NYU CAS only has B.A. if you want BS you have to go to Tandon. There’s no difference in terms of job application but it’s just whether you prefer stem courses or liberal arts

which one costs less for you

#

id also consider that unless money completely does not matter

nyu has a poor cs program. but i agree cost matters more

nyu also has better job recruitment than urochesteer

#

just cause of location

rochester is definitely a left leaning campus and area and the weather is <85F in both rochester and nyu although tech and film obviously lean more towards new york just cause of the size

#

id definitely consider rochester especially cause it costs less and the cs program might be better

also nyu doesnt really have a campus and is more integrated into the city

#

so thats worth considering

#

which campus environment you like more

It's not exactly bad, and can certainly land you a job

but according to some current students it lacks in applicability

#

that is of course an opinion only and I am sure many will say otherwise

I am going to RIT which is close to URochester, but URochester was my other choice. I thought the engineering department at URoch was a little outdated, but they have stunning medical departments. CS wise im not so sure, but the Rochester area has some good CS internships depending on what you want to do with it. NYU is a great school, not sure how good their CS is, but I'm sure you will be able to land good internships.

I’ve been seeing posts on the NYU subreddit from high school seniors asking about NYU CS, about the shrinking acceptance rate, about whether they should apply to Tandon or CAS. And while I should probably answer their questions, I mostly want to ask them why they wish to go to NYU CS. There’s not many good reasons and quite a few bad ones.
