I slept on it and although I used OTC to make all my big ship purchases I get where you guys are coming from. Ultimately we are all here for the longevity of the Project and to see it through and all it takes to really F something up is some scumbag to claim that you guys were complicit in letting scams happen and start a law litigation thing. Unfortunately we live in a time where there are a LOT of people who will do everything to blame others rather than accept responsibility for their own actions so you gotta protect yourselves the best way possible.

As much as it sucks, i get why it is needed.

With all of that being said I have a little bit of a compromise for the team. Obviously this puts more power in the Bots hands now via the marketplace. OTC was a place where we could actively decide to not engage with bots. Is there any way that the team could just put a little bot icon with a footnote in the marketplace noting the active bots? This would give us all a choice to at least avoid bots since we all know there is no way to stop them while also showing the community that the team recognizes the issue and is active in trying to help. Would also not be very much of a heavy lift and wouldn't take too much effort to implement.

I would even go a bit further and say that if an OTC trading group is run by trusted community members there are a lot of social/community mechanisms and systems you can implement to build reputation and try to ensure safety that we of course can't do given the limitations mentioned above.

I will share this idea internally and see if something happens. I know that bots are 'allowed' because they provide liquidity to the market and help reduce the spreads. But maybe there's some sort of middle ground that can be reached

The whole "provide liquidity" and "reduce the spread" arguments are absurd (not pointing fingers at you, just at the argument that pops up every time this discussion surfaces). Plain and simple, they scalpel everyone trying to trade. Especially ships. There's no liquidity providing, they literally keep undercutting everything constantly.

The amount of people enraged about this practice should be enough for a simple "flag" to have been implemented. We've been asking for this for a long time, and it's proven it works from other DApps.

It won't remove bots, but it will give the general public a clear picture of what's happening.

Well, bots also have their limits on how high they go with the bid.

If the bot sets a higher bid than you is because you are still not the best price the market is willing to pay.

I've been trying to get a few X4s and Hogs, and it's been 4 days of a struggle against it. Because unadvised people keep falling for 0.01 differences in price, and only the bots are being fed. It's infuriating.

And this is just one example. Every single time I decide to buy ships, I debate on doing it, or putting the $ elsewhere. Exclusively because of bots. And I'm not the only one, unfortunately (or fortunately...)

There's absolutely NO downside to implementing a flag that tags accounts as bots.

Simple: LP is gained through depositing stuff to upgrade/maintain bases. You can mine all that in Labs, and send it to Based. Still make use of Assistant, while slowly working on setting up your logistic network in Based. Especially if you scan. Scanning requires outpost fed with tools/fuel. 🤓

You rent “memory” to store (deposit) data (ressources, components, etc). If you don’t want to loose the rent you should transfer all stuff into your wallet. As soon as you take the data off the storing accounts, you get your SOL back.
You have to claim back you SOL for the creation of fleets by clicking the red “you have redundant tokens” banner in the inventory section.

When starbase is live, will it fix the not loading map, not being able to exit warp or mining and around 10 refresh F5 to do a single transaction... or is this block chain based and out of the hands of the Devs? I use chrome and firefox, alternate, F5 all the time, refresh wallet. It take so much effort and time. I just want to know if this is fixed in starbase or we can have the same issues. Love you SA and will always support you and stay, but now sometime I am spending 15 minutes just to get a simple warp done and very busy with work.
