#Any way to boost Internet signal?

Hello,

Not really a BDO related question, well, not directly, but I was wondering if someone has any ''life hacks'' or something that I can boost my WiFi signal or something? (Via the CMD or something similar, don't know). The problem is that (I don't know exactly what causes it) sometimes I'd disconnect every 5-10 minutes within an hour or two timeframe, so I ended up losing billions in crystals as I die when grinding, hence why now I tend to buy the cheaper options of the expensive crystals, which doesn't make a ''huge'' difference, but if you want to MIN-MAX it's not ideal of course.

When it comes to the service I have, it's meant to be the best available, the problem is I live in a skyscraper on the 44th floor, so naturally even my cellular signal is bad unless I stand by the window..

Any help/advice would be helpful.

Thanks 🙂

I would not recommend gaming on wifi if you can help it. Its just not stable enough of a connection for MMOs and you will experience ping spikes, disconnect and desync issues. There is no real fix for this its a limitation of the technology.

a wired connection is muuuch better for stable connection. Invest in a ethernet extension cable if you need, its very worth (Keep in mind though, the shorter the cable the better). There isnt really any kind of minmaxing right now that will ever have a wifi connection match a wired connection.

That said, there are some ways to help your internet speeds regardless of wired or wireless. Things like restarting your router, getting better hardware, flushing DNS cache, closing unnecessary programs in the background

  • To be more specific, open task manager and head to the services tab, sort by status and look at all the things running in the background. Some of these things take up bandwidth, not a lot but it adds up. Do yourself a solid and scan these and disable any that arent necessary.
Limiting devices on the connection will also help, as well as of course scanning for viruses.

Hope this helps :)

Hey all, thanks a lot of the replies, sorry forgot to mention something important, Ethernet Cable was never an option, otherwise that'd the the very first thing I'd do. Since everyone seems to be recommending that I guess there's nothing I can do about it then?
