This is crazy.. today I was afk fishing, returned home to see that my account say perma banned for using macros and programs. the thing is that I've NEVER used any of this nor have cheated in any way. Im online almost all the time to auto fish, so maybe that's why? I wrote a ticket but only received generic answers and no info at all. Is there a way to resolve this with somebody I can directly chat with?

IF you are innocent, there might have been some random program in your PC that triggered EAC

Support just said the decision cannot be undone, I was offline the whole time how did I use any macros, I just let the game overnight fishing is there someone else we can talk to? I have my account for more than 4 years and all gone without proof is not easy to take

It was the first thing I went to see, My name is not there and about use of macros and other programs I dont use them or even know them, the only thing I use with BDO on my system is MSI afterburner, a program for OCing my graphics card and monitoring temperatures on my PC, but I use it for 4/5 years now and only 1 game had an issue with it and was not BDO, I dont modify my client except for the character portraits and for that almost anyone would be banned, when I play usually I have opera GX and discord open to talk and see videos

The response does not help, my ticket was responded at the time almost instantly and saying decision is final, I will try another ticket to see if I can get a better response, I dont want to give up on my account with a review of my appeal of 5 minutes...

I have a completely same situation, I don't use anything to modify the game. I have only browser open while playing. Got the same answers from support like you. Only thing I can think of is that I had bdo open 24/7 so maybe the game detection thinks I was botting?

Atm waiting for a response to my last ticket... my name oficially appears on the todays banned people, I dont use or even know what macros the game can use, what comes to my mind is that I installed Corsair iCue for my headset to update it, after some search on forums and etc other games are banning people for using iCue, Razer Synapse and Logitech Hub, so I guess my equipment cant be updated or used when playing games is that right?

BDO can only be played with a generic mouse and keyboard least you risk a random ban for macros, this is insanity

and as I dont get a response as for what caused the ban if I try to play again the game I will end up being banned again and without a response, no doubt was placed on me it was a straight up ban without any warning

I am using iCue but did not use any keyboard macros/binds and I did not trigger any ban

I always had Razer Snypase and MSI afterburner, the only one I added is iCue and its only for my headset, for years no problem and then after using the software a week later I get this, also for Synapse I use it for RGB lightning and set the DPI for the mouse, no key macros...

Family Name is Vanberk, I play on EU servers, I got the same response, after this I got responded one more time with the same and then all my ticket gets replied without a reply if I reopen it, I tried opening a new ticket about this...

I just used a Value Pack of 180 days and its still running, I dont have much so I tend to spend when I know I will be playing the game.

First of all honestly they should give you exact reason WHAT triggered BAN.

Also their Operational policy does not SPECIFY what program can trigger ban which is huge red flag and leaves open field to "question" their decision

Not specifying what program can cause issues means "anything" can be flagged and potentially false ban you

Technically any macro can get you banned if it's done outside BDO itself

#

Best practice is to never use any programs that have macro ability built in

that is my main problem, I will not give up on my account, but even if I wanted to start a new, will it not be banned? I am not told what triggered the ban so it will happen again... and If I get my account back the same might apply, I have been using and playing the game the same way I always did and nothing happened

I will admit, it's extremely rare to have seen so many accounts banned recently. Something seems off, and this isn't the first time this has happened (we've had a massive ban wave in the past that took attention on reddit, and it was a mistake made from something changed that PA made to the game)

BDO also has been detecting other programs running and im unsure why

e.g.
If you use something like wemod for a single player game on steam and BDO is in tray, as of last week, bdo now will trigger with a detection thing and force shut off

Vanbeark has like 3 software variables but as for me, I only have Logitech G Hub. And this is for my G502 mouse that I bought and have been using since June 2018. I've been playing BDO since 2017

Just today in the patch you can see that more people got banned for the same reason, my ticket is still waiting for a response and it will be almost 3 days after opening

I received the same, I’ve been actively fishing in season server pretty hard and boom ban
I ask for proof and logs as nothing has changed on my pc.
but I don’t even get a generic reply now they just mark my support tickets as replied but there is no reply.

If I am being accused of something and I am invited to defend myself, present the evidence, I was banned in other games because Razer Synapse is unknown software to game devs its seems, and I always could talk with support and even explained things and I could always get my account back on those other games

Some support from other games sometimes asked for logs from my PC and other data I could Give and no problem there, but the reply saying that the decision is FINAL on a 4 minute review of my 6y account... its not even giving us the players a chance to defend ourselves, i opened a ticket just to get accused even more

There was a big ban wave way back in Kakao times, then there was lot of call outs

Some players were able to get their accounts back after while

But those posts are all gone since Launcher swap to PA

This same thing happens almost every time we get a Ban wave. Not so big call outs tho

Ill be honest you wont get anywhere. You cant get here and in the forums from what i saw you typing. Some people think because ot didnt happen to them then it cant happen to any legit player. I dont have a problem with the bans but their following actions from support which is doing nothing. In every other game ive played they give you a reason and can talk to a human from my experience. I would just move on tbh.

I already know that my account is gone, I guess I am just waiting for my last ticket to get a cookie cutter response or get ignored to finally accept this, I can only say that dont spend on this game as I did, the very next day you get a ban, and no they dont allow you to defend yourself, no evidence will be provided and you will be accused of two things, your guess on which one it was, there is no software or human error, the decision is final and the review of 4 minutes of your account is enough for them, you open new tickets and you get replied without a reply, AKA closing the ticket as resolved or if you insist on keeping a open ticket it gets ignored... you will get treated with the most severe punishment even if in X years you never did wrong, a 1st violation for them is a perma ban so I see no reason to call it 1st violation.

