I play Valkyrie awakening and don't need to swap into pre awakening to manage skills,
Of course you can benefit from adding in a few if them, but they can be cast while in awakening form and by pressing spacebar right after it puts you back to awaken.

But yes she can be done without swapping in pre awakening

I'm afraid I don't have enough experience with other classes to say if they swap in pre awakening or not. I think Guardian doesn't need to add in pre awakening, but I've only done her a very little bit during an old season

also are we talking about strictly pve? or also pvp? which AP range are you in? Which spots are you going?

In a general sense, guardian, lahn, striker and kunoichi hardly ever use main hand skills in awakening.
