if you have an empty cargo hold and try to start mining, it will tell you how many food you need to fill the hold. set a timer and if you have food left at the end, decrease the amount of food you start with until you fill your hold 99%

I have found that if you are trying to mine. it is best not to use the "undock all" option. sometimes the the fleets will show undocked with no cargo at all

Yeah often painful. I found doing smaller amounts than what I have enough materials for was best. Eg. I had enough mats for 10k but ended up doing a 5k craft then a 3500, then finally the 1500 went thru. It was failing every time I tried the 10k all at once... 🤷

yeah, you will need to self destruct because you have no fuel. V1 prevented starting mining without enough fuel to exit asteroid mining, but V2 does not check. So you started mining without fuel and now cannot exit because you don't have enough fuel

But you don't have any on the ship - the ship is mining an asteroid field and cannot exit without some fuel. It says fuel cost to start mining but it is actually charged when you stop. I will log this as a bug, because it should not allow you to start mining at all if you don't have the fuel in your fleet tank

if the fleet is stuck it will probably not work, but if you cannot wait for the team to check it might as well try. Self-destructing during mining was added explicitly for when the fleet has not fuel to exit: #🩹┃patch-notes message

I am pretty sure labs V1 does not allow you to start the mining without fuel unless you are using some automation tools. But I don't really want to test that out right now, not urging to spent the Atlas to self-destruct only to test 😄

3. Go to deposit or withdraw ships and transfer them back to your wallet

There are kinda 3 active games right now:

1. Showroom ( Star Atlas Epic Games/Unreal Engine 5 ) - you will need a code for the pre-alpha access to it. You can get one if you stake a ship in faction fleet for a week or ask a mod here for one
2. Faction Fleet/Faction Claims - this one is for passive earning. Just staking ships or claim stakes to generate you Atlas or R4
3. Sage Labs - currently the most active gameplay. 2D/3D browser game, current stage is harvesting resources/scouting/crafting. Next version will have combat and starbase building.

For 1, you just need the code for now to be able to download from Epic Games store. If you already have ships they can be used in it too, but there are also some on free rotation so it is not necessary unless you want to have them always available to you in game.

For 2 and 3 you will need ships and R4 to play. R4 are the 4 basic consumable resources in game - Fuel, Ammo, Food, Toolkits.

Which one you are interested in? Maybe all of them?

I have hit a similar bug with forming a fleet - it does not update correctly in the interface sometimes. You can try:

1. CTRL + F5 and do a hard refresh of the browser - this usually corrects most visual bugs
2. Check if the fleet is available in Labs V1: https://v1.labs.staratlas.com/

Another thing - sometimes it takes time to add all the ships to the fleet if you are adding a bunch of them all at once. Wait some time, hard refresh and check again. If they are not there after 5-10 minutes and after a hard refresh - best to open a ticket so team can check.

Not really an open world at this point there's just the showroom. Multiplayer is self-hosted aswell so you would have to open a session or join someone else's.
The next update will bring proper multiplayer servers and multiplayer racing.
