Ideally, you want to put -DP on t3 and either attack/cast speed OR crit hit rate (if your class doesn’t cap out)

Slap on special attack modifiers for extra damage, also a reason lightstone sets like vicious shadows for back attack are so popular

That's only nice if the t3 skill is low cooldown/spammable. If not, the uptime on the 5 sec buff is miniscule for modifier damage
esp for pve
vicious shadows actually isnt as popular as the game matured and folks got more knowledgeable.
The hierarchy for pve sets has come down to:
Deathblow (if not 100% crit on your pve skill rotation) -> Species damage -> vicious shadows

Tru, some classes have guranteed backattacks though like hash tele purging or sage dashing through mobs, good for cases like that
