Depends on where you wanna mine with them, if you stay at css I think there is no need for that. Btw how many xxSmall do you got right now? Tips are also good for scanning because of their low toolkit consumption per scan. You can do:

1. 3x tips + 1x xxSmall ship for main scan fleet
2. 1x tips mining hydro on a resupply station and using the rest of the xxSmall to craft it into fuel. Also use these to resupply with toolkits the main scan fleet.

Also you can just go to css with main scan fleet to resupply with toolkits - I think with 3xTips you run out of toolkits for scan in about 8 hours so you mostly want the fuel for moving them to a good scanning area. I think MRZ-6 and MRZ-5 are good station for resupplying you scan fleet. This route will mean that you will need to be either more active in game or use automation.

Another strategy for more passive play - mine hydro and other resources on the CSS and the near stations ( tips are two warps away from them ). When you finish for the day you can go and put your tips in faction claims - rinse and repeat when you have time to play labs. Use the xxSmalls to craft what you mined into higher tier components

everything is a solana txn 0.000005, expect solana token account creation, these are 0.02, but you get the token accounts back as soon you close them, its an automated process, so as soon you interact with any asset it creates token accounts, same goes for fleets and cargo
so each time you transport or mine things, cargo token accounts get created for your fleet these usually get closed when you unload, but when you disband a fleet a message will pop up in the starbase that you have open cargo accounts when you press it you get the solana token/renting account fees back

every asset is a token account like ships fuel food etc

If you got the Sol and the toolkits to repair the ship there are two possible issues as far as I know:
Option 1: Starcom/Solana network issues - this is usually a temp one, you will see failed transactions and if you open the browser console there will be some error in it. This is usually temp issue and you can retry after 5 min
Option 2: You have closed the token account for that particular ship/nft in your wallet ( sometimes people close the accounts from step.finance ). Usually making a temp order to buy this exact ship on the market place ( make it like buy for 0,001 usdc and wait for the token to be created then delete the order ) will create the token.

P.S. when withdrawing the ship it should check if you need to repair and charge you the toolkits for it, I just withdrawed some ships so I can confirm it should work without the need to repair it in advance. Just make sure you have enough toolkits for the operation.

yeah, you are actually charged tx fee to burn them. If you put them in spam and they stay there long enough they will be automatically moved to "Blocklist" and you should stop receiving at least those particular ones in your wallet. But burning them is actually waste of resources. And yeah, some of them are intentionally made "broken" so you cannot even burn them. Example of my collection sitting in the "Blocklist" right now

I have noticed that it takes time if it is your first buy because it first needs to create the ship token in your wallet. If you check your wallet transactions you might see it. So first attempt to buy probably created the ship token ( this should be the order that charges you only solana in your wallet ) and then when you have it the actual buy order for the ship can pass. It is the same with the resources tokens - first order may fail, but it will create the token account and then the next one should be success.
