If you have never played Titanfall 2 then playing 3 bucks on Steam is a steal.

Hell, the Effect and Cause level in the single player is almost worth 3 bucks.

Not sure if this is the right section but if the team want to explore deploying autonomous agents as AI NPCs maybe the “ai group” (swags mentioned there were people keeping an eye on AI in an interview) can mess around with AI Town? Just to get a feel for how it might one day work in the game. Also shared a screen of a good paper unless they’ve read it already.

What’s cool about the paper is they expand on the Stanford generative agent paper. They lay out the 4 sections of the agent architecture and have git links to studies in the field.
(Stanford team had 3) now we have:

It may seem far off but this sector of AI seems to be really promising. An mmorpg using AI NPCs probably drops 2024.

Would be rad if SA ends up being the project on the bleeding edge of AI NPCs.

A fun experiment would be to deploy 25 agents into an instance of the Showroom.

Sales reps from each manufacturer. Bartender, janitor, etc.

Then test what it would be like for a new player to log in and have an NPC try to sell them an X4. Also could be reps from each faction explaining the basics of the game politics.

Been obsessed with ai art most of 2023. Stable Diffusion is complicated, but worth it.

I don’t see it as competing with art. Art is often something you do…it’s a process not a product. What it does is 100x your output. It is a creative supercharger.

For me….visual art was a pursuit of trying to make the images that were not of this world seem believable. Genre is called Imaginative Realism.

I would take ref photo of model and collect ref pics. Then use these to try to make the vision have the fidelity of my mental picture.

I hit a skill cap and lost the time it took to create (4 hours a night) AI art will allow people to iron out their idea and use the output as a reference. Or it will allow anyone to include visual elements in their work without the need to pay someone. With GPT4 you can spawn an image just as a way to highlight a post. It’s amazing.

To me art is the idea, not the product. But others might feel differently. I also didn’t enjoy working the tool I chose. I couldn’t make a mistake (ink doesn’t erase) and one leaking technical pen could mean almost a year of work went up in smoke. Ai Art is more enjoyable to me then the medium I chose to embrace (pen and ink).
