I agree, I have been on the other end of the rope trying to push a service that was in Beta, but users been using it for production and paying for it so I know how it feels.

I did everything in my power to keep them informed including pinned messages on the forum and warning messages in the service interface when possible.

Saved me some trouble communicating this to each affected user separately and flooding of my ticket system. Also kept the good practices that were tested and working once the service was officially released and even more users started to come in.

The entire crypto world is experiencing a bull run and all chains are under heavy demand. Solana is a technology built on actual machines not rainbows and sunshines. Thus it does not have unlimited supply. As the chain gets used more and more, the only way to use it and avoid spam transactions is actual users need to pay a bit more. Fees are still insanely low. LEss then $1 per day. If you were on Ethereum you would pay $100,000 for the same TX.

the entire chain is not going to adopt firedancer

we do have a bunch of potato computers which are slowing us down. if they adopt firedancer then maybe we can increase CU limits and send it

but it will take some time for adoption

there is currently a discussion (happening RIGHT NOW) in between Toly, some validators, and some solana engineers about increasing the CU limit

it just puts the chain at risk

Thank you for the answer, I am aware that the current state of market has increased a demand, but Solana has been always presented as a very cheap blockchain with transactions for fractions of a penny. That was the case up until the recent updated. some transactions are 0.00251 SOL, which is in current price ~$0.4

Based on what I've seen, it's dependent on the type of activity you are doing, not randomly...anyway, I guess what I am trying to say is, that transaction costs need to be slowly taken to the picture, which was not the case prior the update.

The CEO himself is fully aware of issues. For example, he teases starcomm just as much as the rest of us. They are aware, they are working on it. I’m frustrated also, but the team has communicated and they are working on solutions. The issues are complex and I’d rather them focus on solving rather than typing technical essay reports to us.

But again it’s still wrong to say these network issues were due to solana network as many people were saying. No. Not necessarily. Take accountability.
It’s like me saying:
“I killed someone because this world is difficult and dark. If the world was just good people I would have never done it. Not my fault.” Except the fact I never decided to be born in this world SA decided to be part of solana blockchain.

The reality is there are issues and they can communicate the truth and work confidently in improving those issues. Simple. It’s not about writing essays. It’s about simply communicating the truth which takes few minutes.

Dude they were having rpc issues and Starcomm issues were exacerbated by this. Prio fees were going to be implemented into starbased since it was close but they made a fix to labs after community asked for it

Believe it or not the team isn’t always trying to screw us over. They’ve been quite open about the changes and improvements being made. Read back through chat you see the blockchain guys in here every day/night answering questions along with working to fix stuff

They are some of the most talented people working on solana and are very aware of the issues

Tbh the only thing I heard throughout these last 10 days (how long these network issues are going so far) was that this was due to “solana network” “we need to use priority fees.” How long more do we need to use priority fees first? I hope for not 10 days more at least I lost half Solana already these last 10 days.

Anyways I don’t want to spread unnecessary negativity I also have many money invested in this project and I want this project to succeed but I’m just worried about it. But I expect excellency. The reality is how many times we had “starcom problems”? For how long more they will persist? And is this really starcom issues? Again: Take accountability! I think this is due to bad scalability for the crazy amount of transactions SA process in this network which takes a very big investment to fix.

But would be great to know what to really expect from this. Real expectations.
