there is no issue with the domain. what is the issue?

root@B3778E91:/var/www/pterodactyl#]
complete the steps certbot gives you
or use different methods, such as --manual or --standalone
I try and I keep getting the same error
show us what command your typing
sudo certbot --nginx -d withermc.store -d www.withermc.store
I’ve followed the instructions step by step and this is the only command not working
Shouldn't you create certificates individually for each domain?
Not on the same command
Try
sudo certbot --nginx -d withermc.store
sudo certbot --nginx -d www.withermc.store```
Saving debug log to /var/log/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.log
Requesting a certificate for withermc.store
Certbot failed to authenticate some domains (authenticator: nginx). The Certificate Authority reported these problems:
Domain: withermc.store
Type: unauthorized
Detail: 13.248.243.5: Invalid response from https://withermc.store/.well-known/acme-challenge/dFm5m3sk20XTjTE9uJkNF8LUUiGX0V7hp82eFhY7I0g: 404
Hint: The Certificate Authority failed to verify the temporary nginx configuration changes made by Certbot. Ensure the listed domains point to this nginx server and that it is accessible from the internet.

root@B3778E91:/var/www/pterodactyl#
this is what i got when i ran sudo certbot --nginx -d withermc.store
same thing for sudo certbot --nginx -d www.withermc.store too
Try this. Didn’t end up working
This is not related to ctrlpanel
Can you direct me into what the issue might be? I’ve google and check with the domain hoster (godaddy.com)
And everything is good on their end. But I still have the issue
Read the error of the bot. You can also request and install certs manually
Did you forward the domain to your server? Did you do this correctly. Again read the error message of the bot
Setting up ssl is not related to ctrlpanel software we only provide a base example on how to do it using certbot since this is a common and easy way of doing it
Mainly read the hint in the error as I assume you haven't pointed your domain to your server correctly
I’m following the document on controlpanels website directly. Is there something else I need to do that might cause this to work?
like he said this isn’t a issue related to us.
What might the issue be? Everything I’ve gotten about it has lead me here. Is there a certain place/thing that’s causing it
Like the error says head to https://community.letsencrypt.org/
they can help you better there
@frozen plinth have you set up A or AAA record for domain correctly?
I advise you to study how domains work, this is basic knowledge of system administration.
A records indicate which ip address the domain leads to. Nothing will work without them. Installing cpgg requires basic knowledge and system administration skills, if you don't have them, then unfortunately we can't do anything for you.
I went ahead and did that too
read what @glacial locust said (sorry for the ping) you need to have simple domain and administrative skills and knowledge to be able to host such things
if you haven’t made a A record that’s the reason
Ok. I’ll do that and see if that fixes it
Ok I set that up and now I am at the part of going to www.yourdomain.com/install (my case being www.withermc.store/install) and I am getting a "This site cannot be reach"
The above error got fixed when I did the A record
I made that A record, getting an error when actually trying to access the part on the domain.
im here:
Check if Nginx is configured correctly.
Also wanted to clarify, have you installed and configured pterodactyl?
Could you please show your Nginx configuration?
No, I need Nginx configuration for cpgg
My friend did that part how do I git to that
ask your friend
he asleep
(not trying to be rude, but you should probably know these things)
its /nginx/sites-available/ctrlpanel.conf file
-bash: /nginx/sites-available/ctrlpanel.conf: No such file or directory
is what it said
/etc/nginx/
-bash: /etc/nginx/: Is a directory
Correct
As I said in your other post, make sure that there are no unnecessary A records in the dns records of the domain. According to your domain, I see the GoDaddy website, but not cpgg. Unfortunately, we can't help you with anything. We can provide support on issues directly related to cpgg.
Yes and it works and has been used before. And I run the nginx command that checks the status and it comes back with 0 errors
.
I double checked the A records and they look fine
I had godaddy support confirm it was setup correctly
Anything?

what exactly is the issue. Cpgg is the only thing that seems to be not working. If not I can troubleshoot but thats why I put new information in
You did not set up the domain correctly, as it directs you to the GoDaddy instead of cpgg
we are talking about withermc.store correct? is it on my end thats its not working?
looks like its a me issue
We cannot and should not provide support for any problems that not related to cpgg, you must have basic knowledge and skills of system administration to install cpgg. If you don't know how to do anything, use Google.
Check your firewall
like I said, seems like it was a me issue and I was seeing something else then what the domain was leading to. Didnt relise that sorry
If u use Ubuntu
ufw allow http
ufw allow https```
ok thank you
How would I install the composer file?
...
...
composer install
How do we do that
dude that's the command
Now my wifi is down agin
Ran the command. It went through. I have pterodactyl already installed previous. Seems like accessing the website is just the issue
what exactly is the issue?
The website (on both our ends this time) doesn’t respond to anything and I’m not able to access www.yourdomain.com/install (ofc with ours being withermc.store/install)
I’ve also tried another domain I have from another hoster, witherstore.info (changing it in the config when I tried it and now it’s back to withermc.store)
Check your firewall
I did. I made sure to allow the needed ports
And they are all allowed
Even on my end too
198.251.71.105 - Is this the ip address of your web server?
That’s so weird cause I ran it and it showed it worked. Let me double check it
The status filtered, which means that the firewall of your provider or your server is blocking the connection
Are you using Ubuntu?
That’s from the firewall manager on the hoster
Yes
You have disabled/configured the embedded Ubuntu Firewall?
ufw disable
This was from yesterday, just found the picture. Let me run that disable command now that im on my computer
Anything?
Helpers do have a life please be patient or you won’t get any help
I understand. Wanted to just make sure it was seen as still needing help that’s all.
what domain is your pterodactyl running on?
The pterodactyl is running on an ip
so it seems something broke on the servers end and the ports got messed up. If I would need to reset the computer, can I install this panel without pterodactyl
No??? Because cpgg is a billing panel for pterodactyl
