You can store fuel for later use at any faction station, but you need to transport it there first. ex: load up your cargo space with fuel on the trip out and unload it at the destination starbase.

I am scanning with only one fleet so it is hard to tell. If suddenly lots of players moved to labs and started using the lab assistant you will get fewer sdu for everyone. But that is just a speculation on my side, will be nice if I can look at some data to confirm that

p.s. noticed that my single fleet is hitting the cap on sdus often than usual ( going home with something like 81 or 93 sdus is indication of that ) so I though that just more people are scanning. Or maybe someone find a more proficient way to do it and is outscanning everyone

- My own macro that has dinamic timings depending on the hit rate ( SikuliX custom script for my fleet )

Can't pinpoint the reason, but I'd bet on a mix of many things: congestion, Starcomm being, well, Starcomm, RPC provider being shitty, and more people scanning.

yeah they stopped making announcements. Very bad communication, they still have not announced the crafting fee changes. Or patch notes for last 4-5 patches

They did not say it wil be automatic 7%. It is a real economy and things fluctuate. In future the team may automate the percentage but it is not worth doing that right now due to development resources. It would be better if development time si spent making the game.

I will try one more time. They rebase 7% of avergage price over 7 days. Then people use the game. Things go up and down. They do not change it for every minor change. The people are aware what the current craft fee is. Then there is a need to make a change. They give a heads-up as they did recently and then the changes are done. This DOES NOT require a patch note. It is not a game or system change.
if it is for an mmo game it should start making sence from a lore point of view, otherwise it is not a game but a financial tool which I would not enjoy playing

I agree to notice and patch notes but when there are choices to be made for valuable time I think that the team has made the right choices to where spend their time. That said you have your opinion and I have mine. It is all good. However I suggest that you learn a little more about the reasons and plans.

How do I learn? They don't share their reasons and plans. I think they already confirmed that they won't even make a roadmap. Also typing the patch notes will take 5minutes of 1 person's time. The paragraph you just typed took the same time as putting together the change notes.
Go check other projects, you won't even needs to join discord or anything. Every patch is detailed on their homepage news sections.

My firend you are new and I understand. There is a lot to learn. I agree that there needs to be a lot of documentation. However we are in pre-Alpah stages. Things are beign developed and they keep changing. Any documentation will get stale very quickly. There is no easy solution for that. THe team has to balance that and I understand it. THer are times that I get frustrated also. As far as raodmap is concerend. You are misinformed. There was a roadmap. It needs a refresha dn it is in the works. If you had a chance to attend or wathc the brew it was stated that it will be released by March. It is ready but there is areason that they are publishing it for next few weeks.
Show me another project similar to SA that has done something similar.

The success rate of sectors is dynamically changing. Usually the best success rates are found towards the middle of the map. There are also other things to consider:
- What is the cooldown of your scanning fleet
- Once you find an sdu ( successful scan hit ) the % chance of the sector that you are scanning goes to 0 and regenerates to its highest possible % chance over 2 min
- Are there other fleets scanning on your location
- There is a hard cap for maximum SDUs found on the map in a minute - if it is hit the whole map goes on 1 min cooldown. If that cap is hit and you continue scanning during the 1 min cooldown you won't find any SDUs
- There is a small chance that you make a "Critical hit" and find more SDUs from a single scan ( varying between 2x and 10x your usual SDU finds)
So currently a bit hard to calculate a guaranteed return rate on the SDUs scan considering all the variables.
I strongly suggest checking out the Eveeye Map with SDUs scan chances. Once you leave it run for a while it will populate with what other fleets are finding and you have the option to right click on a specific sector/tile and check the hit rates and successes of other players: https://atlas.eveeye.com/?m=Galia Expanse&o=nodeout_blk,node_sov,sub_sector,sector_ws_scan_p,con_none,etag_none,tag_none,dark

That is very difficult to answer because it will be different for different people, time, location and who is scanning at the same location. You need to calculate it yourself. However I can tell you that even your rate will change daily slightly. You should just try running and then record teh number for you fleets as a general reference.

