stores).

Now, rent is no longer collected because you can't actually have an account with less than the rent exempt amount (2 years worth of rent). This was changed to simplify Solana and make tiny accounts that do nothing but clog the network impossible.

A "rent account" isn't a thing. If you scan the entire Solana codebase and docs, you won't find that term at all.
