can't equip fishing gear

I'm a returning player (2 month break) and since the last maintenance I can't equip my fishing gear on all characters. The icon of fishing rods and floats swaps to my other fishing gear but never appears on the equipment slots. Is this known?

Press other icon that is right below the Equipment text. Then equip them and try holding ' and see if that swaps to fishing rod. If not, try to hold any other key near your Enter key. For me ä does the job

Thansk for the quick answer! Unfortunately none of these methods worked but at least now I see that it is indeed equipped even though my character doesn't hold the gear and fishes when i press space

Holding any of the keys near your Enter doesn't work? Then there is double sword icon on the row where your horse and maids and what not is too.