I just want my account back, I am innocent, I am almost crying because my account is being taken from me and they dont listen, they dont allow me to defend myself, and I should just give up and move on because the decision is FINAL.

I understand how you feel. I remember not been able to log in into my apex account for one month. Support was useless giving me ways to resolve my issue from a copy and paste script they have. I looked online to see if there was a way to resilve this but found out that it had happened to multiple people for over a year. Nothing was done since it only happened to a small percentage of the population of the game.

Hey guys just wanted to drop by to say that we're (as in we the mods) fine if you discuss the recent bans here. I know reddit seems to have an issue with it but we'll allow it here as long as people stay nice to eachother.
I've also asked PA staff to check on these recent macro related bans but obviously I'm just another player and I can't promise any results or even a response.
I do however understand that it is a concerning and certainly emotion wrenching and that people would like more clarity in the matter. I hope that everything turns out for the best. Prayge

Thank you Joey, I appreciate that you at least reached out to PA staff. I myself, just as much as the next guy, would love to see actual cheaters and exploiters get banned from BDO. But if my Logitech G Hub (using mainly for Mouse PSI changes and smarter keyshortcuts with all my extra buttons everywhere) results in me having anxiety about playing a game I love just because I am optimizing my pc experience outside of BDO it’s just not right 🫠🥹

Something that would help is, collectively gathering together:

  • A list of programs yall have on your PCs that impact any key rebinding/macros
  • List of programs you have running alongside BDO when you're playing
  • Generally what were the last things you were doing before the ban
  • Gather anything related to timings as well
  • More so reputation wise, but perhaps length of years been playing

Hey BDO community. I have been a player for several years and have enjoyed every bit of it. To my surprise I had patched this AM and got notification that I have a permanent account restriction for use of 3rd Party Programs Use and Macros. I was truly confused about this situation as I have never performed such action and have literally been AFK fishing on my seasonal for past couple weeks..

I ended up opening an inquiry with BDO Support and they responded this.. They apparently have recorded evidence that they will not provide and are not open to discussion and no longer responded to any replies or inquires. I am baffled about this situation and need some help from the community. Please what do I do??? I tried posting something on reddit but think I am getting auto-moderated. I can post the responses to and from the GMs..

You will almost certainly get a copy/paste response by support at first. PA is aware that this seems to be an issue and are actively looking into it. They're likely trying to collect information at this point. Pretty much all support is outsourced and I can almost guarantee that if the ban was triggered by EAC detection a support agent is going to see that and just dish out the copy/paste response.
Its not that they don't care, they are just following procedure. Your ticket doesn't go into the void to be forgotten about from that point, it stays in the system and remains active, even if it gets marked as closed it can always be re-opened later by a GM or by yourself if you respond to it.
I know it can be scary to be banned and get a copy/paste response with really no reassuring news or context to help you understand why you got banned but please be patient with the matter.

Internal information could be for example, what is being detected or what kind of method they use to identify macros or third party software. It doesn't pertain to you directly, its not personal information that is identifiable to you, as such PA can choose (and likely will choose) to not divulge what is being detected or probably even what is the reason for all these bans even if we don't consider the problem of a potential false flag.

Not saying that to put your hopes down or anything, its just standard procedure to follow. If everyone knows how they detect issues or potential TOS violations then it becomes easier to go undetected if you're someone trying to abuse the system.
But yes you are correct, if there is anything that is directly tied to you it would be protected under GDPR (though I'm not a legal expect so take that with a grain of salt)

Side note.. Anyone know if clearing your UserCache falls under modifying the game files and breaking term of service? There was a time that I ended up following this guide as my BDO launcher would not load and I followed a guide to get it working again. Apart of this I had to verify the integrity of my files through steam, as the repair files on the launcher I couldn't get to. I really hope I didn't screw myself and receive a perma ban from that...

I got hit too, but I believe it was due to launching Cheat Engine to use on Vampire Survivors, while forgetting BDO was minimized to tray.

Easy Anti-Cheat detected Cheat Engine launching, and immediately closed BDO. BDO and Cheat Engine were never open simultaneously, but Easy Anti Cheat still logged it launching.

I am honestly thinking my Logitech G Hub caused this. It comes stock with mouse shortcut like "Win+Key" that could have flagged as Macroing, despite no known use of it. Otherwise like the other guys said not sure as it would seem that a lot more players would have this software installed and doing AFK fishing.

I used to cheat on an mmo once (Dragon Nest) and got banned. Instead of arguing with the dev team, I wrote a sincere letter why cheating is wrong and why I was doing it at the first place, they listen and unban me. I never cheat at any game since then.

I have my fare share of cheating but not in MMOs anybody can be lying here but not gonna start accusing. But its true you dont know who is telling the truth. From what i remember you would get a warning if it was macro related from what i read. I wanted to use macros so i did my research if it was allowed which isnt. Which is why i was surprised people were getting perma. The only ridiculous thing is people insinuating that its related to doing afk activities. If that was the case many more people would of gotten hit with the peepoban

The question is where does ess lead? BDO is now not an MMO which has tons of players and should work to keep the regular players.
