People have boss alts that have barely any gear, so there is no "threshold" really. Though you do need to do some damage to the bosses which is harder at lower level and low geared alts. Up to you how good gear you want on them. I personally aim to get Tri gear on all my alts an most already have it.

I have my chars at 220/290 and they don't struggle with normal bosses at all, but the Super bosses you need to know what you are doing to survive. You won't get one tapped unless you make mistakes with the gear.