Well some guys in this chat just try to shut down anyone who has any criticism. All my questions have been valid and all I get back is some bullshit from the fan boys. Saying that I need to listne to brew and try to make me look stupid that I don't understand how the fees are calculated and etc. I realized that nobody here knew how crafting fees are calculated and how much from the crafting fees to go team and etc.
Rule of thumb: you fleet has max Scan rate of 10 SDU no matter how many ships you have in the fleet. Ideally you have 10 xxs in the fleet to get 10 SDU on success. xs gives you 2, small gives 3 and so on.
I donāt think anyone is trying to shut you down, just giving you their opinions. You should also think about the tone in which you bring things up, since youāll receive answers in a similar one š

ok so then if I use a small ship only, once I get a success I should take 3 SDU or more depending by the critical shot.
IF you are using small ship: each ship gives 3. Hence the goal for the fleet is to get to 10. This means if you have 3 small you can get 9 SDU if you have 4 small you will get 10. Hence the 4th ship is wasteful. In such case create a fleet of 3 small ships and 1 xxs. This will give you 10 SDU per successful scan.
pre alpha is a state of development, this is a massive project to hit its full vision, showroom has 0 econ loops yet so you can't even truly count that and sage labs (very limited rules set) is by definition a pre alpha test environment
I am just wondering about the Data Runner ship.... the Opod has 13k Cargo and no toolkit costs with a cooldown of 33seconds. In principle, I could make 100 scans per hour, meaning 2400 scans a day. If I get 4 SDU per successful scan and consider a 30% success rate, I could earn 2800 SDU a day. Meaning the cargo will be full in about 5 days.... does it make sense?
yes that is a good strategy for Opod. You do not have toolkit cost. Better yet put 2 Opods. You will get 8 per scan.
Basic SDU found depends on your fleet configuration. Each ship has size, for example xxSmall ships are size 1, xSmall size 2, Samll size 3 and so on.
The maximum base SDU find is 10 so players tend to optimize their scanning fleets for that reason. For example here are a few configurations for a scanning fleet that are optimized based on max SDU base find:
- 10x of xxSmall ships fleet ( each xxSmall is 10 size so that gives you 10 base sdu find ). I go with Unibombas but, any xxSamll will do just best to be the same kind of ship to have consistent SDU cooldown scan
- 8x xxSmall ( let say Pierce x4 ) and 1x xSmall ( lets say Calico Maxhog ) - so 8x xxSamll is size 8 + 1x xSmall is size 2 for a total of 10 base sdu find. This fleet is usually used to have more cargo for toolkits and scan for longer time.
- Some interesting setups might be 2x Rayfam 1x Opod
For my Opods I have added 2 small to maximize the results even though it will cost me toolkits. I did try Opods alone but I find this a better fit for me because I do not have hundreds of Opods.
two opod is ideal but costl. I was thinking One opod and six xxs with a scan cost of 7 toolkit which means 42 toolkit costs per scan session
yes it makes sense, can give you a quote on the exact numbers, but if you set up a base station near the midde of the map that you can supply with fuel for the Opod and run the script to scan around you should get a nice chance to find toolkits

Sure, that would've been good to take part of. But apart from the brews there are little to no information to be found or it's outdated. You all guys been in here for long time but for new players it's kinda difficult to get on track. Current player base is mostly people who want to make money here, that's a fact.
My suggestion is to improve the communication part as much as possible. Quickest way to learn about games current state is by going through patch notes. Every change is important and even if you manually need to update the fees then all such information should be found somewhere

Personal opinion: bad strategy, because even though it improves the outcome, it increases the cooldown considerably. OPOD's good feature is the 33s cooldown.

I did test my friend miner ships for scanning - super low toolkit costs, huge cargo space. I am sticking with my Unibomba fleet for now - somehow lower cost on the toolkits, best sdu cooldown scan, moderate costs on the fuel for warping.

It's not about if I noticed the fees change. It's more about how things are handled. Changing fees is economical therefor should be noted down and shared with end-users in deep detail. We're paying fees that go the team, it's our right to know what exactly changes and it's teams responsibility to share what is our right to know.
Also for the past 4-5 patches there have been no patch notes. I want to know which bugs were fixed and etc..

Not sure I understand. I can't find any detailed info anywhere that says anything about the fees. Only pre-announcment but this has 0 details. And still patch notes for the last 4-5 versions are nowhere to be found.

A few things: refresh, clear history, different browser, different connection (try routing data from your phone), try v1, v2 or 3D.

You just have to remember that these ships have earning potential. That's why they're more pricey than traditional game assets.
also in UE5 game you can use 1 vehicle at the time. In the future buying a 10$ airbike to play the game is actually not that bad, considering this a game purchase which you can then sell at any time you want.

You can see the 3d models in Unreal engine. The latest fix allows you to see the ships that you have in labs in Showroom too.
Also, there is pre-alpha that you can use to see your ships in 3d in labs: https://sage.staratlas.com/
You can actually use the labs v1 or v2 interface to play and look at them go in the 3d Sage. Keep in mind that most of the actions work in Sage 3d, but it is still early work in progress so best to stick to V1 and V2 for actual gameplay until it is polished

and send the ships there temporarily
as if your using a hot wallet you would need to enter the seed phrase
they made a ue5 wallet for showroom - it works like any other hot wallet just with ue5 as the platform ie phantom for ue5

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone tested lancer accounts with main wallet with ledger and wallet with script for labs. I am about to do some testing but I don't have ledger myself - still not decided if I actually need one at this point considering my current assets and progress in game
they are not that expensive
effectively 100usd worth of assets is more then a ledger
I am on a half-year hiatus from work so I am currently optimizing my spending on stuff š
the catch is there are people that spammed scan in the first week of labs and earned enough to buy a few ledgers with only a small number of ships
so I would assume the same would happen early days in racing / starbased
Well deserved I think, these are the people that pumped the sol transactions for Star Atlas and brought attention to it. At least that is how I heard about the game when I was making some crypto research. I did make some profit in labs without spamming too much to buy a ledger but the Scud was a priority investment. Probably ledger is the next thing I buy if they don't release the new racing ships before that š
will do some testing with the lancer accounts when I get my hands on one for sure
remember the team is going to release a profile system, the current option is more add hoc
but its decent from what I hear

yeah, this is the profile system that I am talking about - it was already implemented in Labs Assistant. It is not official yet, but the code is there and it is already working in the community projects

Yeah, best to wait for official player profiles by the team, I am just trying to test as much as possible since my main trade is quality assurance/testing. Most of the community made scripts are not suitable for end-users yet but they help me learn alot about sol network and the game in general. Maybe play with it on a burner account with a few xxSmall to see how it feels.
I mean for me the big aspect would be having things between computers without needing to have the ledger hooked up at all
the catch is thats not in the specs for that at all as it still requires a hardware wallet to connect to the game itself
ie it creates a software bridge between the ledger and the game that is only for that 1 session

Yeah, I think I know what he is talking about - it is the token fee for creating the ship account for the player profile. I think there is still no way to refund it upon disbanding the fleet. But it is there on chain so when team implements the player profile we should get a way to reclaim those I guess

their other tool by definition requires a separate wallet unless your only running a few fleets and your using the correct wallet set up already
Well you can, just need to approve every transaction manually which is not what I am looking forward to dealing with. What I want is:
- Secure my main assets with ledger so it is not possible to withdraw them from Sage without approving this with ledger wallet.
- Make the scrip run the mining and the scanning with a Solflare wallet that does not have access to withdraw the ships from the game
I think this is how it works, I just don't have the ledger to test it with
but i am already sold, I will get one asap
the catch of being able to connect directly with the ledger is if your doing something that has a larger amount of sol tied to it you do it directly with the ledger and when your just running your set up you swap to the hot wallet
note that only works if its running on the same game account as the ledger does directly

the catch is in theory you would be able to go in and change the auth settings for sol to send whatever is trapped on the hot wallet back out
the other thing is releasing how to do that would also say how to steal someones ships in theory
as how that functions would be via authentication triggers set up in the wallet

labs would not work without all that as is
part of what makes on chain gaming viable on sol is the authentication structure in the wallets/token accounts

just sold some SDUs so it works for me. Maybe do a hard refresh CTRL + F5 and try again. It does hang up from time to time but it usually fixes itself after a waiting a bit and refreshing

not yet,, just came back and getting the hang of things,, rn im doing the faction fleets,, haha thats how i encountered the marketplace thingy
if you already have ships staked more than a week in faction fleet you should be able to get the code for showroom from your profile - if not the mods can always give you one. The third person shooter with the bots is coming out pretty well
my greenader crashed the game when I tried to fly it, looked cool though

yes, the catch is that showroom can't read what is in labs
so it needs to be in the wallet or in faction fleet
note as of v2.2 they would need to be functionally seprate for econ reasons so them fixing that is not exactly going to happen

once we have econ loop in showroom it should be removed, but now it is good as we can test our ships there
ie v2.2 would need to have separation because we should not be able to use our crew/ships in racing while they are in labs doing stuff but as the game is in the same map that would ideally be handled via localization code so they would need to make localization work in showroom eventually
this is an example of non linear development
Best practive is to have separate wallet for testing showroom - there are ships on free rotation there so there is always something that you can test with.
If you want to test with a specific ship that you have then you will need to have it in the wallet/labs/faction fleet that is connected to showroom
but for shooting with bots you don't need it

Why would someone send 5 fleets to the same sector to scan for SDU? Seems an inefficient use of resources.
Maybe you can do the math for me. How much do multiple scanning fleets reduce success probability from the overall sector probability?
Depends on how you scan. If you configure them to scan consecutively until they hit and then all wait 2 min after hitting an sdu you would probably outscan anyone else trying to get a scan in this sector

the only logical reason would be to try to hit a square that has a high rate

On manual and focusing on high probability sectors I had a 40% success rate/scan. On auto I am down around 15% but I'm scanning at a far higher rate. On manual I was pulling in 1000-1200 sdu/fleet/day. On auto I'm closer to 800.
